Warner Bros. TV and DC Announce SXSW 2018 Plans

BURBANK, Calif. (March 1, 2018) — Time to tap into your inner Super Hero! Warner Bros. Television Group (WBTVG) and DC Entertainment are inviting fans into their SXSWXDC Super Hero lair with an epic pop culture experience for the duration of SXSW (March 9–18). The DC/WBTV bunker will not only feature the House of El’s otherworldly origin story with the upcoming SYFY drama Krypton (premiering March 21), but also Gotham City’s coolest wheels, with a display of Batman’s iconic onscreen Batmobiles and Bat-cycles. DC fans can also stop by to celebrate Superman’s 80th anniversary (click here to view the Action Comics #1000 poster video) and to meet legendary DC comic book writers and artists Jim Lee, Frank Miller and more. There will be free Jitters coffee direct from Central City; exclusive beer tastings from Supernatural star Jensen Ackles’ local brewery, Family Business Beer Company; a special look at how the Constantine comic has been resurrected as a digital series; photo-ops with Teen Titans Go! and the original creature from Critters; exclusive merchandise; cast and producer signings with WBTV’s Black Lightning and more!

Located just a few blocks from the Austin Convention Center, the DC/WBTV SXSW Experience is located at 717 Red River Street (a pedestrian-only area between 7th and 8th Streets). An official SXSW Event, the DC Experience will be open to SXSW Credential Holders (and the public) from Noon–10:00 p.m. daily for the duration of the Festival (March 9–18). In addition to the centerpiece DC Pop-Up Shop, fans will be able to interact with the worlds of comics and Super Heroes within the dedicated space.   • The DC Pop-Up Shop: Measuring 40 feet by 10 feet, the high-tech DC merchandise shop features a free Jitters coffee bar by day/beer tasting station by night, but also interactive displays covering the history, art and influence of DC Heroes — from their earliest origins to the pop culture powerhouses that those Super Heroes represent today.
  • Batmobiles: The Dark Knight will also have a presence in Austin with a display of Gotham City’s coolest wheels, including three of Batman’s iconic onscreen Batmobiles and two Bat-cycles. Fans can get up close and personal with Val Kilmer’s 1995 retro winged Batman Forever ride, The Dark Knight’s Tumbler and Bruce Wayne’s latest Batmobile from Justice League, in addition to Batgirl and Robin’s tricked out super cycles from 1997’s Batman & Robin.
  • Superman’s 80th Anniversary Exclusive SXSW Book & Poster: Featuring new art by Jim Lee, this limited-edition book celebrating Superman’s 80th anniversary is only available at SXSW 2018. Comprising some of the best Superman stories, this latest edition includes new stories and custom artwork. Fans can also have the opportunity for legendary artist and DC Publisher Jim Lee sign the book at one of his appearances during SXSW. Flanking either side will be a series of two dozen 7-by-4-foot flip panels featuring titan-sized reproductions of some of the most iconic comic book covers in history. #WarGames Season 1 Trailer and Launch Date

NEW YORK – Mar. 1, 2018 – Eko today announced that “#WarGames,” the interactive series that reimagines Metro Goldwyn Mayer’s (MGM) three-time Academy Award-nominated 1983 feature film, will launch online on March 14, 2018. Europa Universalis IV: Rule Britannia Release Date Announced

H1Z1 Launches From Early Access with Auto Royale Game Mode

SAN DIEGO  Feb. 28, 2018 – Daybreak Games® today announced the official launch of H1Z1®, the original standalone battle royale game that sparked a worldwide phenomenon. H1Z1 is now available on Steam for Windows PC with a brand-new game mode, Auto Royale™, injecting high-octane vehicular mayhem into the genre.

“In 2016, we did something unheard of – we split a successful game into two products and introduced the world to the first standalone battle royale game. The next year, we created the first battle royale esports league and became the second esport to ever air on broadcast television. Funcom Unveils Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden

OSLO, Norway – February 28th, 2018 – Of course the world ends, it was just a question of time. Funcom, the independent games developer and publisher, and Bearded Ladies, a Sweden-based game development studio that includes former ‘Hitman’ designers and Ulf Andersson the designer of ‘PAYDAY’, today announced a brand-new game called ‘Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden’. Proudly standing out as a tactical adventure game, it combines the tactical turn-based combat of ‘XCOM’ with real-time exploration and stealth gameplay, wrapping it all up in a deep storyline set on a post-human Earth.

The game, which is being developed by Bearded Ladies and published by Funcom, is set to release in 2018 on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Players must take control of a team of unlikely heroes, such as Dux (a crossbow-wielding, walking, talking duck) and Bormin (a boar with serious anger issues), and help them navigate a post-human Earth with its abandoned cities, crumbling highways, and mutated monsters on every corner. The ultimate goal: save yourselves by finding the legendary Eden.

“It’s an unusual label for a game, but tactical adventure really fits the bill, no duck pun intended,” says Executive Producer Ulf Andersson at Bearded Ladies. ‘Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden’ is powered by Unreal Engine and will be available on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 in 2018. The game is based on the classic ‘Mutant’ IP that has spawned several popular pen and paper role-playing games since the 1980s, including the current ‘Mutant: Year Zero’ from Free League and Modiphius Entertainment. The IP is owned by the Cabinet Group and the interactive rights are controlled by Heroic Signatures, a company owned by both Cabinet Group and Funcom.

Celebrating off-road, arcade racing, GRAVEL takes players to exotic locations around the world, where they’ll compete in extreme challenges across more than 50 tracks, as they choose from dozens of the most iconic vehicles ever created. Say hello to the four disciplines of GRAVEL: Cross Country, Wild Rush, Speed Cross, and Stadium Circuit. Delivering an adrenaline-fueled combination of fun and thrills, gamers will enjoy a wild single-player experience that’s centered around the Gravel Channel. Presenting the Offroad Masters, a new experience that will accompany players as they battle through 60 events along the road to fame and glory.

GRAVEL standard edition is available for PlayStation®4, Xbox One®, and Windows PC®/STEAM for $49.99.

Available at launch, GRAVEL’s Season Pass and Special Edition will be available for PlayStation®4 and Xbox One®. The Season Pass includes five add-ons and is on sale for $24.99 while the Special Edition, containing the full game and Season Pass, is available at $69.99.

Starting this week, gamers will be able to experience an exciting free demo of GRAVEL on PlayStation®4, Xbox One®, and Windows PC®/STEAM. Players will experience two never-before-seen track layouts at Monte Bianco. Set in the Wild Rush discipline, gamers can choose between four unique vehicles: the iconic Toyota Celica, Lancia Delta Integrale, Mini X-Raid All4 Racing, or the Mitsubishi ASX.
