WRC 9 Creative Director Interview Video

For Gamescom, NACON and KT Racing are pleased to provide a complete overview of the new features included in WRC 9, the official video game of the FIA World Rally Championship. A few days before release, Alain Jarniou, Creative Director at KT Racing, discusses the game’s improvements in a new video.

Watch the interview of Alain Jarniou:

The 2020 WRC season has had a number of changes due to the pandemic. Several rallies were cancelled, including three iconic countries that are featured in the game for the first time. This is a chance for fans to console themselves and try out three new circuits.

  • The legendary Rally Kenya with its exotic landscapes alternating between wide-open savannah and small villages with very narrow roads
  • New Zealand, a very technical gravel rally with multiple bends in quick succession
  • Japan, a rally on asphalt based in Nagoya with narrow mountain roads

The simulation aspect has been updated again this year with multiple redesigned elements, including the dynamics, AI, vehicle behavior and driving sensations. All players can also fine-tune their cars before taking them for a test drive in different conditions on the free-roam zone’s roads.

A major new feature this year is the Clubs mode, which allows players to create their own championship and make it available for their friends or the whole community. They can select the vehicle category, championship conditions and up to eight special stages in their choice of country – a mode eagerly awaited by the community!

WRC 9 will have a longer lifespan thanks to several free updates after the game’s release. The new content to be added includes the Co-driver mode, where two players can play together as a team online and enjoy the real rally experience. For an even more complete game, a photo mode will also be added, as well as new cars, teams and special stages in the Portugal and Finland rallies.

Italian Navy Joins World of Warships: Legends

World of Warships: Legends brings in the first Italian warships, a new collaboration with Transformers, and a new system for players to manage and upgrade their camouflage. The Veni, Vidi, Vici update also ushers in a new campaign to earn the tough Italian Tier VII battleship Roma, French destroyers are leaving early access, and a handful of other improvements are inbound. With so many new features coming this update, there’s even more to dive into in Legends.

The new Italian nation comes with a line of Cruisers in early access and a cadre of four new commanders for players to incorporate into their fleet. The new Alberto da Giussano, Raimondo Montecuccoli, Trento, and Zara are available this update in early access, representing the core fighting cruisers of the Regia Marina during the Second World War. These cruisers are quite maneuverable and have a Smoke Generator Consumable that allows them to create concealment whenever they need it. Combined with reliable armament and torpedoes, these cruisers are ready to join battle.

To reinforce the new nation, the new Veni, Vidi, Vici campaign stars the elegant Italian battleship Roma. Fast, Agile, and well-protected, the Roma is able to navigate through various threats on the high seas. Plus, her high-velocity and quickly traversing 381mm guns help her deal with even the toughest enemy vessels. The Veni, Vidi, Vici campaign will run for 5 weeks and has 100 milestones to progress through. However, Italian ships aren’t the only new things coming this update.

Later this September, four new Transformers-themed Commanders will be here to lead your warships into battle! Optimus Prime, Megatron, Bumblebee, and Rumble become Warships in Disguise, powering up your fleet with their unique inspirations, abilities, and voiceovers. Each one also has a special skin available for a particular ship. Optimus Prime leads the way from the Iowa, Megatron rules the seas aboard Bismarck, Bumblebee races to the front in Fletcher, and Rumble shakes things up in the Tashkent. There are also special camos, patch parts, and more available for players to use in battle.
The Veni, Vidi, Vici update brings a new feature for players to manage and upgrade camouflage for their ships. Now, players can convert consumable camouflage into paint or a permanent paint job for their ship! This will make the customization of their ships in-game even easier, while also adding a new way to progress and improve their fleet!

Coming in at high speed are the French destroyers! In this update the full line is available for players to research, including the top of the line gunboat–Le Fantasque. Fast-paced and very well armed, the Le Fantasque is a large destroyer with a Main Battery Reload Booster instead of a Smoke Generator. This allows skilled captains to unleash devastating bursts of damage onto their enemies!

There are plenty of new additions to the game coming in the Veni, Vidi, Vici Update. Get ready to conquer the seas and Turn the Tide!

Solasta: Crown of the Magister Coming to Early Access this Fall

French developer Tactical Adventures announced at Gamescom this weekend that its upcoming Tactical RPG Solasta: Crown of the Magister is coming to Steam Early Access this Fall. The news was announced in an exclusive trailer that shows some of the games unique features including light and verticality along with gameplay of a party of four heroes traversing through the magical world of Solasta and one of the beasts they encounter along the way.

Wizards of the Coast has granted Tactical Adventures a license to use the Dungeons & Dragons SRD 5.1 content and rules in Solasta: Crown of the Magister.

Solasta: Crown of the Magister is a team-based adventure game where each character plays a critical role in the campaign and can be a hero. The dynamic and mysterious world features elements of verticality, allowing players to use their surroundings as an element of strategy. Players can position ranged characters on high vantage points or send their thief down into shafts and caverns to scope out what lies ahead. In Solasta: Crown of the Magister, light is a tool to explore the depths and hollows of dungeons or can be used as a weapon against the creatures of the dark, but if players aren’t careful, it will give away the party’s position to nasty creatures bent on their demise.

Werewolf: The Apocalypse – Earthblood Cahal Trailer

To coincide with Gamescom, NACON and Cyanide are pleased to share more information about Werewolf: The Apocalypse – Earthblood through a trailer that reveals the life and past of the video game’s protagonist, Cahal.

Watch the trailer for Werewolf: The Apocalypse – Earthblood now:

Cahal is a werewolf of the Fianna tribe. Married and father to a daughter, he suffers a tragic fate that forces him into exile. He must flee those he loves to protect them from his rage: his beloved wife, Ludmila; his daughter, Aedana, who he loves more than anyone; and his best friends Rodko and Ava, who have his back no matter what. Endron, the petroleum subsidiary for the mega corporation Pentex, is solely responsible for all his rage and violence. Having ruined his life and remaining a constant threat to Gaia, Mother Earth, Cahal is consumed by a single goal: to put an end to Endron by whatever means necessary.

Werewolf: The Apocalypse – Earthblood is the first action-RPG game adapted from the eponymous horror franchise. Mature, brutal, and complex, it invites the player to embody Cahal throughout his quest of bloody redemption. He’ll play an essential role in the great war led by the Garous against Pentex, whose activities are devastating the natural world.

Blood Bowl 3 Announcement Trailer

Strap on your boots, don your helmet, adjust your shoulder guards and chest plate… and slip a sharpened dagger into your belt (it’s the rules): NACON and Cyanide studio are pleased to announce Blood Bowl 3, the new video game adaptation of the cult Games Workshop board game. Planned for release in early 2021, the game will be available on PlayStation®4, PlayStation®5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Steam and Nintendo Switch.

Blood Bowl 3 is the videogame of fantasy football. A turn-based strategy game inspired by American football in the Warhammer fantasy world where elves, humans, orcs and other creatures fight for the ball with shoulder charges, kicks, punches and weapons of varying degrees of lethality (and legality by the ref). As the coach, you must give instructions to your players: hinder the progress of your opponents by positioning them in your tackle zone, knock down those who get in your way, and break through to your opponents’ end zone to score a touchdown!

All your units can gain experience and receive statistic bonuses or new skills. However, be careful: injuries are common, especially when the referee is a goblin who tends to overlook most forms of violence. Some players may even leave the field limp and lifeless, putting an early and definitive end to their careers.

Blood Bowl 3 is a faithful adaptation of the Games Workshop board game, which is to receive a new edition this year. The game will use the new edition rules, teams (including the new Black Orcs and Imperial Nobility), units and associated skills. The best strategists will obviously be at an advantage, but will that be enough? All it takes is one unfortunate roll of the dice to change the course of a match.

Funnier, bloodier and more spectacular than ever, Blood Bowl 3 will be a hit with fans of the universe and competitive players alike. At launch, the game will include 12 races, each with their own arena and team of cheerleaders, campaign and multiplayer modes, and loads of customization options. Regular content updates will be added after launch.
