French Tanks Arrive in World of Tanks Console Edition

June 30, 2016 — Wargaming today announced the massive content update for the free-to-play console game World of Tanks is now available to download globally on PlayStation®4, Xbox One and Xbox 360. Update 3.1 aligns all content between the three consoles with the addition of France to PlayStation®4, and a new French tank line to all console platforms. The update also includes two new weather variant maps, Steppes Sandstorm and Erlenberg Blizzard, and announces an all-new chained-op series to earn the Tier VII AMX CDC, which kicks off July 15.

The complete French tank line has joined the ranks of PlayStation®4 featuring 44 of the most specialized and highly-mobile vehicles the French nation is known for, offering players a brand new nation with unique characteristics to unleash on the battlefield. Both platforms have also been enhanced with one more French branch featuring the FCM 36, Renault R35, Somua S35, SARL 42, Renault G1, AMX 30 1er Prototype and the AMX 30 B.

Tankers can take their new Tier 9 and 10 French vehicles for a spin on two new console-exclusive weather variant maps: Steppes Sandstorm and Erlenberg Blizzard, both highlighting treacherous driving conditions while adding a challenging and exciting layer of gameplay. Steppes Sandstorm, a generally open map, has been blasted with a dangerous sandstorm, creating an eerily desolate terrain with extreme low-visibility. Erlenberg Blizzard is snowy wasteland, with ruins separated by a massive river, which would cutoff access to the other team, only now the river is frozen, offering free-reign on the territory and new angles of attack.

Scorn Announced with Teaser

June 30, 2016 – The bowels of a living nightmare – June 30, 2016 – Straight out of the twisted minds at Serbian game developer Ebb Software, SCORN is a disturbing creep through an oozing world of organic otherworldly horror. Heading to PC in 2017, SCORN can be supported starting today on Steam Greenlight: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=709630328

The first person gameplay in SCORN is a glistening combination of gunplay and puzzle solving, with the environment and the creatures it disgorges doing their utmost to confound your progress. That’s not to say every inhabitant you meet wants to eviscerate you – most of them don’t care about you one way or the other.

All of the storytelling happens in-game, with no cut-scenes to distract you from the grisly reality of the living, breathing (throbbing, dripping) world you’re in. But keep your eyes open – the game won’t show you any sympathy if you miss something important on your uneasy travels. Everything has a reason and purpose – you just need to work out what it is.

“We are trying to create something so unsettling it will make you think about the ideas and themes of the game long after you’ve finished playing,” said Ebb Software’s Ljubomir Peklar.

The environments in SCORN are entirely handcrafted, firmly bucking the procedural trend, while its storytelling through gameplay, non-linear narrative, and puzzles on a grand scale turn SCORNinto an impressionistic horror show of impressive scope and imagination.

To help the team at Ebb Software manage the massive scope of development on SCORN and get the game in the hands of players quickly, they are planning to release it in two parts, with the first part entitled “DASEIN” coming in 2017.

Civilization VI – First Look: England

2K and Firaxis Games today revealed that Queen Victoria will lead England in Sid Meier’s Civilization VI, launching on Oct 21st for Windows PC.

Queen Victoria leads England in Civilization VI

Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, Empress of India and Defender of the Faith, Queen Victoria was heiress presumptive at a tender young age. Less than a month after her 18th birthday, her uncle, King William IV passed away, and Victoria became Queen.

She would go on to reign over the British Empire for 63 eventful years, a span of time that saw the Monarch greatly expand its international holdings through military conquest. Her reign is more commonly known as the Victorian era, a period of great cultural, industrial, political, scientific and military change within the United Kingdom, where national conviction and refined sensibilities of morality became the chief ideals of its citizens.

Unique District: Royal Navy Dockyard
The first shipbuilding dockyard, which dates back to 1496 AD, was located in Portsmouth, a town on the southern coast of England. At the height of its power, the British Empire owned the most advanced and intimidating naval force on Earth. The British Navy held a series of facilities around the world where commissioned ships could be docked, refitted, repaired and overhauled for battle.

Unique Unit: Redcoat
The famous (or infamous, depending on which side you stood) Redcoats, British infantrymen dressed in garish red ensembles, were Britain’s stalwart fighting force throughout the majority of its reign as a world superpower. Redcoats were shipped off to do battle for the Monarch in far off lands such as America, Zululand, India, Egypt and more. Even though the loud uniforms made these individuals easy targets for their foes, the rationale was that blood stains were disheartening to the men and so the red clothing would hide this. It did not, as blood does in fact show on red clothing as a black stain.

Unique Unit: Sea Dog
From 1560 to 1605 AD, Queen Elizabeth I gave permission to her “Sea Dogs,” a force of privateers – armored ships owned and officered by private individuals – to attack the ships and colonies of other nations, even if England was not officially at war with them. These “Sea Dogs” were little more than glorified pirates and many spent their lives raiding towns and other ships across the Caribbean.
