Star Renegades Out Now for Xbox Game Pass and Nintendo Switch

Earlier this year, Massive Damage Games and Raw Fury brought the acclaimed turn-based roguelite RPG Star Renegades to PC via Steam, GOG.com, the Microsoft Store, and Xbox Game Pass for PC. Now the intergalactic rebellion against the Imperium comes to consoles for the very first time: Star Renegades is playable today on Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and Xbox Games Pass, as well as with enhanced performance on Xbox Series X/S.

Star Renegades is a challenging game set around an interplanetary rebellion against an evil authoritarian empire. Fans and critics alike have praised its reactive, turn-based battle system and procedurally generated campaign, which ensure that every playthrough is dynamic and engaging.

Lead a ragtag squad of rebels through richly detailed landscapes, ruins and more on a mission to overthrow the overwhelming might of the Imperium. Your enemies are more than just trash to farm — they’re unique adversaries that evolve after each fast-paced fight and move up the ranks as you play, forcing you to develop new strategies to survive.

Star Renegades will launch on PlayStation®4 soon as well as be playable with enhanced performance on PlayStation®5. For future updates, follow https://twitter.com/starrenegades.

Cyberpunk 2077 will release December 10th, 2020, for PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Stadia. The game will also be playable on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 consoles. DayZ Update 1.10 Launch Trailer

Bohemia Interactive is excited to announce that DayZ Update 1.10 has arrived on all platforms. There are tons of substantial changes to this update, including the long-awaited return of the M3S truck. Along with a drivable variant, there are also brand new static variants for partial spawning. On top of that, all vehicles now offer increased engine durability during collisions with the environment, as well as the option to repair the vehicle’s chassis with epoxy putty and the engine itself with a pipe wrench (unless your engine happens to be ruined). Additionally, a new feature was added for player damage when jumping out of a car.

There are new shelters! They come in three variants (stick, tarp, leather) and offer basic storage capacity, as well as protection from the rain. Speaking of the elements, cold mornings and warm afternoons are more realistic now, as are local wind speeds and altitudes. Furthermore, players can temporarily contain heat from fireplaces. The user interface now contains information about the heat insulation qualities of an individual piece of clothing, and heat insulation / maximum absorption limits for all clothes which have been rebalanced, offering players a variety of choices regarding protection against the rain or cold.

Leg fractures are back as well, along with improvised fixtures (splints). Legs can be broken in all kinds of situations, including combat, stepping on a bear trap, falling or jumping from a great height, and even while jumping out of a car. Keep in mind that if you don’t fix a fracture with a splint, you will suffer limited movement, as well as frequent shock damage, which can render you unconscious. Visualizations of current shock values have been added (i.e. how close you are to unconsciousness), as well as when the actual shock damage is dealt. Applied splints are now visible on the injured player as well.

Rounding out the update, the signal pistol has returned and can light up the night sky in four distinct colors, the longevity of items has been lowered dramatically, and locked doors stay locked during server restarts, while the rest of the doors are randomized. Localization tweaks have also been added, including the introduction of localization into Brazilian Portuguese.

For more details, read the full patch notes for PC here and for console here.

Finally, DayZ and DayZ Livonia will be fully playable on both PS5 & Xbox Series X via backwards compatibility! Read about it here: https://dayz.com/article/general/dayz-on-ps5-xbox-series-x-s

New Power Update Comes to War Thunder

Gaijin Entertainment announces that the military online action War Thunder just got “New Power”, which is the biggest update in the history of the game, as well as PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions of War Thunder that fully utilize the next-gen consoles power. War Thunder has also switched to the Dagor 6.0 engine, thus significantly upgrading the game visuals on all platforms. PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X players can enjoy the new look at a steady 4K@60FPS resolution, while the PC version supports DLSS technology for RTX graphics cards. The ‘New Power’ update also introduces battleships, VTOL aircraft and lots of other new military vehicles, i.e. the T-90A and Leclerc S2 tanks.

Visual enhancements are the first thing that players will notice in the updated game. The War Thunder engine simulates a natural-looking sky with clouds of various types, fog and the correct distribution and scattering of sunlight. The game now has the means to draw a realistic sunset on Mars or a nuclear bomb explosion if needed. Shot and explosion effects, as well as fires and vehicle destruction physics are also enhanced. Physically correct armour scars appear on ground vehicles in places where shells hit and in some cases the projectile can even get stuck in the armour.

War Thunder naval players will now have the chance to fight using battlecruisers and battleships – like the famous HMS Dreadnought that marked the beginning of a new era in military shipbuilding or the Imperatritsa Mariya (“Empress Maria”), which is one the dreadnought-class battleships built by the Russian Empire right on time for World War I. USA, Germany and Japan also got their own battleships. The update also changes the naval fleet progression system, allowing new players to skip torpedo boats and start with destroyers to get to the largest ships much faster.

Aircraft fans are getting VTOL machines in the Harrier and Yak-38 families. They are equipped with a thrust vectoring propulsion system. In flight, pilots can vary the thrust nozzles’ angle to alter the flight characteristics of the aircraft – for example to perform tighter turns. Additionally, pilots will be able to perform helicopter-style attack runs or avoid enemy detection at low altitude. War Thunder players are also getting aircraft carriers that are suitable for machines of this era, namely, HMS Ark Royal, USS Forrestal and the Soviet aircraft cruiser Baku.

T-90A tank is finally arriving in War Thunder. It’s most distinctive feature is the Shtora electro-optical jammer and laser/IR warning system. Two groups of Shtora sensors on the tank turret look like giant eyes – that’s how you can easily recognise the T-90A in photos. Other nations also get interesting examples of modern armoured vehicles, like the US M1128 Stryker MGS, German Leopard 2A6 and French Leclerc S2.

“New Power” update brings numerous new features, like the interactive hangar or illuminating shells. There is going to be a Battle Pass system as well, allowing players to get prizes for participating in battles and completing daily and seasonal tasks. Rewards include not only cosmetic items, but premium vehicles as well, i.e. US F2G jet and Soviet Т-10А tank. Reward vehicles can be added to a player’s hangar or sold to other players on the market.

The full list of updates is available at the official War Thunder website.

The Cycle Steam Launch Postponed

YAGER has announced it has revised the release schedule for the official Steam launch of the action-packed quest shooter The Cycle from its original window of 2020 into the second quarter of 2021. With over 90% of its staff working remotely from home due to the pandemic, this added time will allow the team the freedom to more capably and comfortably deliver on its ambitions for the game’s future, which go far beyond the scope of development for a traditional season update.

“The decision to postpone was not an easy one, but the health of our employees is always our top priority. We also made a conscious decision against an intensive crunch phase in order to compensate for the time deficits caused by the pandemic,” says Henning Schmid, Head of Publishing at YAGER.

Out of commitment to its fans and to help bridge the waiting period, YAGER is extending the current Season 3 of The Cycle to Season 3.5 on Dec. 9, 2020, which will introduce new content for the community. The Fortuna Pass will expand with 50 new levels, packed with new weapon skins, outfits, and a vehicle, as well as new banners and sprays, now featuring special audio effects.

The Cycle is an action-packed multiplayer shooter that combines PvE and PvP. Your goal: complete more missions than the enemy within 20 minutes and escape off the hostile planet of Fortuna III alive. Resources gained can be used for weapon upgrades and other enhancements that will have a positive impact on future matches. The Cycle offers a competitive multiplayer survival experience in which you can play alone, squad up with friends, or join in uneasy alliances with strangers.
