June 25, 2020 – We are proud to announce that Phantom: Covert Ops, for the Oculus Quest and Rift platforms, is now available for purchase on the Oculus Store for £22.99/$29.99/€29.99.

Seated in a military-grade tactical kayak, Phantom: Covert Ops immerses players in the role of an elite and deadly covert operative dispatched into remote, hostile wetlands with the sole aim of defeating disgraced former Soviet General, Nikolai Zhurov (played by David Hayter). Developed by nDreams and created in partnership with Oculus Studios, Phantom: Covert Ops has been described as “one of the most immersive VR games you’ll play this year” and has received numerous awards, including the E3 2019 Game Critics Award for Best VR Game, since its first showing last year.

“Phantom: Covert Ops has had so much passion, hard work and creativity poured into it by the team here at nDreams. They have delivered a truly immersive VR game and words can’t express how proud I am of them”, said Patrick O’Luanaigh, CEO. “I’ve been blown away by what they, along with the support of Oculus Studios, have achieved throughout development, especially on the Oculus Quest. This really is stealth action redefined for VR and we can’t wait for people to be able to play it.”

Phantom: Covert Ops is out now for Oculus Quest and Rift platforms on the Oculus Store.

Stellaris: Console Edition Gets New DLC Packs

STOCKHOLM – Jun 25, 2020 – Paradox Interactive today released the Apocalypse Expansion and Humanoids Species Pack for Stellaris: Console Edition. This release completes the game’s second expansion pass for PlayStation® 4 and Xbox One, which also includes the Synthetic Dawn Story Pack released earlier this year. Expansion Pass Two contains three DLC, previously released for the PC version, that further enrich the empires of ambitious spacefarers with new constructions, cosmetics, weapons, stories, and more. Players who have yet to pick up Expansion Pass Two can purchase it for the suggested retail price of $24.99 / £19.99 / €24.99 at the Microsoft and PlayStation stores.

Expansion Pass Two includes:

  • Apocalypse Expansion: Redefine stellar warfare with a host of new offensive and defensive options. Destroy entire worlds with terrifying new planet-killer weapons, fight against (or alongside) ruthless space pirates, and maybe discover a few non-violent game features as well.
  • Synthetic Dawn Story PackProvides an all-new way for players to establish their empire across the stars, starting the game as a Machine Empire — a society made up entirely of robots. Unique game features and event chains will allow the machines to expand as a robotic consciousness and create an AI-led network that grows to galactic dominance.
  • Humanoids Species PackFeatures a selection of new portraits and ship models for players who wish to forge their path among the stars as the irrepressible human race – or at least as a species that resembles future, spacefaring humans to some degree.

Featuring the same deep strategic gameplay as Paradox’s original Stellaris, with rich and diverse alien races and emergent storytelling, Stellaris: Console Edition puts the complexity of the galaxy at your thumbsticks. Whether you’re exploring the unknown, discovering the mysteries of the universe, or conquering it for the glory of your empire, console players have more inter-galactic strategy awaiting them than ever before. Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Announced for Netflix

June 25, 2020 – CD PROJEKT RED, Studio Trigger, and Netflix announce an all new original anime series CYBERPUNK: EDGERUNNERS set in the same universe as the upcoming game, Cyberpunk 2077. The series will premiere in 2022.

CYBERPUNK: EDGERUNNERS tells a standalone, 10-episode story about a street kid trying to survive in a technology and body modification-obsessed city of the future. Having everything to lose, he chooses to stay alive by becoming an edgerunner—a mercenary outlaw also known as a cyberpunk.

CD PROJEKT RED, the company behind the Cyberpunk 2077 video game, is producing the series, with a creative team formed of talent from The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, and Cyberpunk 2077. The team at CD PROJEKT RED has been working on this new series since 2018.
Acclaimed Japan-based animation company, Studio Trigger, will serve as the animation studio on the series and bring the world of Cyberpunk to life with their signature, vibrant style. Hiroyuki Imaishi (Gurren Lagann, Kill la Kill, Promare) will direct the series along with assistant director Masahiko Otsuka (Gurren Lagann, Promare), creative director Hiromi Wakabayashi (Kill la Kill), character designers Yoh Yoshinari (Little Witch Academia, BNA: Brand New Animal) and Yuto Kaneko(Little Witch Academia), and the adapted screenplay by Yoshiki Usa (SSSS.GRIDMAN, Promare) and Masahiko Otsuka (Gurren Lagann, Kill la Kill, Promare).
The original score will be composed by Akira Yamaoka (Silent Hill series).

“We are so excited to finally reveal that we are working on an anime in the Cyberpunk world,” said Adam Badowski, Cyberpunk 2077 Game Director and CD PROJEKT RED Head of Studio. “We’ve devoured just about all the cyberpunk fiction there is to watch, read, and play; it’s a genre that leaves so much room for creativity, and has had such a strong influence on us. CYBERPUNK: EDGERUNNERS is our love letter to cyberpunk as a whole, and to stories told in animated form.”

“We at TRIGGER are thrilled to work with CD PROJEKT RED to create a brand-new story set in the world of the highly anticipated Cyberpunk 2077. It’s a huge challenge to adapt this universe into an anime, but we are eager to face it head-on,” said Masahiko Otsuka, CEO, Studio TRIGGER. Director Hiroyuki Imaishi adds, “I’ve always loved cyberpunk as a genre, but always found it difficult to create as an original work. This is why I’m very excited to be working with CD PROJEKT RED on this project. It won’t be easy to please both game and anime fans, but I love a challenge, and I’m looking forward to the production. We’ll do our best to meet and exceed expectations.”
