The Dark Eye Classic Adventures Chains of Satinav and Memoria Coming to Consoles

Daedalic Entertainment today announced the launch date of the classic point-and-click adventures The Dark Eye: Chains of Satinav and The Dark Eye: Memoria for Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One, PlayStation 5 and 4. On January 27th, fans of the pen and paper fantasy role-playing game The Dark Eye, one of Europe’s most popular role-playing worlds, will be able to experience Daedalic’s classic adventures set within the world of Aventuria for the first time on consoles.

In The Dark Eye: Chains of Satinav players take on the role of bird catcher Geron, who is tasked with helping the king establish peace by catching suspicious crows that plague the notoriously superstitious and conflict-ridden kingdom of Andergast. However, not only does Geron’s task prove unexpectedly difficult, it also turns out to be the first step of the greatest adventure of his life – leading him to the borders of the charted lands of Aventuria and beyond.

In The Dark Eye: Memoria, players experience two thrilling stories in one. By traveling through different time periods, they follow the journey of Sadja, a southern princess who longs to be a war hero, and Geron, the main protagonist of The Dark Eye: Chains of Satinav, who wants to lift a curse from his girlfriend. The quest for answers soon leads to a chain of events that connects both Sadja’s and Geron’s stories, threatening to turn the present into a grim reflection of a long forgotten past.

The Medium Live-Action Trailer Released

Bloober Team, the studio behind acclaimed horror games including Blair Witch, Observer: System Redux and Layers of Fear, today released a live action trailer for its upcoming psychological horror title, The Medium.

The cinematic two-and-half-minute trailer was produced in cooperation with award-winning VFX and animation studio Platige Image, with academy award nominee Tomasz Bagiński serving as Writer and Creative Producer, and talented Paweł Maślona as Director.

The trailer brings to life in stunning detail the game’s unique atmosphere and art style inspired by painter Zdzisław Beksiński – in addition the key characters central to the game’s mystery, including Marianna the titular medium, an enigmatic man named Thomas, a spirit called Sadness, and The Maw, a deceptive and hostile entity who can travel between the material and spirit world.

“The Medium is a game with a very strong narrative backbone. The most important thing for me was to understand what the essence of this story is, who its heroes are and its tone,” said Writer & Creative Producer, Bagiński. “The task was to lean as hard as possible on the emotional side of the story while trying to keep as many of the twists as possible a secret. The script is supposed to build a certain mood rather than reveal a story.”

Bagiński is an academy award-nominated and Bafta-winning filmmaker, visualist and storyteller. He was responsible for directing the now-iconic cinematics for such games as The Witcher series and Cyberpunk 2077, as well as Microsoft and Ubisoft productions.

While the live-action trailer takes a thematic, atmospheric and character-driven approach to The Medium, Bloober Team also recently released an extended 14-minute gameplay trailer that can be seen at the following link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PJi-7Ue_7ms. Players will be able to fully recognize and appreciate the many references and interesting details included as part of the live-action trailer once they have the chance to play the game later this month.

“The Medium is our biggest and most ambitious project to date,” said Piotr Babieno, CEO, Bloober Team. “When we thought who could write a live action trailer for the game, Tomasz Bagiński quickly became the most natural choice. After all, his Oscar-nominated The Cathedral was also inspired by the art of Zdzisław Beksiński, just like the spirit world in our game. I’m personally very happy that we could create something together.”

Players can head to www.themediumgame.com to preorder on Steam, Epic Games Store and the Microsoft Store at the price of $49.99/€49.99/£41.74 with a 10% off discount before launch. Players who pre order via Steam will receive The Medium Original Soundtrack (by Akira Yamaoka and Arkadiusz Reikowski) and The Art of The Medium (digital artbook).

Developed and published by Bloober Team, and rated “M for Mature” by the ESRB and PEGI 18, The Medium will launch on Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store and the Microsoft Store on Jan. 28.

CORSAIR®, a world leader in high-performance gaming peripherals and enthusiast components, today announced a new series of mid-tower ATX cases to suit nearly any build: the CORSAIR 5000D, 5000D AIRFLOW, and the iCUE 5000X RGB. Every 5000 Series case offers simple and tidy cable management thanks to the CORSAIR RapidRoute cable management system, terrific cooling from included fans featuring CORSAIR AirGuide technology, and a spacious interior that fits multiple radiators, including two 360mm simultaneously. Between the understated styling of the 5000D, the optimized airflow of the 5000D AIRFLOW, and the eye-catching RGB lighting behind four beautiful tempered glass panels of the 5000X RGB, the 5000 Series has a case to meet any builder’s priorities.

Debuting in the recently launched 4000 Series, the CORSAIR RapidRoute cable management system has proven to be a hit with PC builders looking to minimize the hassle of cable routing while still achieving a clean, professional look for their system. The 5000 Series takes RapidRoute even further, with a concealed cutout, wide enough to fit all major connectors to your motherboard, and multiple removable routing channels through which you can run all your cables out of sight. With a generous 25mm of cable routing depth behind the motherboard, and a magnetic door behind which to hide your cabling, it’s exceptionally easy to build a top-tier PC that also looks the part.

The 5000D and 5000D AIRFLOW include two 120mm fans with CORSAIR AirGuide technology, built with anti-vortex vanes that concentrate airflow for enhanced cooling directed towards your PC’s hottest components. The 5000X RGB goes a step further with three included SP120 RGB ELITE AirGuide fans equipped with eight individually addressable RGB LEDs each, controlled by an included iCUE Lighting Node CORE controller and CORSAIR iCUE software.

The spacious interior of all three cases offers great cooling potential, with room for up to 10x 120mm or 4x 140mm cooling fans. A specialized motherboard tray with customizable fan mounts enables you to install an additional 360mm radiator into the side of a 5000 Series case to bolster your cooling. With room for up to 4x 2.5in SSDs and 2x 3.5in HDDs, along with a host of front panel I/O connections including a USB 3.1 Type-C port and 2x USB 3.0 ports, the 5000 Series has all of your needs covered.

With the full range of features available in all three cases, the only choice is which style you prefer. The 5000D is equipped with a minimalist solid steel front panel, complete with dedicated ventilation channels for air intake. The 5000D AIRFLOW’s steel front panel is perforated with triangular cutouts for maximum airflow to your components. The 5000X RGB makes for a breathtaking build encased in four tempered glass panels, perfect for displaying the vibrant RGB lighting from the included SP RGB ELITE fans and all your RGB components. Whichever case from the 5000 Series you choose, one thing is clear: you’ll have an immaculate build that keeps its cool.

Monstrum 2 New Early Access Teaser Trailer

BAFTA-nominated and Dundee-based developer Junkfish is excited to announce that Monstrum 2, the asymmetric survival-horror game, will enter Steam Early Access on January 28th, 2021.

The multiplayer sequel to the cult-favourite original, Monstrum 2 features new monsters, new puzzles, and new procedurally-generated environments, as up to four prisoners attempt to escape Sparrow Lock, a sea-stranded research facility, from one of its monstrous experiments.

Will you escape Sparrow Lock?

As a prisoner, explore Sparrow Lock to clear obstacles, unlock new areas, and find useful items that can help you outwit the monster. But remember: stay hidden and out of sight. If spotted, you’ll enter an intense game of cat-and-mouse, vaulting and sliding your way to safety if you hope to survive the chase.

Combining first-person stealth gameplay with a puzzle-first focus on survival horror, players will need to strategize a means of escape together, rather than confronting the monster head-on. With scalable difficulty adjusting to the number of players and procedurally generated layouts, traps, rooms, and puzzles, no playthrough will be the same!

Or relish the thrill of the hunt?

Master three distinct monsters when Monstrum 2 launches on Steam Early Access, each with their own unique abilities and playstyle. Smash through walls, climb on ceilings, leap across distances, or teleport to your prey. Each monster leverages the environment in unique ways to ambush unsuspecting players.

Revealed in the brand-new trailer today, players will be able to terrify their competition with the Malacosm; a molluscan, Lovecraftian nightmare. Place locator traps to damage prisoners and teleport across the map, phase through walls, and take a glimpse through your prey’s eyes with the clairvoyance skill for a hint to where they’re hiding.

Open Beta Weekend

In anticipation of launch, Monstrum 2 will also receive an Open Beta weekend on January 23-24. Join on Steam to be among the first to scavenge the depths of Sparrow Lock and all the horror contained within.
