Hazard 4 Waistland MOLLE Load Belt Review

hazard-4-waistland-belt-2

Hazard 4 has a lauded history in designing and making tactical/survival gear. We recently got the chance to take a look at their Waistland MOLLE load belt for use in our airsofting adventures and outdoor range time. The Waistland is made from Invista 1000D Cordura material, which is pretty strong stuff, and comes in three color variations: Tan, Black, and MultiCam. It should be noted that the MultiCam variant is made from 500D Cordura – not quite as rugged, but still not weak material by any means. The belts come in a “one size fits all” configuration, and will realistically fit most people. However, it should be noted that, while the buckle has room to expand, the MOLLE area does not. This means that if you are a large-waisted individual, you will have to reach farther back to touch the MOLLE webbing where needed. I couldn’t see someone with more than a 42″ inch waist comfortably using the Waistland in the field.

Official Features:

[ezcol_1half]

  • Wide, loadbearing padded belt w/ MOLLE webbing
  • 3D air-mesh underside for breathability, comfort
  • Quick-release buckle for rapid drops in emergencies
  • Velcro belt-length adjustment retainers
  • Ventilation grommets to let out heat/moisture from liner
  • Load-bearing d-rings flip up for use with shoulder straps[/ezcol_1half] [ezcol_1half_end]
    • D-rings flip down for trim appearance and clipping items
    • Heavy duty sewing throughout for years of reliability
    • Use across the chest or back as a bandoleer carrier
    • Use with shoulder straps and wear in front as a chest-rig[/ezcol_1half_end]

Another cool feature of the Waistland is its padding system, which allows for air to creep into the inner belt area, keeping the wearer cooler than most tactical belts. Additionally, Hazard 4 has put some patch space on the backside of the belt, something I appreciate greatly as another way to identify yourself – whether you are playing airsoft or using it in real-life tactical situations. Hazard 4 has also wisely chosen to provide four D-ring attachment points to the Waistland. You could feasibly use these as suspender points or even attachment locations for other pieces of kit that you need for your game or operation.

hazard-4-waistland-belt-3

Overall, the Hazard 4 Waistland MOLLE load belt is a great choice for airsoft players in the market for a comfortable tactical belt with a lot of MOLLE space for pouches, etc. One issue with the Waistland was that, because what would usually be called the “inner belt” is actually sewn onto what would be known as the “outer belt”, there is no inner belt for added rigidity. While it isn’t terribly floppy or saggy, it definitely does not have the rigid hold that most tactical belts have. Also, because of this construction choice, there is no pass-through to an inner belt with which to mount a holster. Instead, you need to mount any holsters directly to the MOLLE webbing on the belt. This might be fine depending on your loadout, but it is something I like having the option to use when available.

The Hazard 4 Waistland MOLLE load belt is available in Tan and Black for $59.99 and MultiCam for $64.99. You can find it on Hazard 4’s official website as well as a plethora of online tactical gear retailers.
