The Next Generation’s Gates McFadden Has Her Own Podcast

NacelleCast, the people behind Netflix’s The Movies That Made Us, The Toys That Made Us, and Down To Earth with Zac Efron, as well as Disney+’s Behind The Attraction announced that actress, director and choreographer, Gates McFadden, will debut her new podcast InvestiGates: Who Do You Think You Are? through Nacelle’s podcast network on May 12th. The company recently opened NacelleCast Studios, a state-of-the-art podcast studio next to their production offices in Burbank, which serves as the main podcast studio for all NacelleCast productions.

Gates McFadden InvestiGates: Who Do You Think You Are? is a limited podcast series where Gates invites some of her best friends such as Jonathan Frakes, LeVar Burton, Will Wheaton, Brent Spiner, Marina Sirtis, Michael Dorn, John Delancie, Robert Picardo, Michael Westmore, Nana Visitor, Denise Crosby and more to have one on one, intimate conversations unlike any Star Trek fan has ever seen or heard before. Whether you’re the biggest Trekkie, or a casual watcher, this podcast offers never before heard stories from some of the people who made Star Trek one of the most successful franchises in history.

Gates McFadden is an actress and choreographer best known for her portrayal of Dr. Beverly Crusher on Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: First Contact, Star Trek: Generations, Star Trek: Insurrection and Star Trek: Nemesis. Early in her career, Gates worked at The Jim Henson Company working behind the scenes as a Director of Choreography and Puppet Movement on films such as Labyrinth and Dreamchild.

For many years, she was a faculty member of some of the most prestigious university theatre departments in the USA, and was honored with the George Burns Teaching Fellowship while teaching at USC. A NYC actor who transferred to Los Angeles when she was cast on Star Trek, she nevertheless continued acting and directing in LA. While Artistic Director of EST/LA, she built the multi-space Atwater Village Theatre which has become a theatre headquarters in Los Angeles.

“I can’t say I know the ins and outs of podcasting, although I am learning, but I do know how to be funny and silly, serious and truthful, and ultimately, how to have lively conversations with my extraordinary group of close friends from the Star Trek series. An no, we don’t dissect the episodes, we speak about our lives,” said Gates McFadden.

“We’re deeply honored to be releasing Gates’ first podcast! I’ve been a Trekkie for over 35 years, and I’ve learned more from these shows than the last 100 conventions I’ve gone to combined!” said Brian Volk-Weiss, Founder and CEO of The Nacelle Company.

As the FIA World Rally Championship prepares to celebrate its 50th season in 2022, NACON and development studio KT Racing are unveiling WRC 10, the latest instalment of the official video game of the championship. Building on the success of WRC 9, in which over 200,000 special stages are played every day, the French studio and publisher are adding a range of improvements and new features for this anniversary edition. With WRC 10 you will relive the most intense moments of the Championship, from 1973 to the present day! NACON who has become a key player in racing games publishing over the last few years will make additional surprises and announcements in the upcoming days.

50 years of rallying

To celebrate 50 years of the competition, WRC 10 offers a unique anniversary edition, bursting with new features and driving thrills. A retrospective mode offers players the chance to relive 19 events that have shaped the history of the Championship. These challenging special stages put drivers’ skills to the test by imposing conditions specific to each era. Drive six historic rallies, including the legendary Acropolis Rally (Greece) and Rallye Sanremo (Italy), with over 20 of the WRC’s most iconic cars: Alpine, Audi, Lancia, Subaru, Ford, Mitsubishi, Toyota… With more content than ever, fans will love WRC 10 and its homage to 50 years of rallying.

Even more immersive

The physics, which have already been praised by critics and drivers in WRC 9, have been further improved to offer players an even more realistic experience. Control of aerodynamic forces, the turbo and braking have received particular attention on all surfaces, so that WRC 10 recreates ever more accurate and intense driving sensations. Covenant, a new Polish game development studio founded by former CD PROJEKT RED and 11 bit studios producer Stan Just, is thrilled to announce its first game. Gord is a single player, adventure strategy title set in a grim fantasy world inspired by Slavic folklore. The unique survival, quest, and city-builder elements will keep players on their toes as they play through the procedurally generated scenarios. Gord will be available on PC and is launching in 2022. Independent games publisher Versus Evil in partnership with multi award winning development studio Mad About Pandas today announced that the atmospheric first-person mystery game, Hitchhiker – A Mystery Game, is arriving on PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on April 15th. The game was launched on Apple Arcade last month.

In Hitchhiker, players find themselves on a mysterious journey along a dusty highway with no recollection of who they are or where they are going. Players piece together their memories by catching rides with strangers across the country who provide clues to your character’s past and solutions to various environmental puzzles.

Indie game developer Mercury Game Studio is proud to announce a Crowdfunding campaign via KickStarter to support the completion of Tyrant’s Blessing, a single-player tactical turn-based strategy game with roguelike elements inspired by award-winning indie classic, Into The Breach by Subset Games. Tyrant’s Blessing is scheduled for an official PC, Mac and Linux release by Q1 2022 with a fully playable Alpha build to be released later this year. To win the game, you must salvage weapons, equipment, and supplies from your fallen enemies and assemble your team of heroes to reclaim your homeland.

Tyrant’s Blessing tells the gripping story of Tyberia overrun by the Dead Army. With emphasis on tactical combat, you will face dozens of challenging battles in a predictive-turn style environment. Played on a series of small and compact maps, you must defeat the Dead Army. With every battlefield claimed by the forces of darkness, their numbers grow, and victory falls farther out of reach. You must put an end to this, before the invasion becomes a rout. You have different locations to choose from, each offering a different challenge and resource awards, and before engaging in combat, it is critical to analyze your enemy’s forces to prevail. Pets are included within the game to support your roster of heroes; they cost less to deploy and are not as powerful. They each offer a unique skillset and may be a deciding factor on your quest to victory.

Tyrant’s Blessing is the debut title by the developer and is off to a great start; the game is fully playable, and the core mechanics have all been implemented. Currently, more units, skills and polishing of different gaming elements are in production. The funding campaign has almost reached 50% of its target goal in less than a week, and fans of the genre are excited to partake in the project.
