October 24, 2017 – CCP Games has released the massive new EVE Online: Lifeblood expansion, free to all of the hundreds of thousands of players in EVE Online’s rich and expansive space universe. It brings reverberating changes to the very bedrock of EVE: raw resources, player-driven markets, and the conflicts that fuel the vicious cycle of creation and destruction.
Lifeblood delivers new technologies for resource acquisition in the form of Upwell Refineries , with expanded moon mining capabilities allowing players to blast huge surface chunks from moons, tractoring them in, and detonating them into lucrative asteroid fields for mining fleets to actively forage. The introduction of these gargantuan industrial platforms and their streamlined refining capabilities has encouraged pirate factions to set their sights on taking a slice of the dwindling resources that remain in New Eden. They have set up deadly forward operating bases from which to wage war on the industrial core of the Empires in high security space, providing fleet-sized challenges for pilots to take down.
The Empires are struggling to keep up. They are actively contracting willing pilots of all skill levels to participate in the Resource Wars, requiring player cooperation to load their freighters with precious asteroid ore while defending against menacing pirates. The competition for raw materials and supremacy over space between EVE Online player alliances is also becoming more heated than ever, as the cluster is pushed closer toward the brink of all out conflict. An already expansive list of active, player-created wars just found more fuel for the fire with a complete redistribution of moon materials across the universe, forcing pilots to adjust their strategies and ambitions.
The EVE Online: Lifeblood expansion focuses on multiple important aspects of EVE’s rich gameplay.
New players and veterans alike can more easily find purpose and wealth through rebalanced frigates, destroyers and cruisers, by participating in short-session cooperative gameplay in the Resource Wars, and by consulting a new tool called The Agency—an accessible scan of all nearby PvE opportunities.
Moon Mining is now a much more active and collaborative endeavor, providing varied gameplay for an exponential amount of players on all sides—whether miners or combatants, defenders or aggressors.
More high-level challenges have risen in the sudden appearance of Guristas Shipyards and their brand-new capital class vessels—the Caiman, Loggerhead and Komodo.
EVE’s commitment to its players continues in dozens of other Lifeblood additions and changes like the new Mining Ledger and Wagers on Duels.
With Lifeblood’s compelling new content, more immediate objectives and far-reaching changes to industry creating massive flux in the universe, there hasn’t been a better time to join or re-join EVE Online and add your story to the rich galactic tapestry that continues to tell gaming’s most interesting player-made stories.

October 24, 2017 – Originally released on Steam Early Access on May 17, 2016, MinMax Games is excited to announce that Space Pirates and Zombies 2 will officially launch on Windows, Mac OSX and Linux on November 7, 2017, including a fully featured VR port, free of additional charge, which supports the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift. What this means for you is a vast and persistent living galaxy populated by 200 unique AI captains, a blend of action combat vs strategic conquest, and explosions – lots of explosions, like skittles in space.
Having begun its development life over 5 years ago, SPAZ 2 continues the legacy and spirit of 2011’s PC indie hit, Space Pirates and Zombies, framing the latest title around brand new gameplay mechanics and a renewed focus on scavenging and survival. Through all this, community has remained a key pillar for the team at MinMax, and there’s no better indication of their commitment to SPAZ’s passionate fans than its time in Steam Early Access.
“We want to thank everyone who has come along for the ride during Early Access. The community’s suggestions and input have made SPAZ 2 the game it is today,” noted Andrew Hume, MinMax Games co-founder. “Systems like the Super Sandbox Mode, Blueprints, Core Synergies, Part Catalog, and Map Generator would never have existed without our daily chats on the forums, and have become some of our favorite features. It’s been a long trip, but together we did it, and we’re so excited that 1.0 is just around the corner!”
Now, with its official launch closing in, there’s no denying that SPAZ 2 is – at least in part – a byproduct of its fan’s ambitions and drive to dig even further into the immersive galaxy MinMax Games have created. But enough of that sentimental stuff – you’re here for the wanton space destruction, right? Well, SPAZ 2 has that. A lot of that. Unload barrages of missile and laser fire on your enemies with Battlewagon mode. Ram through your enemies’ exposed hulls to take out their engines. Turn severed enemy ship parts into improvised flails with your tractor beam.
Whether you’re a budding galactic strategist or you just want to blow some space junk to smithereens, the living galaxy of Space Pirates and Zombies 2 has a place for you. For more information about all things space, pirate, zombie or explosion-based, check out Space Pirates and Zombies 2 on Steam, or visit the game’s website.

October 24, 2017 — One year ago, commanders banded together to banish terror from the high seas when the sinister Rasputin and its Zikasa hordes attempted to take over World of Warships. While brave captains sent these terrors back whence they came, little did the community know that, all this time, Rasputin had been plotting his return…To save the day this Halloween, players must fight the war for the living.
From Update 0.6.12.1, where there is darkness, there can also be light. And the second mission, Sunray in the Darkness, sees Transylvania return for another tour. Commanders once again head back to the Silver Spear Archipelago, sinking the forces of darkness in four brand-new Halloween ships.
Destroyer Urashima with commander Mina Hurray, cruiser Svyatozar with commander Ivan K. Ulibin, battleship Magnu-S with commander Klaus V. Teslau, and aircraft carrier Nobilium with commander Lazarus Centurio will be there to aid players in their fight. Each new vessel in your Port is also equipped with a unique consumable that does not only affect you but the enemy, too. Take them for a ride and see which one is best at destroying hordes of enemy vessels.
This time, guard towers will be lending their help as you attempt to protect them and ensure the portal to the other side is sealed once and for all—while enemy forces pour out and a sinister, debilitating fog slowly spreads across the waters. While this fog reduces a ship’s HP, spotting and detectability, it heals enemy ships, meaning players must sink their foes on the double. The task at hand is to save the towers, defeat Rasputin and a new threat, the Gorgon, and eliminate all enemies to save Transylvania.
For successfully pulling off your mission and completing special objectives, commanders receive a certain number of stars which, along with generating a rank, unlock awesome rewards. With special Halloween camo, tons of Free XP, Premium Account time, and loads of other treats up for grabs, players would have to be seriously spooked to miss out on this ghastly event.

MADISON, Wisconsin – Oct. 24, 2017 – Fantasy Flight Games and Asmodee North America today announced the newest addition to the global board game publisher’s digital arsenal: Fantasy Flight Interactive. Focused on not just adapting tabletop games, but creating fresh, new digital experiences based on Fantasy Flight Games’ beloved brands, Fantasy Flight Interactive is a new development studio with projects already in the works for Steam and other platforms to follow.
“We didn’t create a new company just to translate board games into digital games. We’re focused on the bigger picture of the experiences our fans can have on new platforms, and this will take our brands in new directions,” said Christian T. Petersen, Founder of Fantasy Flight Games and CEO of Asmodee North America.
Fantasy Flight Games will continue to develop hybrid digital board games, while Fantasy Flight Interactive focuses on more expansive video game projects. Fans can anticipate richly strategic experiences with easy-to-understand UI, built from the ground up for Steam. Asmodee Digital will serve as publisher for all of Fantasy Flight Interactive’s games.

Gerritsen has over 25 years experience working on video games like BioShock Infinite, Prey and Rune, as the former Studio Director of Irrational Games, and CEO of Human Head Studios.
“We’re incredibly excited to be bringing Fantasy Flight Games’ best game properties to life as amazing video game experiences,” said Tim Gerritsen, head of Fantasy Flight Interactive. “Fantasy Flight Interactive is made up of developers who love both tabletop games and video games and we are striving to create games that capture the best aspects of both media to entertain our fans.”
Based in Madison, Wisconsin, Fantasy Flight Interactive is part of a growing midwestern tech and game development hub. The nontraditional headquarters is fitting for a studio with a fresh, nontraditional mindset.

October 23, 2017 – Communication is a thing, and now players can do it better than ever with the launch of new social features on Blizzard Entertainment’s Battle.net® gaming platform. Blizzard Battle.net now has a Social menu tab with new features such as Blizzard Groups, social profiles, custom avatars, and more. Player chat now takes place in this new section of the platform. It’s also where players will find the Appear Offline setting, giving them the ability to go stealth and focus on a single game or task.
Just in time for the holidays, Battle.net is also getting an easier and more natural way to gift items. Players can now show appreciation for their friends by directly sending them items such as Hearthstone card packs, helping extend that “season of giving” spirit year-round.
Social Tab
Our new Social tab is your one-stop-shop for managing all your various social interactions, including chatting one-on-one with a friend and engaging in our new Blizzard Groups feature.
Chat now works even when players are offline; you can send a message to an offline friend and they’ll receive it when they come back online. You’ll also see a history of your chat, so you’ll easily be able to pick up where you left off in all of your conversations.
These chat features are designed to work seamlessly with the recently launched Blizzard Battle.net mobile app, which lets you chat on the go—download it free now for iOS and Android to help stay connected to your friends anywhere.
Blizzard Groups
Blizzard Groups are a new way for you to connect with your friends and other groups of players who share common interests, whether it’s prepping for a raid, hanging out to cheer on your favorite esports team, or geeking out over a new comic or animated short.
Each Group can have multiple text and voice chat channels, and Group administrators have a variety of tools to help manage membership, send out invitation links, and more. When it’s time to go offline, you can easily catch up on conversations you might have missed once you return.
Head to the new Social tab to get the party started!
Player Gifting
One of your Blizzard friends have a birthday coming up? Or just want to say “thanks” for some awesome support in a recent game? With player-to-player gifting, you can purchase and send in-game gifts to your friends.
To send a gift, head to the Shop tab and select a gifting-enabled item such as Hearthstone card packs. Select the Gift button, and then choose the desired recipient’s name or BattleTag from a drop-down menu during the purchasing process.
When someone sends you a gift, the upper right of the app will light up to show you that something’s waiting (you can also select View Gifts from the drop-down menu under your BattleTag). Click Claim or visit the Gifts web page on mobile to add the gift to your collection in the associated game.
Profiles and Avatars
Let the Blizzard world know a little bit more about you by customizing your profile and choosing an avatar.
Your profile lets you share what’s on your mind with an About message, add links to where people can find you on social media, show people what games you’ve been playing recently, and more. You can also choose whether to make your profile public so that potential pals can learn more about you.
Your avatar will represent you in chats, in Groups, and other places in the Blizzard community. You can choose from more than 100 different heroes, villains, and other iconic characters from across Blizzard’s game universes and beyond.
Customize your profile and choose an avatar through the View Profile button in the app header and Friends list drop-downs.
Appear Offline
Appear offline allows you to set your status to show you as “offline” to your Blizzard friends while remaining connected to Battle.net. This means you can launch the app and game away without distraction.
Appearing offline will show you as offline to everyone in your Blizzard friends list both in the Battle.net app and in-game. Gameplay and game-specific features such as matchmaking are unaffected while you are appearing offline. Note that in the case of World of Warcraft, you will still appear online as your character in-game.
While appearing offline you can still send and receive messages in the app, but it is up to you when you want to respond.
October 23, 2017 – We’re excited to share how “Gears of War 4” has been enhanced for the Xbox One X. Our new trailer showcases the wealth of graphical and gameplay enhancements that are only possible with the world’s most powerful console. We’re also excited to finally reveal the Preferred Rendering mode so you can play “Gears of War 4” how you want! Full details and assets on Xbox Wire.
True 4K Experience
Get ready to experience unmatched clarity, richness and details with true 4K visuals (3840×2160) in our Visuals Rendering Mode. Even if you’re playing on a 1080p screen, you’ll instantly notice the difference thanks to a 4K super sampled image that brings you a crisper, richer looking “Gears” game than you’ve ever seen before.
HDR
High Dynamic Range provides increased contrast between lights and darks. Battling your way through a lightning flurry in a windflare has never looked better. “Gears of War 4” on Xbox One X supports a wide color gamut for true-to-color definition – just as the artists intended – and now at 4K resolution.
Up to 60FPS For Ultra Smooth Gameplay
We’re excited to announce Xbox One X owners will have two Preferred Rendering Options to choose from in “Gears of War 4” – Visuals and Performance!
Performance
Put framerate first. For the first time ever, “Gears of War” will play at up to 60fps in 1080p in Campaign and Horde – all including higher resolution textures and some of the new enhanced graphical features available in Visuals mode.
Visuals
Push graphical fidelity to the max. This mode uses Ultra Quality Textures, a wealth of new and improved graphical features all at 4K resolution (3840×2160) thanks to the power of Xbox One X. You’ll experience the same frame rates you’ve come to expect from “Gears of War 4” – 30fps for Campaign and Horde .
In both Rendering modes, Versus will run at a rock-solid 4K 60FPS (with adaptive resolution scaling).
Dolby Atmos Audio Support
When playing “Gears of War 4” on Xbox One, we now offer Dolby Atmos, which gives you immersive, moving audio.
The Dolby Access app lets you set up your Dolby Atmos enabled home theater, TV, or sound bar for free, and lets you try or buy Dolby Atmos for Headphones, which gives you immersive sound on any headphones. Experience the visceral sounds of “Gears of War” in a way that will make you feel like you’re inside the action, only on Xbox One.
Our Most Immersive World Thanks To New Features
The world of Sera has never been more immersive thanks to brand new features and higher resolution textures – all possible with the additional horsepower and memory offered by the Xbox One X.
Enhanced Light Shafts Also known as God Rays, Enhanced Light Shafts provide true-to-life beams of sunlight in the world. Prepare for jaw dropping lighting as the God Rays peek through gaps in the canopy of trees above you, or in sunset conditions peeking through buildings and statues.
Dynamic Shadows
Shadows in “Gears of War 4” are usually pre-defined by an artist to accurately reflect the shadows objects in the world would cast based on the lighting. On Xbox One X, dynamic shadows now react true to the lighting conditions and movement of objects – for example, trees blowing in the wind will cast an accurate moving shadow on the ground – bringing the world of Sera to life like never before.
Increased Draw Distances
With the power of Xbox One X, we can maintain higher resolution textures at a further distance than ever before – creating a higher fidelity picture and crisper world around you, even on the horizon.
Superior Reflections
We’ve pushed our surface space reflections even further to look closer to as you would expect in real life. Reflective surfaces now have a higher definition reflection of your character – whether that’s in a mirror-like reflection of water, or the muddied color reflective nature of metal. It looks especially awesome on the DeeBee’s metallic armor!
Enhanced Character Textures With our higher resolution textures now available on console thanks to Xbox One X, characters show more detail from head to toe. They’ve never looked better!
Experience this all at no extra cost for “Gears of War 4” owners when you pick up your Xbox One X. And, if you’re picking up the Xbox One X but haven’t jumped in to “Gears of War 4” yet, you can try it FREE now with our 10-hour trial – the perfect showcase piece for your new super-powered console.
We’re incredibly proud of what the team has been able to achieve on Xbox One X so far. We can’t wait to see you all experience this feast for your eyeballs!
