Warface is Going to Chernobyl

Thursday, August 24, 2017 — On the occasion of the annual gamescom in Cologne, global publisher My.com and developer Crytek studio, known for the Far Cry and Crysis series, revealed first details for a new special mission coming to its online shooter Warface. Set in the most renown city of the Chernobyl exclusion zone, “Pripyat” will mark a new milestone in the franchise featuring a rich narrative and new gameplay mechanics for players to discover later this year.

The special operation will be a new large-scale mission, which transports players to the actual site of the Chernobyl disaster. Currently being developed for a late 2017 release, this update is slated to be one of the most ambitious missions that the game has seen to date in both its plot and graphic realism.

Pripyat’s atmospheric setting is sure to make an impression on players, especially fans of post-apocalyptic settings. To ensure the recreation of the authentic environment, developer Crytek visited the exclusion zone several times and studied the terrain allowing them to accurately capture the frightening atmosphere of this tragic place.

“Pripyat is an infamously dangerous place, and now we will give players a chance to find themselves right in the heart of this abandoned city. Once this special operation goes live, it will mark an important milestone in both Warface’s gameplay and plot and will set the stage for a whole series of future plot-related updates, said Michael Khaimzon, creative director of Crytek. “In other words, Pripyat launches a new era in Warface, and our players should be ready for the disclosure of many plot details and secrets.”

In addition to new plot points, “Pripyat” will include an entirely new set of enemies and bosses with uniquely refined combat styles for players to face off against, forcing them to hone their skills and teamwork.

Warface is a popular online co-op shooter from Crytek studio with more than 48 million registered users worldwide. In the beginning of 2017, global publisher My.com took over the publishing and operations of Warface in Europe and North America. The new publisher actively invests in the game on the international market, developing its eSports activities and tournaments including the recently announced first international tournament season Warface Open Cup, which will launch in Europe and in the USA. The winners will proceed to the LAN-Finals in Moscow in early 2018. Teams from Europe, North America, Brazil and Russia will be competing in this tournament.

The Guild 3 Early Access Date

Vienna/Austria, August 23 2017: THQ Nordic today announced that its upcoming title The Guild 3 will go into Early Access on September 26th 2017. The full release of the game is expected to be in Q2 2018. A detailed timeline on Early Access timetable, as well as a schedule for updates during Early Access, will be provided shortly after Gamescom.

“After months of internal discussions on which route to take on a couple of features of the final game, we decided to move into Early Access to do the final stretches of the game together with the community”, said Heinrich Meyer, Producer of The Guild 3.

Fourth Hatchet Film Victor Crowley Announced

August 23, 2017 – Dark Sky Films proudly announces VICTOR CROWLEY, the surprise fourth film in the fan-favorite Hatchet franchise. Kept tightly under wraps for over two years, the slasher reboot unexpectedly debuted tonight at Hollywood’s ArcLight Cinema, shocking fans, celebrities, and industry professionals who gathered this evening to celebrate at an event coined as a “Hatchet 10th Anniversary Celebration.”

Set a decade after the events of the series’ first three films, VICTOR CROWLEY reunites Hatchet mainstays Kane Hodder (Friday the 13th 7 -X’s Jason Voorhees) and Parry Shen (Better Luck Tomorrow) for an all-new, horrifying journey into the haunted, blood-drenched bayou.

In 2007, forty-nine people were brutally torn to pieces in Louisiana’s Honey Island Swamp. Over the past decade, lone survivor Andrew Yong’s claims that local legend Victor Crowley was responsible for the horrific massacre have been met with great controversy, but when a twist of fate puts him back at the scene of the tragedy, Crowley is mistakenly resurrected and Yong must face the bloodthirsty ghost from his past.

VICTOR CROWLEY’s ensemble cast also features Laura Ortiz (2006’s The Hills Have Eyes), Dave Sheridan (Scary Movie), and Brian Quinn (truTV’s “Impractical Jokers”). Writer/director Adam Green proudly returns to the director’s chair of his series that, upon debuting in 2007, was energetically touted as a return to “old school American horror,” and whose maniacal fan-favorite villain quickly secured a place among slasher royalty.

We’re pleased to reveal the schedule of events for QuakeCon 2017, taking place Thursday , August 24th through Sunday, August 27th at the Gaylord Texan Resort and Convention Center in Grapevine, TX. To celebrate the kick off of the event’s 22nd year, check out our newly released “Welcome Video” which highlights all of the incredible activities, sales and fun planned for this year’s gathering in Dallas, and the just announced launch dates for our three hotly anticipated VR titles:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mFqbETAF5Ck.

  • Skyrim VR: November 17th for PSVR (PlayStation 4)
  • DOOM VFR: December 1st for PSVR (PlayStation 4), HTC VIVE (PC)
  • Fallout 4 VR: December 12th for HTC VIVE (PC)

In the Exhibit Hall, which will be open from Thursday to Saturday 10am – 6pm daily, attendees have the opportunity to be some of the first to get hands-on time with the highly anticipated The Evil Within 2, Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus, and Dishonored: Death of the Outsider, as well as jump into Quake Champions and Bethesda’s upcoming VR titles — Fallout 4 VR, Skyrim VR and DOOM VFR. Plus, watch the million dollar finale of the Quake World Championships live, in person. Attendees can stay up-to-date on all of the latest and greatest activities at the show by downloading the Official QuakeCon App which is available for Apple and Android devices, or check out the schedule via the Windows mobile device web browser.

Fans at home will enjoy great deals on all Bethesda games through the annual QuakeCon Sale, and can also watch the Quake World Championships play out live online by tuning into Twitch.TV/QuakeChampions and Facebook.com/Quake throughout the weekend.

This year, QuakeCon will kick off on Thursday, August 24th at 10am CT and remain open through 12pm CT on Sunday, August 27th.
