Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden Gets New Gameplay Trailer

OSLO, Norway – June 20th, 2018 – Announced just a few months ago, Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden rustled quite a few feathers when it introduced a crossbow-wielding, bipedal, and unusually sassy duck to the otherwise bleak apocalypse genre in its unique and surprising reveal CGI. During last week’s E3 in Los Angeles, publisher Funcom and the developers at The Bearded Ladies provided press with the first-ever hands-on demo and received several “Best of E3” awards and nominations for the tactical adventure game launching on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 during the second half of 2018.

Today, as the E3 press embargo is lifted, Funcom and The Bearded Ladies also released the first gameplay trailer and announced the pricing, digital editions, and fired off the pre-order campaign for the game.

Now available for PC pre-order on buy.mutantyearzero.com, the game will be available in a Standard Edition ($34.99) and a Deluxe Edition ($54.99). The Deluxe Edition includes a desktop wallpaper, digital artbook, digital soundtrack, and a digital copy of the Mutant Year Zero pen-and-paper RPG book. Pre-ordering the Standard Edition will give you a three-day head start at launch while pre-ordering the Deluxe Edition gives you the three-day head start as well as access to a Beta version of the game before launch.

“Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden is our passion project,” said The Bearded Ladies CEO Haraldur Thormundsson. “It’s the game we always wanted to do and we’re incredibly excited to be working on it. We truly believe the unique mix of turn-based tactical combat combined with freeform exploration, stealth, and story will offer something new and different gamers have never experienced before.”

Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden is powered by the Unreal Engine and will be available on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 during the second half of 2018. The game is based on the classic Mutant IP that has spawned several popular pen and paper role-playing games since the 1980s, including the current Mutant: Year Zero from Free League and Modiphius Entertainment. The interactive IP rights are controlled by Heroic Signatures, a company owned by Funcom and the Cabinet Group (see earlier announcement). The Spectrum Retreat Launch Trailer

June 20, 2018 – BAFTA Young Game Designer winner, Dan Smith, and publisher, Ripstone Games, are proud to share the release date for The Spectrum Retreat for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. The upcoming first-person narrative puzzler will come to PlayStation 4 from July 10th. The game will launch globally for Xbox One and PC on July 13th with Nintendo Switch following later this summer. In The Spectrum Retreat players must explore the pristine and uncanny hotel, The Penrose, solving a series of ingenious colour-coded puzzles, all the while uncovering the reasons behind their seemingly never-ending stay. To celebrate the news, Ripstone Games has produced an all-new launch trailer, showing never seen before footage. The Spectrum Retreat will launch for £9.99 / €12.99 / $12.99.*

View The Spectrum Retreat launch trailer here:

Having won the BAFTA Young Game Designers Award (YGD) 2016 for the prototype when he was only 18 years old, Dan Smith has subsequently developed The Spectrum Retreat with the support of Ripstone, building an intriguing narrative around the intuitive first-person puzzle action. Putting players in the role of a guest at a peculiar, pristine hotel where nothing is as it seems, The Spectrum Retreat is a trippy, art deco-inspired sci-fi adventure, albeit grounded in the possibility of current technology.

“I can’t wait for people to finally play The Spectrum Retreat now that we’re only a few weeks away from launch,” said Dan Smith, Designer of The Spectrum Retreat. “The game has been a part of my life for the last five years and to get to this stage is hugely exciting. I’m really proud of the game, and working with Ripstone I’ve been able to create something that looks and plays great, with an intriguing story and new mechanics.”

“Announcing the release date today makes us realise how close we are to the culmination of such focused hard work,” said Matt Southern, Head of Development at Ripstone Games. “Dan’s puzzle design has got stronger as we’ve worked with him, and the game is now a must-play for fans of elegant first-person puzzle design. But remarkably it’s also a milestone in emotional, intelligent narrative adventure, especially for anyone interested in how new technologies might impact our lives very soon.”

The Spectrum Retreat takes place in the near future at The Penrose hotel, a peaceful yet unsettling refuge from the outside world. As a valued guest, your existence is embedded into the corridors and guest rooms of The Penrose. Through exploration of the striking art-deco hotel you will begin to uncover the mysteries of both The Penrose and the uncertainties surrounding your current stay. Your desire to unearth the truth is obstructed by an array of colour coded first-person puzzles, mind-bending physics challenges and the growing fear of exposing your true intentions.

Frostpunk Survivor Mode Now Live with Trailer

June 18, 2018 — Frostpunk – a grim mixture of city-building, survival and a leadership game – is updating today with the launch of Survivor Mode. Promised in the road map few weeks ago, and eagerly awaited by the community, Survivor Mode is the ultimate evaluation of your skills in the arctic wasteland.

A special feature for the most seasoned arctic survivalists among Frostpunk players, 11 bit studios is prepared to challenge you like never before. If you find Hard difficulty all too easy, this new mode will be the true test of your ability to survive the winter apocalypse! You can pause the game only by opening a menu – there is no active pause whatsoever! – and your progress is only saved upon exit, so all your decisions are final. The difficulty level itself is also more rough and demanding – meeting the people’s needs or balancing the delicate economy of your city will be even harder. What’s more, finishing the game in this mode will reward you with some new achievements! More can be found as explained by the devs in the new Survivor Mode Update 1.1.0 video.

Frostpunk also launches its very first discount on Steam with a 15% price drop RIGHT NOW! Frostpunk deftly mixes the city-builder and survival genres to create the first society survival game. As the ruler of the last city on Earth, it is your duty to manage both its citizens and the infrastructure. What decisions will you make to ensure society’s survival? What will you do when pushed to breaking point? Who will you become in the process?

Enlisted Will Launch on Xbox Game Preview in 2018

June 15, 2018 – During Microsoft’s 2018 E3 Stream, Darkflow Software and Gaijin Entertainment announced that their upcoming squad based MMO shooter Enlisted will release on Xbox Game Preview in 2018. Xbox Game Preview distributes games that are in-progress via Xbox Live for fans to enjoy before launch and share their feedback with developers.

Xbox Game Preview players will be able to strap on the boots of American, Soviet, and German soldiers, and jump into massive WWII battles with hundreds of soldiers and thousands of bullets flying everywhere. Enlisted’s unique game mechanics of an AI controlled squad transforms the traditional military multiplayer FPS game into a more realistic and chaotic warfare experience, making battles dynamic and massive. Enlisted offers several game modes for all tastes, from extended comprehensive battles through more fast-paced action to Battle Royale.

“We want to widen the genre of realistic FPS to a bigger audience. Realism should not always mean lengthy preparation and an extended road to the first battle. Realism should be the battle conditions and weapon characteristics being close to reality, it’s in the active interaction with your team or squad, it’s in the massive battles, where you can lose hundreds of soldiers in one assault. This is what we aim for in Enlisted”, – said Alexander Polyakov, lead producer of Darkflow Software.

The Xbox Game Preview version of Enlisted will allow players to test out and enjoy several game modes: Invasion, Offensive, City Battle, and Battle Royale. “Invasion” will offer battles with asymmetrical gameplay, where two teams will need to complete different tasks: one will be capturing and holding a large territory, while the second will try to liquidate all the invaders. The mode will throw players right into the heart of the battle. Each player will form and lead a squad of AI controlled soldiers. Squad members will follow players commands and provide them with additional lives – every time the main character dies, the player will get full control of the nearest soldier from their squad. This will help a player get back to the battle in a blink and participate in the combat longer.

Those who prefer a more consistent and thoughtful battle will enjoy “Offensive” mode. Here players will be able to build fortifications, drive vehicles, and use large caliber guns. The distances on the map will be greater than in “Invasion”, so the value of each decision and action will be higher. Players can also expect city battles for multiple numbers of participants.

The game will also feature a Battle Royale mode. This mode will include unique Team Battle Royale, where each of two teams will be representing one of the nations that fought in WW2. Players will be able to use heavy vehicles like tanks. The regular Battle Royale of Enlisted has already been presented in Cuisine Royale, an April Fool’s event. The game is now available as a standalone title on PC: http://gameroyale.net/

To follow the development process and apply for participation in alpha testing on PC, please visit the Enlisted official website: https://enlisted.net/
