Surviving the Aftermath – Update 4: Great Minds Key Features

Society Improvements: Societies on the World Map now have Leaders that players will meet when interacting with other colonies. Currently, there are 10 different leaders, each with their own unique personalities and backgrounds. These leaders will become more important in the future as gameplay features are expanded to include diplomacy, improved trading, and more.

Rebuilt Tech Tree: The tech tree has been rebuilt from scratch and now features five main research lines, with alternative routes and optional sub-branches. Research on the tech tree takes time to complete in addition to Tech Points. Tech tree unlocks go beyond reaching new buildings and will include upgrades to existing structures. There are 78 Techs in total, but this will increase in future updates.

Visual Improvements: The colony view has received a massive visual overhaul. This includes an updated post-processing effects, visual fidelity upgrades, height variation added to full grown trees, and more.

In addition to these features, this update incorporates a variety of enhancements requested by the community. To learn more about Update 4: Great Minds, you can check out the full patch notes here and the dev diary here.

Curse of the Dead Gods Reveal Trailer

February 6, 2020 – From March 3rd, seek untold riches, eternal life, divine powers – your greed will lead you to death, but that is not an escape. Rise to fight again. Delve deeper in the accursed temple, a seemingly-infinite labyrinth of bottomless pits, deadly traps, monsters and malignant deities. Collect mystical Relics and an arsenal of weapons to make yourself unstoppable. Corruption builds in you with every step – encourage or ignore it, but each powerful Curse can be a double-edged sword.

This rogue-lite offers an adventure full of content, with a demanding learning curve, intense combat, dozens of weapons, relics, curses, traps, enemies and powerful bosses to overcome.

Rich content, frequent updates to come and community support

“At the start of the EA, players will have access to what can be considered as about a third of the final content in production.” says Sylvain Passot, CEO at Passtech Games. “However, since each game is different with a large share of randomness, there is a lot to discover in this first segment! ‘

This Early Access release marks the launch of a roadmap of updates to come over the next few months. New Temples to explore, each with their own universe, unique traps and enemies. New game mechanics are also planned, with new weapons for your arsenal, new curses and relics. Also on the way are new game modes, along with many more features and improvements based on community feedback.

‘Curse of the Dead Gods is a project close to our hearts, with many opportunities and possibilities for development. We would like to gather feedback and opinions from the community on the best route to take. Curse of the Dead Gods is a modular game with great replayability, and we believe that Early Access will make the most of it. ‘says Passot.

Curse of the Dead Gods launches in Early Access on Steam on March 3rd, 2020. The game will also be showcased at PAX East 2020 from February 27th to March 1st at the Focus Home Interactive booth (n°29017)

Kickstarter Campaign for Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous Underway

Moscow, Russia, February 4, 2020 — Owlcat Games announces that the highly anticipated Kickstarter campaign for its classic isometric CRPG, Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous, has launched today. In celebration, the studio is happy to share an exciting video showcasing for the first time an animated cutscene and pre-alpha gameplay footage. Based on Paizo’s famous tabletop RPG and the adventure path of the same name, Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous is estimated to arrive June 2021 for PC Windows via Steam and GOG. Details on the game’s three new Mythic Paths, new classes, and a new race have also been revealed.

Watch the Kickstarter video here:

Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous is an epic adventure in which players rise to power as one of six Mythic character types: the benevolent Angel, the ravaging Demon, the powerful Lich, the cunning Trickster, the lawful Aeon, and the rebellious Azata. Every choice made during the adventure will allow players to align themselves with a specific Mythic Path. Becoming one of these unique beings greatly impacts the main narrative, grants distinct abilities and affects a character’s appearance.

The new Mythic Paths revealed today include the Aeon, a cosmic judge of balance that can travel to the past; the Demon, an impulsive creature on the verge of losing its self-control; and the Azata, a champion of the innocent and unstoppable force of good. Players may ignore these celestial powers and become a Legend—a mortal who doesn’t need help from any deity to inspire people and destroy the demon lords.

“Our Kickstarter campaign will allow our team to flesh out each Mythic Path with exclusive story branches and abilities that influence the game world,” says Alexander Mishulin, Creative Director of Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous. “It will also allow us to produce more content like new classes, races, and companions.”

In addition to the classes introduced in Kingmaker, Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous will allow players to choose from the following five new classes: the Arcanist, Bloodrager, Shaman, Oracle, and Witch. They may also play as a new race of half-undead mortals called dhampirs. The number of archetypes per class will increase to five.

Additional details regarding Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous‘ Mythic Paths, new features, and crowdfunding goals can be found at the game’s Kickstarter page. The campaign will run until March 11.

Minions: The Rise of Gru Official Trailer

2/4/2020 – This summer, from the biggest animated franchise in history and global cultural phenomenon, comes the untold story of one 12-year-old’s dream to become the world’s greatest supervillain, in Minions: The Rise of Gru.

In the heart of the 1970s, amid a flurry of feathered hair and flared jeans, Gru (Oscar® nominee Steve Carell) is growing up in the suburbs. A fanboy of a supervillain supergroup known as the Vicious 6, Gru hatches a plan to become evil enough to join them. Luckily, he gets some mayhem-making backup from his loyal followers, the Minions. Together, Kevin, Stuart, Bob, and Otto—a new Minion sporting braces and a desperate need to please—deploy their skills as they and Gru build their first lair, experiment with their first weapons and pull off their first missions.

When the Vicious 6 oust their leader, legendary fighter Wild Knuckles (Oscar® winner Alan Arkin), Gru interviews to become their newest member. It doesn’t go well (to say the least), and only gets worse after Gru outsmarts them and suddenly finds himself the mortal enemy of the apex of evil. On the run, Gru will turn to an unlikely source for guidance, Wild Knuckles himself, and discover that even bad guys need a little help from their friends.

Teeming with Illumination’s signature subversive humor, pop-culture sophistication, full-hearted emotion, bold music sensibility, and over-the-top action, Minions: The Rise of Gru features a thrilling new cast of stars, including, as members of the Vicious 6, Taraji P. Henson as cool and confident leader Belle Bottom, Jean-Claude Van Damme as Jean Clawed, Lucy Lawless as Nunchuck, Dolph Lundgren as Svengeance and Danny Trejo as Stronghold. The film also features Russell Brand as Dr. Nefario, an aspiring mad scientist, Michelle Yeoh as Master Chow, an acupuncturist with mad Kung Fu skills, and Oscar® winner Julie Andrews as Gru’s maddeningly self-absorbed mom.

Steered by the franchise’s original creators, Minions: The Rise of Gru is produced by visionary Illumination founder and CEO Chris Meledandri and his longtime collaborators Janet Healy and Chris Renaud. The film is directed by returning franchise filmmaker Kyle Balda (Despicable Me 3, Minions), co-directed by Brad Ableson (The Simpsons) and Jonathan del Val (The Secret Life of Pets films), and features the iconic voice of Pierre Coffin as the Minions and a killer ʼ70s soundtrack courtesy of legendary Grammy-winning music producer Jack Antonoff.
