30v30 Frontline Game Mode in Development for World of Tanks

April 10, 2017 — Wargaming today revealed its partnership with Austrian developer Bongfish, who brought over a decade of experience working with well-known publishers to bear on a new game mode for World of Tanks, dubbed Frontline. From today, players can put the new mode through its paces in the World of Tanks test server, Sandbox.

What can players expect from Frontline? Epic 30v30 tank clashes across vast 9 km2 battlefields, with one team pushing the assault while the other defends their territory. Over several rounds, the action spreads deeper behind defensive lines until a winner is declared.

“Players have been asking us for larger teams, bigger maps, and new combat setups for some time,” said Milos Jerabek, World of Tanks Development Director. “Wargaming’s distributed development approach made this a reality and we partnered with Bongfish to create the new mode—all while the in-house team for World of Tanks works on the game’s key mechanics. Bongfish has a ton of expertise to make it happen under our guidance. There’s true chemistry between the both of us, and we look forward to revealing what this collaboration brings to players.”

“We’ve been working on Frontline for a while now, and are excited to finally show it to the world,” said Michael Putz, Bongfish Founder and CEO. “We’re passionate about authentic gameplay and vast open spaces, and so are World of Tanks developers. By working with them, we can channel this passion to create something one of a kind for tankers to enjoy.”

Sandbox has been an integral component in improving the game as well as fostering a conversation between the players. Frontline marks the third time the game tests the waters in Sandbox to ensure World of Tanks continues going from strength to strength.

New Motorsport Manager From the Pit Wall Video Released

April 7, 2017 – SEGA and Playsport Games today released ‘Aerodynamics’, their fourth “From the Pit Wall” video for Motorsport Manager™. The great and good of the Formula 1 grid head north to Shanghai this weekend for the 14th staging of the Chinese GP, on a track renowned for its long back straight and sweeping corners, so it makes sense that the latest in our Motorsport Manager™ “From the Pit Wall” video series covers the ins, outs, ups and overs of aerodynamics.

Courtesy of F1 driver-cum-TV analyst Karun Chandhok, find out how important the front wing is for cutting through the air and sending it purposefully back over the rest of the car, thereby maximizing the performance of the other aero parts like the floor, rear wing and even the drivers’ helmets. With speeds of over 300 km/h tempered by hairpins and other low-speed areas in Shanghai, this weekend will typify how essential it is for teams to understand how best to balance their car for maximum speed down the straights while not sacrificing too much stability in the corners.

The Surge Trailer Looks at Loot and Equipment

April 6, 2016 – Deck13’s upcoming hardcore action-RPG The Surge comes to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on May 16, 2017. Today, the “Target, Loot and Equip” trailer highlights the game’s limb-slicing loot system in all its bloody, brutal glory.

The Surge empowers players by giving them control over what they loot from defeated enemies. Target specific body parts before damaging them with a combination of vertical and horizontal attacks; the dismembered part then determines which piece of equipment is looted―the schematic corresponding to the sliced armor part, salvaged materials for crafting the corresponding piece, or even the weapon wielded by the enemy. This means that when approaching an enemy, players face a difficult decision: do they target an unarmored body part for a shorter fight, or risk a lengthier, more damaging battle for a chance at slicing off a shiny new piece of equipment?

Balancing risk and reward is core to succeeding in The Surge, and bold players can walk away from a fight with amazing rewards. The toughest enemies drop the most powerful weapons and armor, so if you see a piece of equipment you like, you’ll need to fight hard for it―or die trying.

The Surge arrives May 16 and is available to pre-order now on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Visit the official website for more info.
