Devolver Digital’s Weird West Delayed Until March 2022

Devolver Digital and WolfEye Studios today announced that in order to make Weird West the most immersive and well, weird, journey through the west as possible, the game will now be launching across PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on March 31, 2022.

Weird West is an impressively deep mix of action RPG and immersive sim elements built on the WolfEye team’s experience with Dishonored and Prey. Early feedback is fantastic but, as is the case with any immersive sim, there are a lot of variables that can lead to unintended consequences. More time is needed to deliver an experience that the community expects from WolfEye and Devolver. The team understands that this might be a disappointment to folks, but want to ensure that the game they’ve worked on for years is launched in the best form possible.

Return of a Legend Featurette for The Book of Boba Fett

Today, Disney+ debuted an exciting, exclusive featurette to herald the return of Boba Fett, the mysterious titular character of their new original series from Lucasfilm, “The Book of Boba Fett.” Watch “Return of a “Legend” as filmmakers Dave Filoni, Jon Favreau and Robert Rodriguez, and stars Temuera Morrison and Ming-Na Wen, give an overview of the show and celebrate Boba Fett’s arrival next Wednesday, December 29, exclusively on Disney+.

“The Book of Boba Fett,” a thrilling Star Wars adventure teased in a surprise end-credit sequence following the Season 2 finale of “The Mandalorian,” finds legendary bounty hunter Boba Fett and mercenary Fennec Shand navigating the galaxy’s underworld when they return to the sands of Tatooine to stake their claim on the territory once ruled by Jabba the Hutt and his crime syndicate.

“The Book of Boba Fett” stars Temuera Morrison and Ming-Na Wen. Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni, Robert Rodriguez, Kathleen Kennedy and Colin Wilson are the executive producers. Karen Gilchrist and Carrie Beck serve as co-executive producers, with John Bartnicki producing and John Hampian as co-producer.

Stranger of Paradise Final Fantasy Origin New Gameplay Trailer

In celebration of the anniversary of the original FINAL FANTASY’s release, SQUARE ENIX® showcased new gameplay and cutscenes for STRANGER OF PARADISE FINAL FANTASY ORIGIN™, highlighting the connection between the upcoming action RPG and the first title in the FINAL FANTASY series.

The latest gameplay footage was headlined by the iconic northern bridge scene from the original FINAL FANTASY recreated for FINAL FANTASY ORIGIN—the game offers and alternate retelling of the beloved classic, shedding light on the dark origins of Garland through the journey of protagonist Jack and his comrades. Legendary FINAL FANTASY developers Hironobu Sakaguchi (Mistwalker Corporation CEO) and Akitoshi Kawazu shared their thoughts on the links between these two titles:

“Garland, who is defeated at the beginning of the story, is reborn 2000 years in the past as Chaos where he continues to rule over darkness, but is once again bested by the Warriors of Light… I created this endless cycle in the story because it was the first game in the series, and even though it is a pixel art RPG, I thought that by giving the story such layers, it wouldn’t just be viewed as some kind of “toy,” and we could elevate it to an authentic form of entertainment. That was the reason behind this decision. I think the same can be said for the scene when the player crosses the northern bridge, and the title and opening story text are shown on screen.”

The livestream also showcased STRANGERS OF PARADISE FINAL FANTASY ORIGIN gameplay, which has seen new adjustments and additions based on player feedback following the release of the second TRIAL VERSION. This festive celebration is now running daily, beginning on January 22 through March 6, 2022. Guests can step into PEANUTS comic strips, as the beloved Gang takes over the entire park, with experiences that allow fans of all ages to play and interact with their favorite PEANUTS characters. The celebration also includes delicious PEANUTS-inspired food, reimagined live shows, new specially-themed décor, and the addition of a new friend to join in on all the fun.

Knott’s Boysenberry Festival

Knott’s Boysenberry Festival is back and bigger than ever, with an additional week to celebrate the little berry that started it all. This annual food festival runs from March 18 and extends through April 24. This year’s lineup will feature new and returning boysenberry creations ranging from savory foods to specialty drinks and tasty treats, all created by Knott’s Culinary Team. In 2022, your favorite town of Calico comes to life once again with the return of the immersive western adventure, Ghost Town Alive! Guests are invited to become a part of this summer’s action-packed storyline in the streets of Ghost Town. Ghost Town Alive! will offer new adventures, roles, characters, and entertainment during summertime at Knott’s starting May 20 through September 5.

The summer fun does not stop there because when the sun goes down, the nighttime event begins with Knott’s Summer Nights. This party after dusk offers a variety of live music, classic summer eats and games for the whole family to enjoy. Guests can also experience unique photo opportunities and fun interactions with the Party Planning Crew of Summer Nights who help make it an event to remember.

Summertime at Knott’s wouldn’t be complete without a visit to Knott’s Soak City Waterpark, open May 28 through September 11. Guests can catch a ride down 23 different speed, tube, and body slides or take a relaxing trip down one of the longest lazy rivers in the country. The 15-acre water park has something for each member of the family, an interactive kid’s area, and for those more adventurous, The Wedge, a rip-roaring raft ride.

Knott’s Scary Farm

Knott’s Scary Farm, Southern California’s largest immersive Halloween experience, will be returning for its 49^th year with terrifying new scares. There is nowhere to hide as frights await you at every turn and more than 1,000 monsters roam the park and lurk in the fog, waiting to feed on the blood-curdling screams of guests.

This specially ticketed event takes place on select nights starting September 22 through October 31. Due to the explicit and frightening nature of the event, it is not recommended for children under 13

Knott’s Spooky Farm

Daytime weekends starting October 1 through October 30 plus Halloween

Enjoy the Halloween season at Knott’s Spooky Farm, a family-friendly fall time celebration. Little ghouls can trick-or-treat around the town of Calico’s shops and buildings to collect sweet treats from the friendly townsfolk. Six Flags Great Adventure’s spectacular winter festival, Holiday in the Park and its Holiday in the Park Drive-Thru Experience, will operate daily through the holidays for the first time ever, including Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, and New Year’s Day. Plus, the theme park will host a dynamic New Year’s Eve fireworks show at 9 pm.

Holiday in the Park Highlights:

Millions of glittering lights, festive foods, thrilling roller coasters, family rides, and holiday entertainment transform the World’s Ultimate Thrill Park into an eye-popping winter wonderland. Ghost Town Content Update Announced for Chernobylite

Video game publisher All in! Games and development studio The Farm 51 are pleased to present Ghost Town, the second of many free content updates to come to Chernobylite on Steam, as well as some other additions. The free content update adds a new map to the game of the Pripyat Residential Area, full of events and side missions. Here players will be able to explore the 3D scanned recreation of Pripyat’s neighborhoods and visit iconic locations such as the Azure Swimming Pool .

Released simultaneously with the content update, a new set of weapon skins, the Deadly Frost Skin Pack, is also now available on Steam for $3.99/€3.29/£2.89 and will add the icy bite of winter to your attacks. Additionally, the game’s original soundtrack, from award-winning composer Mikolai Stroiński, is now available for purchase on Steam for $4.99/€4.99/£4.99. With the haunting melody of the Zone following you wherever you go, will you ever truly be able to leave?

Another addition to the game’s offer is a demo of Chernobylite that is now available to play on Steam. The demo will include the game’s intro as well as two whole in-game days for players to go through. New Company of Heroes 3 Trailer Looks at the Campaign

The legendary strategy franchise is back, combining heart-pounding combat with new layers of strategy in a breathtaking Mediterranean setting. Company of Heroes 3™ is coming to PC in 2022, bringing the series’ intimate boots-on-the-ground storytelling to a brand-new theatre of war. For the first time in the history of the franchise, step into the role of a WWII general on the brand new Dynamic Campaign Map and determine the course of the Allied campaign in Italy day by day, battle by battle. With a birds-eye view of the theater, players will make decisions that impact both the tactical battles they’ll be playing, as well as the course of the war itself.

Arrow Video Unveils January 2022 Release Line-up

Kick off the new year with Arrow’s latest round of releases beginning on January 18 with Mario Bava’s Shock. The legendary Daria Nicolodi stars as Dora, a woman that goes through extensive electroshock treatment and then moves into her old home with her young son and her new husband. While in the home, she’s tormented by the memories of her dead first husband. Is she experiencing supernatural events associated with a haunted house or has she merely lost her grip on reality? Released in the United States as Beyond the Door II, Shock was the last theatrical film Bava would release before his untimely passing in 1980. The Terror Trap praised Shock for containing “all the stylish sequences” Bava is known for and “a handful of disturbingly graphic sequences.” Arrow presents Shock with a brand-new 2K restoration from the original 35mm camera negative. This new restoration features Italian and English soundtracks and newly translated English subtitles. Special features include new audio commentary, new interviews with co-writers Lamberto Bava and Dardano Sacchetti, a video essay, and much more!

Also releasing on January 18 is Red Angel from director Yasuzo Masumura. Red Angel takes a look at the horrors of war through the eyes of Sakura Nishi (Ayako Wakao), a young field nurse on the front lines in China during the Second Sino-Japanese War. While tending the wounds of soldiers injured in battle, Nishi must also be strong enough to deal with their unstable mental state and unwanted sexual advances. Jeffrey M. Anderson of Combustible Celluloid praised Red Angel as “one of the most brutal portraits of war ever filmed,” while Don Willmott of Filmcritic.com called it “one of the most powerful anti-war films you’ll ever see.” Arrow’s Blu-ray release of Red Angel contains a high-definition film presentation with the original uncompressed Japanese audio. Special features include a brand-new audio commentary with Japanese cinema scholar David Desser, a new film introduction by Tony Rayns and a new visual essay from Jonathan Rosenbaum.First pressings will also include an illustrated booklet with new writing from Irene Gonzalez-Lopez.

Arrow’s final release of the month comes on January 25 in the form of Sleep. After being plagued by horrific nightmares of a place she has never been, Marlene (Sandra Hüller) suffers a mental breakdown in a remote village and is placed in a psychiatric ward. Marlene’s daughter Mona (Gro Swantje Kohlhof) follows after her, uncovers dark family secrets, and reveals a curse that threatens her life. This debut film from director Michael Venus earned German Film Critics Association Award nominations for Best Screenplay, Best Feature Film Debut, and Best Editing. Currently, Sleep holds a 94% score on Rotten Tomatoes. Lindsay Traves of CGMagazine awarded Sleep 8 out of 10, writing that the film is “a stunning tale of inherited trauma manifesting as nightmares and the work one has to do to conquer what cannot be physically escaped.” Arrow presents Sleep on Limited Edition Blu-ray for the first time with special features that include an audio commentary track with authors Kim Newman and Sean Hogan, a visual essay from film scholar Alexandra Heller-Nicholas, a conversation between director Venus and star Kohlhof, and a whole lot more!

TBS and Six Flags Theme Parks Team Up for Go-Big Show Experiences

With the second season of “Go-Big Show” on deck for a January 6, 2022 premiere, TBS and Six Flags Theme Parks today announced a partnership that brings the all-in spirit of the Go-Big Show to Six Flags theme parks nationwide.

Equal parts extreme talent competition and party, “Go-Big Show” features daring performances and non-stop Oh-My-God moments as contestants vie to win over judges Rosario Dawson, Jennifer Nettles, Cody Rhodes, and T-Pain to take home a $100,000 prize. The first season of the hit TBS show starred intrepid performers and one-of-a-kind acts who brought their A-game to the Go-Big stage as they balanced on their faces, performed feats of strength, completed BMX cycle mega ramp stunts, drove monster trucks and souped-up motorcycles, and shot bows and flaming arrows with their feet. Hosted by Bert Kreischer, the second season of “Go-Big Show” promises to go even bigger than the first.

On December 18, Six Flags Fiesta Texas in San Antonio, Texas, unveiled the Go-Big Experience on SkyScreamer. Not for the faint of heart, the ride is modified to ramp up the chills with “Go-Big Show.” A select few of the ride’s traditional swings are being replaced by harnesses. Rather than just sit, fearless riders ready to go-for-it strap in and soar 200 feet in the air at full speed in a belly-down arms-out flight position. The Go-Big Experience on SkyScreamer runs for three weeks and marks the first time that a Six Flags attraction has been modified for a limited-time promotion.

Participating Six Flags Theme Parks throughout the US introduced the Go-Big Funnel cake on December 10. A supersized take on the theme park classic, the Go-Big Funnel cake combines a gigantic stack of fresh funnel cakes with an epic helping of soft-serve ice cream, chocolate sauce, berries and whipped cream. Indulging in the Go-Big funnel cake sundae may not require nerves of steel or advanced training, but it’s a culinary challenge that requires a Go Big or Go Home attitude.
