Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath Launch Trailer

May 21, 2020 – Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and NetherRealm Studios today released the official launch trailer for Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath, the new expansion available digitally first beginning May 26. Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath expands the critically acclaimed Story mode with an all-new, action-packed campaign centered around trust and deceit. In the launch trailer, the story picks up directly where Mortal Kombat 11 left off as Fire God Liu Kang, the new keeper of time and protector of Earthrealm, is ready to activate Kronika’s Hourglass and restart history. But, now that Kronika’s Crown has been destroyed, he is forced to team up with the most unlikely of allies in the villainous Shang Tsung. The soul-stealing sorcerer, along with Fujin and Nightwolf, must now embark on a time-bending adventure into the past to recover the Crown as the fate of two worlds hang in the balance.

The entire Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath expansion will be available digitally beginning May 26, including the addition of new playable fighters – Fujin, Sheeva and RoboCop. The trailer showcases the triumphant return of Fujin, the God of Wind who serves as Earthrealm’s protector alongside his brother Raiden, and Sheeva, the four-armed, half-human and half-dragon queen of the ancient Shokan race. RoboCop, the highly advanced cybernetic police officer, makes his franchise debut and features the voice and likeness of actor Peter Weller, who portrayed the popular character in both the original “RoboCop” (1987) film and “RoboCop 2” (1990) sequel.

Additionally, all Mortal Kombat 11 owners will have access to new Stages, including the new Dead Pool, Soul Chamber, RetroKade and Kronika’s Keep arenas, accompanied by Stage Fatalities, the fan-favorite finishing moves that use the environment to destroy opponents, and the popular Friendships feature from the ‘90s, allowing players to take down their adversaries with a hint of kindness. These features will be available on May 26 as a FREE content update in conjunction with the Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath release.

Those who have already purchased Mortal Kombat 11 can preorder the Mortal Kombat 11 Aftermath expansion now, which includes the franchise-first story expansion, three new playable characters, three character skin packs (incl. three skins each) to be released over time and the “Thanks a Million” Johnny Cage skin, all for $39.99 (SRP).

Dead Age 2 – Apocalyptic Feature Video #1

May 20, 2020 – Back in 2016, Dead Age brought something new to the indie market: It combined turn-based combat with survival management, a nonlinear narrative with rogue-like elements like perma-death and all that in a sinister horror setting. The game was able to create a huge fan base on Steam that’s still active today.

3.5 years later we‘re coming back with Dead Age 2 which includes many, many new features. The combat system has become even more complex and strategic but still retains the advantage of speed over tactical role-playing games. With the new tactical options, Dead Age 2 can definitely stand the comparison to other well-known tactic rogue-likes. In our first Feature Video, we would like to give you a glimpse over the improvements from the first installment to the new one – check it out:

The combined thrill of survival and exploration has been greatly improved with a large map and over 80 locations, giving it an open world feel while being very compact. The new base remains the center of events; this time completely in 3D.

There are multiple factions to fight or trade with, or you can receive quests from, where their successful completion means improved standing with the faction leaders. Dead Age 2 therefore feels much more like an RPG with numerous quests and different consequences depending on your decisions.

The developers of Silent Dreams have been working for 3.5 years to increase the quality and re-define the vision of Dead Age 2 and we’re pretty sure that players will like it as much as they liked its predecessor! 🙂

Dead Age 2 will release on PC in Steam Early Access on June the 3rd. To stay up-to-date join the official Dead Age Discord Channel, follow Headup on Twitter and check out the game’s Steam page.

Tour de France 2020 | Time Trial Gameplay

Lesquin, France, May 18, 2020 – After revealing the new first-person camera and all teams available in the cycling simulation Tour de France 2020, NACON and Cyanide are pleased to unveil the new Time-Trial mode. This mode has been completely redesigned, something the developers have wanted to do for a long time after requests from players. The new mode features an actual time-trial stage of the real Tour de France, which has been delayed until the end of summer.

Achieving a good time in a time-trial stage requires excellent stamina management. Cyanide took this into account and included it in Tour de France 2020 with the ability to adopt a time-trial position: with your forearms resting on the bar extensions, you reduce air resistance and gain speed without increasing effort, at the expense of control of the bike. Watch out for tight turns, pick up speed by switching back to a classic stance and gain a few hundredths of a second to take first place!

With this time-trial position, you can also activate effort control. Adjust it correctly without overestimating your pace; otherwise you could end up exhausted too early.

In addition to the time-trial position, Tour de France 2020 lets you take an aerodynamic stance. Mostly useful while going down slopes, you’ll be able to rest a little and restore your stamina.

Multiple improvements and new features have been added to Tour de France 2020, including:

  • Liège-Bastogne-Liège (“The Old Lady”), a 266km race of steep climbs
  • A redesigned interface that provides better anticipation of the course and position of competitors
  • A deeper time-trial where posture and sprint management are crucial for success
  • A more realistic AI that grabs any attack opportunity

Tour de France 2020 will be available on June 4, 2020 on consoles (PlayStation®4 and Xbox One), and later on PC.

Solasta: Crown of the Magister New Features Trailer

May 18, 2020 – French independent developer Tactical Adventures has released a new features trailer for its upcoming Tactical RPG Solasta: Crown of the Magister, the first look at new features and gameplay since its successful Kickstarter last summer. The trailer dives into the character creator to assemble a team of four heroes, outfitting and preparing them to explore the uncharted world of Solasta, and engage in highly tactical and vertical combat.

Enjoy a first look at how to create a fully customized party, by choosing among a wide range of races, classes and subclasses, background stories and abilities, to maximize synergies and potential while adventuring. Wizards of the Coast has granted Tactical Adventures a license to use the Dungeons & Dragons SRD 5.1 content and rules in Solasta: Crown of the Magister.

Solasta is a team-based adventure game where each character plays a critical role in the campaign and can be a hero. The dynamic and mysterious world features elements of verticality, allowing players to use their surroundings as an element of strategy. Players can position ranged characters on high vantage points or send their thief down into shafts and caverns to scope out what’s ahead. In Solasta, light is a tool to explore the depths and hollows of dungeons or can be used as a weapon against the creatures of the dark, but if players aren’t careful, it will give away the party’s position to nasty creatures bent on their demise.

Solasta: Crown of the Magister Features:

  • VerticalitySolasta is a three-dimensional world, rather than a series of flat maps. Locations can be explored by climbing walls, flying, teleporting, crawling through tunnels, finding secret passages, or falling through unstable ground, allowing the player to use the environment to take on encounters in multiple different ways.
  • Team Based Adventure: Players will have many options to choose races, classes, backgrounds, and can even roll for stats as they create their party. All members are essential – together you will adventure through Solasta as a group, where you must work together in pursuit of your quest.
  • Tactical CRPG: Each encounter can be handled in multiple ways. Will you use the high ground to strike your enemies from above as a Darkweaver Rogue, or shove your enemies into deep chasms as a Mountaineer Fighter? Your choices alone will determine the destiny of your party.
  • Light: Light will not only help to see your surroundings as you explore deep underground or in a dungeon. It can also be used as a weapon against the light-fearing creatures you will encounter along your journey. Careful, though – light can also give away your position.
  • Created by Tabletop Players: Tactical Adventures is a team of highly experienced Tabletop players and veteran game developers who are passionate about the genre, striving to create the best Tactical RPG video game

Solasta: Crown of the Magister is coming soon to Steam Early Access.
