“Wargaming Labs is proud to partner with Catalyst Game Labs to deliver the universe of Master of Orion to tabletop gamers with the first product; the Master of Orion: Conquest deck building game,” stated Michael Buonagurio, Special Projects & Research Manager, Wargaming Labs.  “The wealth of experience Catalyst brings to the project will now deliver this venerable and loved video game to a new audience of gaming communities.”

“Anyone who has ever lost a large piece of their soul to a 4x game understands their appeal,” said Loren Coleman, Owner of Catalyst Game Labs. “And Master of Orion rates among the best. Focusing on fleet engagements, Conquest brings X-termination to the fore!”

Cities: Skylines PlayStation 4 Edition Launch Trailer

STOCKHOLM — Aug. 15, 2017 — Paradox Interactive, a publisher of best-selling games across many genres and platforms, today announced that Cities: Skylines, the smash-hit city-building game from Colossal Order, has launched today for the PlayStation®4 system as Cities: Skylines – PlayStation®4 Edition. Now refined and optimized by Tantalus Media for play using a DUALSHOCK 4 controller, the PlayStation®4 Edition provides the strategy and creativity that Cities: Skylines is known for in an experience perfect for a couch and big screen. The game includes the popular After Dark expansion, which adds a series of new features focused on improving nightlife and tourism in players’ in-game cities. Cities: Skylines – PlayStation®4 Edition is available as a digital download or via physical retail by Koch Media for $39.99.

Cities: Skylines is a modern take on the classic city simulation. The game introduces new mechanics to realize the thrill and hardships of creating and maintaining a real city, and allows for high levels of customization and personalization. The PlayStation®4 Edition has been adapted for play with new UI and controls while sacrificing none of the strategy and creativity.

Cities: Skylines – PlayStation®4 Edition features:

  • Build the city of your dreams: Plan road networks, bus lines and parks. Bring education, healthcare and safety to your citizens. Build it your way!
  • Extensive local traffic simulation: Managing traffic and the needs of your citizens to work and play will require the use of several interactive transport systems – use careful road planning alongside buses, trains, subways, and much more.
  • Districts and policies: Ban heavy traffic in your downtown area, assign free public transport to your waterfront, or ban pets in suburbia. Designate parts of your city as a district in order to set policy at the local level, and give different parts of town their own personalities.
  • After Dark included: Watch your city become an entirely different place at night: a day-night cycle will have your citizens seeking out places to unwind after work. Add in new policies and zones to create popular hotspots and provide enough taxis and trains to get to and from the clubs!

League of War: VR Arena Announced

August 15, 2017 – MunkyFun, a San Francisco-based independent game developer, today revealed it is bringing its highly successful League of War strategy game franchise to PlayStation®VR exclusively with the new arena-based arcade war game, League of War: VR Arena. In the action-oriented strategy game built from the ground up to create a powerful VR experience, players will fight short, intense battles against human or AI opponents, vying to lead their side to victory by physically placing and aiming units on the arena battlefield to destroy the opposing army’s towers and base.

In League of War: VR Arena, each army has 12 units including tanks, flamethrowers, helicopters and commanders, of which four are randomly available at any one time. Each unit requires energy to deploy, with more powerful units requiring more energy and taking longer to charge up. Using Move controllers, players will directly place and aim their units at the opponent—with the opponent doing the same in real time—as if they were a giant-sized general overseeing a virtual battlefield. The winner is the first player to destroy the opposing base to claim victory.

“League of War: VR Arena is designed to be a powerful experience that puts players in charge of a high tech, aggressive army on a living, tabletop-style battlefield,” said Nick Pavis, CEO and Co-Founder of MunkyFun, Inc.

“As you throw your units into battle, strategically choosing between quick strikes and slower but more powerful units, your opponent does the same, creating a pulse-pounding mix of strategy and action that is highly engaging on PlayStation VR.”

The game features both a single player Campaign mode and an Arcade mode where players face off head-to-head via the game’s Social Screen interface and build their own custom armies. Controls are highly intuitive and direct with the PS VR hardware—grab a unit and throw it on the battlefield! The pace is quick, and action is intense and the fun only stops to give you a chance to catch your breath before the next battle. Regardless of whether the opponent is human or silicon-based, the game thrives on a simple to play, difficult to master mantra. Should you wait for a powerful tank to charge, or immediately attack with an inexpensive recon unit that can distract the enemy while you prepare your big move? Should you deploy a helicopter to attack infantry, or wait to pair it with artillery for a more effective combo attack? These are the choices desktop generals will make in League of War: VR Arena!

Developed and published by MunkyFun, League of War: VR Arena will be exclusively released for PlayStation®VR early this fall, with more details revealed in the near future. This game has been rated “T for Teen” by the ESRB.

The Monster Project Release Info

August 14, 2017 – In a chilling and inventive take on the classic monster movie genre, THE MONSTER PROJECT follows a group of aspiring horror filmmakers, eager to raise their YouTube subscriber count, who post an online casting call for “real life” monsters to interview for their documentary. They find three participants and choose to film them sharing their haunted experiences in a mansion in the woods on the night of a lunar eclipse. The production suddenly turns into a nightmare when the participants transform into a real vampire, demon, and skinwalker (a type of harmful witch, according to Navajo legends, that can transform into any animal with the intent of harming people), forcing the unsuspecting crew to fight for their lives.

The film was directed by Victor Mathieu and written by Mathieu, Shariya Lynn, and Corbin Billings. Toby Hemingway (“BLACK SWAN”, “IN TIME”), Justin Bruening (“GOOD BEHAVIOR”, “GREY’S ANATOMY”, “RINGER”), and Yvonne Zima (“IRON MAN 3”, “NICE GUYS”) provide strong performances with Jamal Quezaire and Murielle Zuker rounding out the cast.

THE MONSTER PROJECT is distributed by Epic Pictures.

Established in 2007 by Patrick Ewald and Shaked Berenson, Epic Pictures Group has grown to become one of the most creative and dynamic independent studios, focusing on filmmakers’ vision driven projects, shaping them from script to launch via its domestic distribution division Epic Pictures Releasing. Throughout the past 10 years, Epic produced many genre cult hits including the 2015 Sundance premieres “ENTERTAINMENT” and “TURBO KID” and all-star horror anthology “TALES OF HALLOWEEN”. More recently Epic produced the psychological horror “THE LODGERS,” sci-fi thriller “RADIUS,” action horror “REDCON-1,” and the adventure thriller “THE MAN WHO KILLED HITLER AND THEN THE BIGFOOT” starring Sam Elliott.

Hangry Bunnies From Mars Release Date

LOS ANGELES (August 14, 2017) — Studio229 has announced its first VR game titled Hangry Bunnies From Mars for the HTC Vive, available August 23 on Steam.

Watch the announcement trailer:

Who loves being eaten to death by bunnies? (No one.) Especially not hundreds of them. Which is why the not-so-subtly-named extermination company Critter Death Squad is using you as its latest Exterminator to single-handedly hold off this hangry horde. Never mind the fact that you’re an extremely expendable clone (and they’ll just grow a new one if you die), because what really matters is the fact that you’re equipped with some seriously awesome transforming weapons that excel at unleashing critter death.

In Hangry Bunnies From Mars, you’ll take on hundreds of fluffy-wuffy bunnies at once in this replayable arcade adventure. You’ll suit up using some ridiculous weapons to take on these voracious varmints, all the while enjoying hilarious running commentary from Colin the British engineer and Vlad the Russian tactician. Featuring a script written by a Hollywood team–including Jeremy Adams, writer and producer for Lego, DC Comics, Monsuno and more. Hangry Bunnies features a dynamic difficulty adjuster that keeps gameplay consistent regardless of VR expertise, making it a great experience for beginners and skilled shooters alike. You’ll literally have a blast defending the great city of New Los Angeles, all rendered with a vibrant art style in roomscale VR!

The game launches on August 23 for the HTC Vive with Oculus Touch support releasing shortly afterwards. Check out the website for more info (and the epic trailer!) at www.hangrybunnies.com.

Tom Clancy’s The Division 1.7 Free Update Trailer

SAN FRANCISCO  August 14, 2017  Today, Ubisoft® announced that Update 1.7 for Tom Clancy’s The Division® will be available tomorrow, August 15. The update will be free for all players and release simultaneously on consoles and Windows PC.

Update 1.7 will bring several new features to Tom Clancy’s The Division, including:

  • Global Events – The update will introduce a new event system that will challenge players to find new ways to play through time-limited activities and new gameplay modifiers. New events will be available regularly and will grant exclusive rewards on completion. Players will be able to activate additional modifiers for some missions and incursions, adding an extra layer of challenge that gives them a chance to yield more rewards.
  • Commendations – Previously called feats, commendations are part of a new built-in achievement system that provides players with a series of tasks and subsequent rewards.
  • Encrypted Caches – Caches are loot boxes with random customization items and emotes inside. Players will be able to obtain caches by gathering keys in the world, or they can purchase them with premium credits.
  • New Gear and Customization Options – New gear includes classified gear sets, new face masks and arm patches. Players will also be able to re-customize their agents for free at the barbershop.
  • Survival Improvements – New scoring items will allow players to achieve higher scores. And the reward economy has been reworked so that time investment is more on par with other activities.

Update 1.7 is the first of two free updates planned for Year 2 of Tom Clancy’s The Division. In addition to these major updates and in line with the development team’s commitment to continuously improve the game, Year 2 has already introduced several gameplay and quality of life updates and will add more in the coming months.

The first global event, Outbreak, will start on August 15 at 9 am PDT and end on August 22, and challenge players with new enemy behavior due to the severity of a virus outbreak.

The second expansion, Survival, will be free this weekend – from August 18, 6 am PDT to August 20, 12 pm PDT – simultaneously across all platforms. During this time, all players will be able to access the expansion for free and experience a completely new way to play the game with survival mode. In this session-based mode hosting up to 24 different players in either PvP or PvE, agents are stripped of gear and must survive both the hostile environment and the threat of other agents and deadly hunters scattered around the open map. Finding supplies, warm clothes and survival equipment is vital as players attempt to make it out of the Dark Zone in the midst of a devastating blizzard.

Survival is part of Tom Clancy’s The Division Season Pass and can also be purchased separately. In conjunction with the free weekend, there will be discounts on Tom Clancy’s The Division standard and gold editions, season pass and stand-alone expansions.
