Hardspace: Shipbreaker Gets The Haunted Frontier DLC

Blackbird Interactive and Focus Home Interactive’s acclaimed sandbox spaceship salvaging game Hardspace: Shipbreaker’s new “The Haunted Frontier” update is now live on Steam Early Access. This latest content drop introduces a ghostly ship type to discover and dismantle, new and perilous mysteries, collectible stickers, bug fixes and improvements. And what timing: you can grab the game for 25% off on Steam from now until Nov. 2!

Ghost ships are eerie, empty vessels that have been mysteriously drifting through space. Each wreck has dangerous AI nodes left behind by an unknown force which must be found and destroyed before the objects they are attached to are recycled. But as you do so, the ship’s condition will deteriorate: lights will malfunction, air might be sucked out of the room, and you may even hear something spooky! Any ship can be a ghost ship, bringing a new layer of challenge to the vessels you salvage.

The good news is you can now display your hard-earned achievements on your cutter with stickers! Completing certain tasks and lifetime goals will unlock these new badges of honor you can carry with you on the job.

Hardspace: Shipbreaker’s passionate community has proven hugely important to the game’s development in early access. Beyond new ships, components and optimizations, a number of highly requested features have already made their way into the game since release, including Open Shift mode, which lets players relax and play without time or oxygen restrictions, and the new Weekly Ship leaderboard RACE. Take a look at the game’s roadmap on Steam for a full look at what’s coming down the line — between new campaign acts, ships, tools and more, the adventure is just getting started!

Hardspace: Shipbreaker is available now on Steam Early Access and in development for consoles.

WRC 9 PlayStation 5 Gameplay Trailer

NACON and KT Racing are delighted to announce that WRC 9, the official video game of the FIA World Rally Championship, will be available on PlayStation®5 when they launch. See you on November 12 or 19 – according to the date of availability of the console in each country – for a stunning 4K 60FPS experience!

Acclaimed by players and critics since its release on PlayStation®4, Xbox One and PC on 3 September, the benchmark sim-racing series is about to write a new chapter in its story by accompanying the launch of the next generation of consoles.

Providing rally fans with all the official content of the Championship and multiple improvements, WRC 9 will now be playable at 60FPS for an even more immersive driving experience. PlayStation®5 console owners will be able to hone their driving skills in even more spectacular environments and enjoy an unparalleled feeling of speed in a WRC game.

“Like all gamers around the world, we couldn’t wait to try out the next generation of consoles. After many months of work, it’s an honour to be there on day one with one of our flagship titles,” said Benoit Clerc, Head of Publishing at NACON. The possibilities offered by the new consoles have allowed us to take WRC 9 to a new and incredible level of performance and smooth gameplay, further demonstrating KT Racing’s expertise in racing simulations.”

When WRC 9 releases on PlayStation®5, it will also include the October update that was released for current-generation consoles. The update includes six new stages for Rally Finland, an additional WRC driver and a brand-new Photo Mode.

On Playstation®5, KT Racing is using the new haptic features of the DualSense™ controller to develop and improve the feedback provided by the different road surfaces encountered in the World Rally Championship. Thanks to the subtle vibrations possible with the DualSense™ controller, players can experience the most realistic driving sensations yet and feel the difference between asphalt, gravel and snow, as well as the direction of impacts. In terms of gameplay, the controller’s innovative triggers have also been used to provide more feedback. They react to the vehicle’s condition, such as making acceleration harder when the car is damaged.

Finally, a free upgrade to the PlayStation®5 version of the game will be accessible to players already in possession of WRC 9 for PlayStation®4.

HUNT Unveils Halloween Event

Hunt’s very first Halloween Event starts today on PC. From now until November 4th, you’ll have the chance to unlock exclusive equipment, and a few other naughty treats. To get the gear, you’ll need to collect special Event Points, which you can do by heading down the bayou and:

  • Destroying pumpkins scattered through the world
  • Destroying the Butcher’s pumpkin head
  • Investigating a Halloween-themed Clue or Rift
  • Destroying pumpkins mounted on scarecrows

There’s a trick to boosting the points you earn with the Halloween-exclusive consumable – the Wormseed Shot. You’ll receive three of these to get you started – just for logging in during the event. You can equip up to four of them onto your Hunter in Bounty Hunt, and using one will increase the amount of Event Points earned in that match by 25%. And if you need more, you can buy them in the store using Blood Bonds. Using more than one will multiply the effect, and the effect will also apply to any Hunters on your team – so get your friends together and really rake in the points! In Quick Play, you cannot equip any Wormseed shots before a mission, but will find them as you go in the world.

It takes 1000 Event Points to unlock all the Halloween goodies. Up to 500 points you earn over that will be considered a Bonus and converted into Blood Bonds at the end of the event. Your additional Wormseed Shots will also be converted in Blood Bonds.

Each day, there’s a cap on the amount of Event Points which you can earn. On the first day, you will cap out at 200 points. Once you hit the cap for that day, you can still play the event, but you won’t rack up any more Event Points. On the second day, your point total caps out at 600. (If you capped out on day one with 200 points, then this means on day two, you can earn an additional 400 points.) On the third day of the event your points cap out at 1000. Every day after that (and until the end of the event), your Event Points will cap out at 1500. So lock yourself in for a full weekend of mischief and mayhem!

We hope you’ll have some fun spooking other Hunters and smashing up pumpkins in the Bayou during our event. Check back again tomorrow for more information on all the Halloween-themed gear you’ll be able to earn, and as always, happy hunting!
