F1 2018 Third Developer Diary

Larkspur, Calif. – Aug. 9, 2018 – Codemasters® has today released the third part in a series of developer diaries for F1 2018, the official videogame of the 2018 FIA FORMULA ONE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP™, detailing how the new game boasts the most authentic F1 car handling simulation ever seen in the franchise.

The third of the four part series, which is available to watch now at www.youtube.com/formula1game, reveals that F1 2018’s car simulation and handling has significantly advanced this year, with revamped suspension and chassis physics, the addition of real world F1 data for unprecedented accuracy, new “tire carcass” temperature for the first time, as well as manual deployment of the ERS system. The ultimate result of these enhancements is that the gamer can experience the pure sensation of the tire tearing into the track surface, and therefore giving a realistic and relatable feeling of grip, under all wear, compounds and weather conditions.

“I believe F1 2018 is a massive step up, because we’ve introduced so many more simulation aspects that I believe will be very well received by all the players,” commented David Greco, senior car handling designer on F1 2018. “To choose which one is the most important and advanced is quite hard, but I would probably say it is the expanded system which enables us to simulate the tire temperature more realistically than we have ever done before.”

He continued: “This year, the way the car feels, with the ‘Force Feedback,’ and how it all works together, we are very close to what I want from a simulator. In over 20 years of my career between sim racing and real motorsport, I have always come across questions like: ‘one title is more simulator than another title, because it’s very difficult to drive?’ With my real motorsport experience, I can say that real racing cars are made to have a lot of grip. To me, a simulator is not how easy it is to drive or how easy to make it spin. To me, a simulation is how many real-life, physical components we simulate, and especially this year, there are not many features that I can think of that we don’t simulate. To just call it a game to me is not enough anymore.”

F1 2018 features all the official teams, the drivers and all 21 circuits of the thrilling 2018 season, including Circuit Paul Ricard and the Hockenheimring. As well as the current season’s offerings the game includes 20 iconic cars from the history of the sport. F1 2018 will release onto PlayStation® 4 computer entertainment system, the Xbox One family of devices including the Xbox One X and Windows PC on Aug. 24, 2018.

Telltale Games The Walking Dead: The Final Season Official Trailer

SAN RAFAEL, Calif., August 9th, 2018 — Leading publisher and developer Telltale Games and Robert Kirkman’s Skybound Entertainment today launched the official trailer for The Walking Dead: The Final Season, providing the deepest dive yet into the upcoming season premiere. Episode one, ‘Done Running,’ will introduce new visuals, mechanics, and characters to the series, and commence the final chapter in Clementine’s journey. Episode one of The Final Season will be available for download starting August 14, 2018 on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One across all regions. The Final Season will also launch digitally on Nintendo Switch on August 14 in North America and later this month in Europe and other regions. Coffee Talk Gets a Demo

The Coming Storm Launches for Dauntless

VANCOUVER, BC – August 8, 2018 Phoenix Labs has launched The Coming Storm, the first content update for the the studio’s co-op action-RPG, Dauntless. Available now to download and play for free, The Coming Storm introduces a range of new content to the game, vastly expanding the world of Dauntless for the more than 2 million Slayers that have battled across the Shattered Isles together. The Coming Storm kicks off with the fierce Behemoth, Koshai, wreaking havoc across the Shattered Isles. Bearing the title The Sovereign of Thorns, Koshai is a vicious beast that can tear apart the strongest armor with its powerful thorns and vines and is sure to be one of the most fearsome opponents Slayers have faced yet.

Koshai brings a distinct and deadly change to the Shattered Isles, causing the other Behemoths to evolve and change beyond their usual behavior and form. Slayers can expect a new spin on classic encounters, challenging even their most skilled tactics. To help combat Koshai, Slayers now have access to an assortment of craftable grenades that offer ranged attacks with dramatic effects.

Over the coming weeks, additional content will be added to Dauntless, including new exotic gear, culminating in Slayers gaining access to the first fully ranged weapon, the Ostian Repeaters. This new modular weapon will allow Slayers to customize and tailor their loadout, further complimenting their playstyle. DeathGarden Steam Early Access Launch Trailer

MONTREAL, Canada  Aug. 8, 2018  Behaviour® Digital has revealed that DEATHGARDEN™ will enter Steam Early Access on Aug. 14, kicking off with a free week of gameplay for all players until Aug. 21. Set in the near future, DEATHGARDEN is an asymmetrical multiplayer game where a powerful Hunter preys in first-person on a team of five agile Runners playing in third-person in fast-paced matches.

Dual Universe Public Roadmap Announced

PARIS, FRANCE – August 8, 2018  Today, Novaquark is excited to blow the lid off a detailed roadmap, charting the development of civilization building MMO, Dual Universe, through launch. Beginning with its first Alpha test in November 2018, Novaquark plans to continue expanding its sci-fi universe until it hits Beta in the first half of 2020 and officially launches in the latter half of 2020. Maintaining momentum towards Alpha, though, the team has raised an additional 3.5 million dollars, bringing the total funding of the project, including backer support, to over 11 million dollars, which will be used to hire new, passionate staff, accelerate development and keep everything moving to the roadmap’s timeline.

Control Dev Diary 3

August 8, 2018 – Remedy Entertainment, the studio behind breakout hits Max Payne and Alan Wake released its latest dev diary for Control, the highly-anticipated supernatural action adventure game.

The dev diary looks to reveal just a bit more about the cagey title, which has had only limited details revealed so far.

Remedy’s studio members, including well-renown Creative Director Sam Lake, discuss the game’s setting called The Oldest House which is the headquarters of the Federal Bureau of Control, an ever-changing world within a location where nothing is what it seems to be.
