NEW YORK – Nov. 9, 2012 – Paradox Interactive and Critical Studio today announced (under explicit permission from the Dungeon Master) that the world’s first theme park for pesky adventurers, Dungeonland, will open its doors to a small amount of sniveling beta testers in a limited beta starting in November. Though these insufferable soon-to-be beta participants obviously lack the brilliant, evil-focused brain that the almighty Dungeon Master has inside his big, beautiful, and pointy-beard endowed head, he shall nonetheless allow them to christen his theme park as a means to test out all the death dispatching gizmos and rides he has in store for the rest of the world’s adventurers when Dungeonland opens in Q1 2013.

Get a chance to meet your demise in Dungeonland by signing up on the newly launched official game site: http://beta.dungeonlandgame.com/

Every miserable hero who signs up for the limited beta will receive a little something extra at launch, regardless of whether or not they are picked by the illustrious and extremely good looking Dungeonmaster, so start entering in your contact info at the game site already!

Limited beta sign up must be submitted by December 1st to qualify for a chance to participate and participants will be selected ongoing until then.

Logitech G600 MMO Gaming Mouse Review

Logitech’s new G600 MMO gaming mouse features a black plastic body with a wired, braided cable that connects to a USB port. Unlike other gaming mouse, the Logitech G600 doesn’t go with a lot of flashy lighting schemes save for the customizable lighting on its button labels. Visually, it is a rather “classy”-looking computer mouse. It features twelve thumb buttons on the mouse’s left side and two underneath the rubberized scroll wheel. A medium-sized mouse, it can be used with both claw and palm mousers – although the thumb buttons are far easier to access in palm mode. Inside the G600, you will find an 8,200 DPI laser sensor which can be adjusted via the downloadable control software. Performance-wise, the G600 is very accurate and was useful even in first-person shooters – even though that was not its intended game genre. The users can assign one of the mouse buttons to be the “G-Shift” control. This is basically an on-the-fly profile selector which allows the other buttons on the mouse to have more than one function. This gives gamers a staggering number of mouse button/functions to utilize in their gaming sessions. If I could change one thing on the G600, it would be the mouse’s surface. The black plastic doesn’t have much of a grip to it – a rubberized or textured surface would have been better.

Chinese Tanks Coming to World of Tanks

8th November, 2012 — Wargaming today announced details for Update 8.2 for its armored MMO action game World of Tanks. The release will add to the game a new line of steel behemoths from China.

Update 8.2 will invite players to experience the very best in Chinese tank development, across 17 new armored vehicles. The new Chinese tech tree will be composed of modifications on the Soviet, French, British, and American combat machines, and will also include a number of the Chinese-made tanks that never went into mass production.

“The Chinese not only produced their own tanks, but also evolved their own unique designs through the modification and improvement of some of the best foreign machines on the planet,” said Mike Zhivets, producer of World of Tanks. “The time has come for the Chinese to show their technical achievements. So, prepare to face the speed, hardiness and firepower of the best of People’s Liberation Army!”

A large majority of the Chinese designs were influenced by the Soviet Union, but also modified with Western technologies. Thus, Chinese tanks often featured the best possible traits from their foreign counterparts: the maneuverability of the American tanks, the shooting accuracy of the Brits, the fast firing of the French and the sheer power of the Soviets. Some notable names on the list include the light tank Type 62 (WZ131), the medium tank Type 59, and the heavy IS-2U.

GunSwords Announced

Moscow, Russia – November 7, 2012 -Russian developer One Button Studio today announced its first title, GunSwords, a free-to-play online squad-based, turn-based strategy (TBS) game for PC and Mac. Coming soon in beta, GunSwords features deep turn-based PvP gameplay that is highly intuitive and addictive because it is hard-to-master. Players must create a customized squad with three classes of fighters to choose from a wide range of weapons and spells to employ against opponent squads in a fast-paced, yet strategically challenging style of gameplay. GunSwords is coming soon to beta, but players can visit the registration site now for more information and to sign up for the beta: http://www.gunswords.com/index.php?en

GunSwords represents hours of collective efforts to incorporate the style of gameplay that we prefer into a fast-action turn-based experience that also has RPG elements”, said Dmitry Mikhalev, CEO of One Button Studio. “We are excited that after extensive testing we are now prepared to open up the game to a limited number of turn-based strategy fans to tweak and perfect this unique play experience”.

About GunSwords:

In GunSwords players must build a squad using available equipment and fight other players in special arenas. By winning battles, gamers can gain ranks and ultimately become champions. The combat system in GunSwords is a powerful fusion of core turn-based features, such as hex grid, fog of war, fighter classes with unique roles, fine action points management, powerups, etc. These features were picked, designed and balanced to provide the best possible player versus player (PvP) gameplay experience.

Players begin by building a squad, choosing from three different classes of fighters: swordsmen, gunners and mages. Additionally, a choice of 17 weapons and spells are available – each upgradeable to 10 level – including swords, chainsaws, shotguns, miniguns, rocket launchers, railguns, etc. Using these weapons and their newly-formed squads, players can challenge other players to turn-based battles to gain points, currency to buy and upgrade weapons and fighters and prestige in the online leaderboard.

New Wargame: AirLand Battle Screens

November 6, 2012 – The development of Wargame: AirLand Battle goes on in the best conditions for French studio Eugen Systems. Today, they mark a short pause to unveil 6 new screenshots of the sequel to Wargame: European Escalation, the real-time strategy game which quickly became one of the new reference in the genre for both critics and players.

With Wargame: AirLand Battle, Eugen Systems is getting ready to give the series a whole new dimension, with the massive arrival of improvement and spectacular new features.

While European Escalation’s powerful engine made a huge impression, Wargame : AirLand Battle marks an important step forward in graphics, which can be seen in today’s screenshots. The new version of the IRISZOOM Engine™ displays from afar and up-close impressive details and, for the first time, realistic relief directly reproduced from satellite images.

With the integration of air forces and a huge fleet of more than 150 crafts of all kinds, and more than 200 new ground-based combat units and vehicles, commanders from all around the world will have one of the most comprehensive libraries of arsenal ever created in a video game. Can the connoisseurs spot the American A-10 Thunderbolt II “Tank-killer”, the French Mirage III-C, or the fearsome Russian fighter Mig-29 “Fulcrum” in today’s screenshots?

Wargame AirLand Battle will be available on PC in Spring 2013.
