Control Gets Two Renowned Composers

CALABASAS, Calif. – April 11, 2019 – Global videogame publisher 505 Games and internationally renowned developer Remedy Entertainment, Plc. today revealed award-winning composer Martin Stig Andersen (INSIDE,Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus) and BAFTA-nominated composer Petri Alanko (Alan WakeQuantum Break) are creating the score for supernatural action-adventure game Control.  Combining Andersen’s experience with creating eerie compositions with Alanko’s unique blend of orchestral and electronic arrangements, the renowned duo is joining forces to form an otherworldly soundscape for Control’s mysterious world.

“I couldn’t imagine a better match for Control than Petri Alanko and Martin Stig Andersen. Martin’s deep and moody style combined with the unique energy of Petri Alanko elevates the end result into something special,” saidControl’s Game Director Mikael Kasurinen. “While both capture the tone of the experience, they approach it from different perspectives, complementing each other beautifully.”

Control’s score is being carefully crafted to back an ever-changing world that juxtaposes reality with the unexplainable. Andersen and Alanko’s scores will mirror Control’s dynamic gameplay elements by evolving around the game’s moments of stirring surrealism and fierce action.

“We knew Control required a very specific form of music to fit the aesthetic vision. Given the exceptional scores of their previous projects including Alan WakeLimbo and Inside, it was clear to us that combining the talents of both Petri Alanko and Martin Stig Andersen would be perfect for creating such a weird, supernatural soundtrack for Control,” said Control’s Senior Audio Designer Ville Sorsa.

Control is available to pre-order now and will release on Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2019 for physical and digital retail on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, with a simultaneous digital launch on the Epic Games store for PC. To register for more information and regular updates, please visit www.controlgame.com and follow @ControlGame on Twitter and Facebook and @ControlRemedy on Instagram.

Scary Stories Doc Gets A Release Date

Los Angeles, California – Scary Stories, the highly anticipated documentary about Alvin Schwartz’ iconic Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark book series, will debut in select theaters beginning April 26 via Wild Eye Releasing.

Explore the history of one of the most controversial works of modern children’s literature: The best selling teen classic Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark, which scared a generation of young readers and became one of the most banned books of modern times. Scary Stories creates both the ultimate celebration and dissertation of this iconic piece of horror literature.

Following the limited theatrical release – which includes Los Angeles, New Orleans, Columbus, and Texas – Scary Stories will be available on VOD May 7 with a DVD release set for July 16.

Cody Meirick’s film features more than 40 interviews, from family members of author Alvin Schwartz, to fellow children’s book horror authors like R.L Stine (Goosebumps) and Q.L. Pearce, to folklorists, artists and fans discussing the impact that the books have had on both themselves as well as the culture at large. The documentary also explores the various times in which the books were banned or targeted by parent and religious groups as ‘satanic’ or otherwise too macabre for its targeted teen scholastic audience.

Penned by Schwartz and illustrated by Stephen Gammell, Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark is a three-volume series consisting of short horror stories for pre-teens and children that were adapted from American folklore and urban legends. Because of some of the violent illustrations and the subject matter, parent groups, religious organizations and school boards had the books pulled from libraries and schools at various times. A feature film adaptation of the books, produced by horror icon Guillermo del Toro, is due in theaters this summer.

World War Z Gameplay Overview Video

April 5, 2019 – Saber Interactive and Focus Home Interactive have just released a new gameplay overview trailer for World War Z, the highly anticipated co-op shooter inspired by Paramount Pictures’ blockbuster film. Narrated by Saber’s Creative Director Oliver Hollis-Leick, the new video dives into the intense action that players can expect while scavenging, running and blasting hordes of hundreds of zombies.

World War Z’s co-op campaign takes place across four episodes, each containing three chapters, set in New York, Jerusalem, Moscow and Tokyo. Before diving into a chapter, you will need to select a class and weapon loadout. Whether supporting the team with ammo and heals, specializing in explosives or unleashing devastating firepower, you’ll find a class suited to any playstyle.

In World War Z, every play session tells its own unique story of survival through the help of the AI director, which constantly adapts to the actions of you and your squad. For example, a stealthy approach is rewarded with far less zombie spawns, allowing you to conserve precious ammunition. When it comes to massive swarm events, struggling squads may also be granted additional defensive equipment, such as an extra auto turret or mortar.

Alongside the narrative-driven campaign, players can also compete against each other in 4v4 across a variety of Players vs. Players vs. Zombies modes. This includes zombified twists on classics such as King of the Hill, Domination and Deathmatch, as well as the all-new Scavenge Raid and Vaccine Hunt modes. Watch our PvPvZ trailer here to catch up on the competitive undead action.

World War Z is available to pre-order now on all platforms digitally and at retail at https://wwzgame.com/buy. All pre-orders come with the free Lobo Weapon Pack, featuring three golden weapon skins and the dual-bladed Lobo spade.

World War Z is expected to launch on April 16, 2019, on PlayStation®4, Xbox One and Windows PC via the Epic Games Store. For more information, visit http://wwzgame.com, and follow the game on Facebook at www.facebook.com/WWZGame, Twitter @WWZTheGame, and Instagram @WWZGame.
