Stellaris: Console Edition Third Expansion Release Date

Paradox Interactive today announced the third expansion pass for Stellaris: Console Edition on PlayStation® 4 and Xbox One, coming to players on Tuesday, September 15. This expansion pass contains three new DLC packs that will roll out through the end of 2020 and into early 2021. These expansions enhance console gamers’ intergalactic journey through the Stellaris universe by introducing new stories, species, and an impressive portfolio of new gameplay mechanics to Stellaris: Console Edition. The first to launch is the Distant Stars story pack, which will release on September 15. A list of the DLC content coming to Stellaris: Console Edition in the third expansion pass in order of release is below:

  • Distant Stars Story Pack (Sept. 15)  With this story pack, players uncover new anomalies and encounter strange beings while exploring space’s uncharted depths. This story pack adds new constellations to explore and close to 50% more anomalies for players to encounter. Exploration will be rewarded as players gain technology, resources, and valuable worlds to colonize.
  • MegaCorp Expansion (2021) – MegaCorp is all about giving players the keys to the economy. The expansion introduces new tools to usher in an era of prosperity and profit or despair and corporate slavery, on a galactic scale. In this economy-focused expansion, you become the CEO of a powerful corporate empire to open branch offices across the stars. The economy can be ruthless when it’s all about the bottom line, but with MegaCorp, players can wield a number of profit-oriented features to build an empire anchored in the glorious ideals of space capitalism.
  • Lithoids Species Pack (2021) – Meet the Lithoids, a species made entirely of sapient rock who eat minerals for sustenance, are long-lived, and can colonize in almost any environment. Players can look forward to trying out the entirely new Lithoid play style that focuses on mineral production, relentless colonization of even the most marginal worlds, and refusing to cede an inch of your empire – for…“sedimental” value.

The second expansion pass for Stellaris: Console Edition will be available for PlayStation® 4 and Xbox One on September 15 at a suggested retail price of $24.99 / £19.99 / €24.99.

GRAVEN Revealed At Realms Deep 2020

GRAVEN, the dark-fantasy action-adventure FPS co-published by 3D Realms and 1C Entertainment with development by Slipgate Ironworks, launches on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch, and PC in 2021.

Revealed at Realms Deep 2020, GRAVEN delves into a gruesome medieval world of deities and monstrosities as a disgraced Priest of the Orthogonal Order. When a heretical member of the Order sacrifices the Priest’s adoptive daughter, the Priest lethally retaliates in a bout of righteous fury. Tried and found guilty by his brothers and now exiled to the burning sands, he closes his eyes for one last prayer, for peace. The Creator speaks to him directly: “You will have to earn your peace.”

Heed the Creator by hunting down the foul heretical sects responsible for conjuring plagues and twisting the natural order of the seasons. Blending action, exploration, and puzzle-solving, GRAVEN takes cues from classic shooters, immersive sims, and action RPGs alike. Journey across three expansive, open-ended regions, and scour the lands to purge evil.

Carefully observe a reactive world to find the way: with a journal, the player drives the exploration instead of following waypoints. Listen to townsfolks’ woes and slay the monsters responsible for their torment. Banish over thirty distinct enemies from plagued madmen to swamp beasts with powerful sorceries such as wild blasts of lightning and scorching rays of flame. Solve environmental puzzles with those same powers, altering the world with spells.

Wield destructive conventional weaponry, including magic staves and wrist-mounted crossbows. Find hidden gold to upgrade weapons and spells at blacksmiths and alchemists. Return to previously-plundered areas with new abilities to uncover secrets and entirely new areas. With more than 30 weapons and spells, GRAVEN encourages experimentation. Play solo, with one friend in split-screen co-op, or even in a party of four online for complete arcane chaos.

“GRAVEN began as a game we had often dreamed of,” said Frederik Schreiber, vice president of 3D Realms and Game Director on Graven. “‘What would a spiritual successor to a Dark Fantasy series such as Hexen, have looked like if it was made in 1998 in the original Unreal engine?’ We think the answer is GRAVEN. We hope you do too.”

GRAVEN will be available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch, and PC in 2021. For more information please explore the official websites for GRAVEN, 3D Realms, 1C Entertainment and Slipgate Ironworks, or follow 1C Entertainment on Facebook and/or Twitter.

Path of Exile: Heist Official Trailer

Grinding Gear Games announced today that Path of Exile’s third major expansion in 2020, Heist, will launch September 18 (PDT) on PC and Mac, and September 23 (PDT) on the PlayStation®4 and Xbox One Consoles. In Heist, players will hire a crew of specialized thieves to assist them with infiltrating secure facilities to retrieve valuable Artifacts. While bypassing security, they must be careful not to trigger the alarm or they’ll be overrun with guards. Retrieving the artifact will automatically trigger the alarm and players will have to make a mad dash to the extraction point. If they can’t escape, they’ll lose everything they stole.

“The experience of knowing exactly what rewards you’ll lose if you can’t successfully complete the Heist is a new type of game tension we’re excited to explore. It’s all about the rush of the escape.” – Mark, Path of Exile Game Director

Successfully completing Heists lays the groundwork for a thief’s ultimate goal – pulling off a Grand Heist. You’ll need to gather wealth and intel to reveal the Blueprints of sprawling facilities where the Grand Heist will take place. To make sure it proceeds without a hitch, you’ll masterfully plan which crew members to take with you and ensure they’re both well-trained and equipped for the job. Grand Heists provide access to many tempting new rewards like Alternate Quality Gems which enable more build variety, Weapon and Body Armor Enchantments which provide more power, Replica Uniques which are mutated remakes of classic items, and Thieves’ Trinkets which give you more control over your rewards.

“Heist explores some concepts that we have always wanted to try in Path of Exile,” said Chris Wilson, Grinding Gear Games Co-Founder and Managing Director. “With new guard formation and patrol AI, low-level equivalents to end-game maps, equippable hireling NPCs, and the chance of losing your rewards if you can’t escape with them, this league explores some corners of Path of Exile’s design philosophy that we had not yet entered.”

Path of Exile: Heist Key Features Include
● Download and play for free but never pay-to-win.
● The Heist Challenge League
● 13 new active NPCs which have rich backstories, advanceable skills, and can be equipped with new craftable items.
● A new town-like area, The Rogue Harbour.
● Itemized world-areas that contain Heists and can be accessed from the outset of your character progress.
● New Item Types: Alternate Quality Gems, Replica Unique Items, Thief’s Trinkets, Experimented Base Types, Body Armour and Weapon Enchants.
● Seven new skills alongside reworks to existing Curses, Spells and Steel Skills.
● Over 25 New Unique Items.
● A new equipment slot for Trinkets.
● Now available on macOS.

Heist is one of Grinding Gear Game’s most ambitious expansions yet. Development initially began in March before New Zealand experienced a mandatory government-issued lockdown because of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Due to the enormous scope of the expansion and the challenges of working from home, Heist’s release date was moved to September, with the smaller Harvest league released in June. Ironically, several key weeks of Heist’s development continued in lockdown after restrictions returned to New Zealand in August. Continuing to pull off a 13-week development cycle with a project as significant as Heist under working from home conditions was a challenge but well worth it.

World of Warships Celebrates 5th Anniversary

World of Warships celebrates its fifth anniversary this September with a massive new update that’s going live today, bringing a new permanent campaign commemorating naval history through the ages, a new Dockyard featuring the Tier VIII cruiser U.S. Anchorage, a new battle type and loads of festive bonuses for the players.

Update 0.9.8 introduces a new permanent campaign titled “Five Epochs of the Navy” that honors the history of shipbuilding. Naval aficionados can travel through different eras in the history of shipbuilding by completing 50 tasks across five missions. Successfully finishing the task will unlock an Epoch permanent camouflage, which can be applied to Tier IX ships. The new campaign also comes with the Five Epochs of the Navy collection, which will take the players on a journey through five different historical eras of naval engineering. Elements of the collection can be obtained by containers of the same name.

Update 0.9.8 will also see the launch of a new temporary battle type – Asymmetric Battle – which will be available during the first two weeks of the anniversary celebrations. Historically, real naval battles frequently had an uneven number of combatants on each side, proving that tactics and strategy is the key to win over powerful enemies. In Asymmetric Battle, a team of five to seven Tier VII–VIII ships will fight against teams of nine to twelve ships of Tiers V–VI. By winning battles, players will earn a new temporary resource – Battle Tokens.

Players can build a new U.S. Tier VIII cruiser, the Anchorage, in a new Dockyard construction event. Anchorage’s in-game build comprises 20 phases, with 18 of them available to be finished by completing Directives. By completing all phases – also possible by spending doubloons – players will be awarded with the Anchorage and her National camouflage, a 10-skill Commander, a port slot, and a commemorative flag.

Furthermore, Update 0.9.8 allows players to receive a festive bonus for their first victory in this update on every ship starting from Tier V. Rewards include 2x World of Warships Anniversary camouflages for Tiers V–VII, 1x Gift container for Tier VIII that contains 5 special signals, 2x Gift containers for Tier IX, and 1x supercontainer for Tier X. On top of that, this new update also starts a new season of Ranked Battles for Tier X ships with 8vs8 format and deploys new visual improvements such as enhanced fog.

Further details on Update 0.9.8 can be found here.
