pathologic-classic-screenshot

October 7, 2015 – A PLAGUE-STRICKEN TOWN – This fall, a landmark in psychological first-person survival is poised to make a haunting return. 10 years after terrifying gamers with its cult-classic debut, Ice-Pick Lodge has teamed up with Gambitious Digital Entertainment and General Arcade to bring a fully remastered version of the classic Pathologic to Steam, GOG and Humble Store for the first time (http://store.steampowered.com/app/384110). Make sure you’ve taken the time to meditate on what kind of person you really think you are, then check out this new trailer to get a taste of this unconventional survival game.

In Pathologic players embark on a dark journey to explore a remote town built upon old tanneries and butcheries just as a mysterious and deadly disease breaks out. Whilst the disease can be identified by physical symptoms, its roots and origins remain mysterious. The disease is highly infectious and deadly. It affects the neural and the blood-circulating systems, crippling both body and mind. To fight this epidemic local authorities send three agents, one of them a learned doctor, to access the situation and determine the best course of action. Along with the authorities’ agents two volunteers find their way through the town along with the learned doctor, who goes by the name of The Bachelor. One of them, The Changeling, is a strange girl who believes she can heal with her hands, and the other, The Haruspex, is a talented amateur who’s fond of experimental surgery. Taking on the role of one of these doctors, you’ll explore the town, its weird traditions, and the complex relationships of its inhabitants. You will only have twelve days to defeat the invisible enemy called the Sand Plague. You cannot shoot, barter nor reason with this enemy, and only one thing is for certain; you can’t save everyone.

Pathologic Classic HD is an extensive remaster of the original game, featuring updated graphics and effects, while addressing the most prominent critiques of the original with a completely redone English script, brand new re-recorded voice-overs and reinstated dialogue. Released in anticipation of the Kickstarted Pathologic Remake that Ice-Pick Lodge is currently working on, Pathologic Classic HD allows gamers to experience the old masterpiece in a definitive way.

Don’t worry; we’ll have more information on Pathologic Classic HD in the coming weeks. You can rest easy. For now.

Far Cry Primal Announced

far-cry-primal

SAN FRANCISCO – October 6, 2015 – Today, Ubisoft® announced the development of Far Cry® Primal, the next exciting chapter in the critically acclaimed Far Cry franchise, set during the savage Stone Age. Far Cry Primal hits shelves worldwide on February 23, 2016 for PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system and Xbox One.  The game will also ship on Windows PC in March 2016.

Developed by Ubisoft Montréal in collaboration with Ubisoft Toronto, Ubisoft Shanghai Studio and Ubisoft Kiev Studio, Far Cry Primal is a full-fledged single player experience that will take gamers to 10,000 BC in history to a time when massive beasts like the woolly mammoth and sabretooth tiger ruled the Earth.

The award-winning franchise that stormed the tropics and climbed the Himalayas now brings its innovative open world sandbox gameplay to a time when humans were not at the top of the food chain but were fighting to climb it, bringing together massive beasts, breathtaking environments and unpredictable savage encounters.

Gamers play as TAKKAR, a seasoned hunter and the last surviving member of his hunting group. Arriving in the majestic and savage land of Oros, players will pursue one single goal; survive in a world where humans are the prey. They will meet a cast of memorable characters who will help them push back and tame the dangers of the wild. Players will journey as the first human to tame the wilderness and rise above extinction.  Along the way, they will have to hunt for food, master fire, fend off fierce predators, craft weapons and tools partly from the bones of slain beasts and face off against other tribes to conquer Oros.

“The interesting thing about Far Cry is that it’s flexible.  So when a team proposed to explore the idea of a Far Cry taking place during the Stone Age, we just said ‘let’s hear it!’  And the more we heard about it, the more we realized how much of a damn good idea it actually was,” said Dan Hay, executive producer, Ubisoft.

“The Stone Age is the perfect setting for a Far Cry game,” said Jean-Christophe Guyot, creative director, Ubisoft.  “Far Cry usually puts you at the edge of the known world, in a beautiful, lawless and savage frontier.  The Stone Age is, in a way, the very first frontier for humankind; it’s the time when humans put a stick in the ground and claimed land for their own, the time when we started climbing the food chain.  That came with conflict, against other humans of course, but also against nature itself.”

P·O·L·L·E·N on Steam Greenlight and New Trailer

pollen-screenshot

Helsinki, Finland – October 5th, 2015 – Virtual reality studio Mindfield Games today revealed the alternate history timeline and a new gameplay trailer behind P·O·L·L·E·N™,its first person virtual reality launch game set on Titan, the sixth and largest moon of Saturn. The alternate historical reality of P·O·L·L·E·N begins after President Kennedy survives a failed assassination, and NASA and Soviet space scientists combine their research to build a permanent base on the moon. In addition, the studio also announced that the Steam community can now vote for P·O·L·L·E·N with the launch of the Steam Greenlight campaign. To pledge support for P·O·L·L·E·N visit: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=527788650

“P·O·L·L·E·N is a strikingly beautiful first-person psychological thriller where everything is interactive. All the objects and machines you see can be lifted or operated, some have secondary actions or even hidden features” said Olli Sinerma, Co-Founder of Mindfield Games. “The game has been optimized to offer the definitive first person experience at the launch of consumer VR – however, we are most excited about how the players will react to the story and uncover the mystery of Research Station M”.

Inspired by science-fiction classics Solaris, 2001: A Space Odyssey and Moon, as well as adventure games Gone Home and The Dig, P·O·L·L·E·N is a first-person space exploration game set on Titan, the only moon in the solar system with an atmosphere and vast liquid seas, where life may exist. P·O·L·L·E·N. places the player inside the suit and helmet of a space mechanic in a fully interactive world where each object has a functionality and action.

The alternate history of P·O·L·L·E·N begins in 1963, after the failed assassination of President Kennedy. NASA and Soviet space researchers begin to work together and in the 70’s establish a permanent base on the moon. Space technology keeps advancing at a booming rate, with inventions like anti-gravity making it possible to lift objects cheaply into orbit. Rama Industries is one of many pioneering organizations expanding the human frontier. Despite occasional hardships, they push forward and search for new opportunities in space. Most recently, the findings on the Saturnian moon Titan have proven to be particularly interesting, where the research of Station “M” has taken the spotlight. A five person research team has been working at “M” for one year, expanding the base and making wondrous discoveries until two months ago, when one of the technicians went missing in a work related accident, requiring a replacement.

Can you uncover the secrets of Titan?

P·O·L·L·E·N, will be coming to PC in Early 2016 and will support HTC Vive, OSVR, Oculus Rift and traditional display. Later in the year P·O·L·L·E·N will also be available for PlayStation 4 and supports PlayStation VR.
