Crossout Holiday Update Released

Targem Games and Gaijin Entertainment announce the release of Content Update 0.12.30 “Snowstorm” in the post-apocalyptic online action Crossout. Players will get the updated Christmas brawl “Present Heist”, festive decorations and prizes as well as a new “Bobsleigh” armoured vehicle.

“Present Heist” participants defend the truck from attacks by Gronch’s henchmen while it’s loading/unloading gifts, as well as provide escort while it’s moving between bases, complete extra tasks, and fight bosses. Success in this mission is rewarded with Crackers that can be exchanged for vehicle parts, upgrades, and other prizes.

“Bobsleigh” is crazy Bob Frost’s armored vehicle, the most dangerous guy in the Frost sect. After the fire in his home village, he really lost his mind. Fireworks and rockets became his main entertainment. Bob’s “toys” constantly explode at the most inappropriate moment or with the most inappropriate force. It’s only natural that the main caliber of “Bobsleigh” is the epic rocket launcher “Snowfall” that can launch 8 volleys of projectiles. This beast is available as a part of the Explosive Santa pack until January 31st.

The full list of changes in the update is available at the official Crossout website. https://crossout.net/en/news/1457-update-pc-crossout-0-12-30-snowstorm/

GTFO Gets Surprise Update

Swedish game developer 10 Chambers Collective – formed in 2015 by nine industry veterans known for PAYDAY: The Heist and PAYDAY 2 – continues to regularly update their first game, GTFO, a 4-player co-op action/horror FPS. It has been described as “Left 4 Dead” meets “Aliens”, and uses a Rundown concept, where the game is regularly updated with new expeditions (i.e., maps, scenarios, enemies, etc.) that replace the previous ones. Today, they’re launching a surprise update where the current Rundown is extended with four new expeditions. They’re also revealing how many survived the hardcore game (hint: not many) and their secret behind GTFO’s 96% positive Steam score.

GTFO takes place in a terrifying underground facility called “The Complex,” where your team’s survival relies on your ability to communicate, coordinate – and count your bullets. The game recently reached one year in Early Access. To celebrate, 10 Chambers is now surprise-releasing four new expeditions to the current Rundown 004 / Contact. If you’re interested in seeing how two of the new expeditions look, the developers uploaded a total of 100 minutes of uncut gameplay from the latest update – here and here.

“Looking at the statistics of death rates for the last Rundown, Contact, we decided our community of Prisoners need to be tested more before they’re ready for the next Rundown chapter of GTFO,” says Simon Viklund, Narrative Director & Composer. “We’re adding four new expeditions on top of the eight that are already in the Rundown. Let’s see if the survival rate increases.”

On the day of GTFO’s one year anniversary, 10 Chambers released a short cryptic video that showcased some raw numbers from the game’s first year: Horrifying data such as the toughest expedition (R2E1, the last expedition of Rundown 002, with only 1.4% success rate) and the most deadly expedition (R1A1, the first level of the very first Rundown, that has killed almost 2 million prisoners). So far, as few as 1.85% of the players have completed the two last expeditions of Rundown 004 / Contact.

Since the last Rundown, which was released in October and introduced matchmaking in Alpha state, Steam review scores for GTFO have soared. The co-op FPS now sits at a recent review score of 96% positive.

“I think the secret behind our high positive Steam rating is our transparency. We’re very open with what kind of game GTFO is: Very challenging, not for the faint of heart, but also very rewarding when you succeed. We even have a warning text on the product page – encouraging people to research before buying,” says Ulf Andersson, Creative Director & CEO. “The exceptionally high positive reviews recently – 96% – should have to do with adding matchmaking in the latest big update. We will keep updating this feature, and maybe we’ll reach even higher.”

The developer team will now take a short break to enjoy the holidays – at a safe distance – with their families and loved ones. When they’re back, they’ll continue developing the next Rundown, number five, which is already in the planning phase according to GTFO’s public roadmap.

GTFO Early Access is available on Steam for $34,99, but to celebrate the update, it’s right now 20% off!

Arizona Sunshine Trailer Park Update Launch Trailer

Today, Vertigo Games and Jaywalkers Interactive are releasing the free Trailer Park update for Arizona Sunshine on Oculus Quest, adding another horde mode map to the untethered VR zombie apocalypse. Set in one of the more advanced campaign environments of Arizona Sunshine, the Trailer Park map is an entirely new content update to the popular VR zombie shooter’s multiplayer horde mode, where up to four survivors team up in co-op to fend off wave after wave of hangry undead for as long as they can. Vertigo Games is simultaneously dropping a PC VR beta for the Trailer Park map on Steam, now accessible to all owners of Arizona Sunshine on Steam.

The Trailer Park horde mode map transports up to four players to a closed off-area set in a grungy lot full of scruffy old trailers. Stand your ground against wave after wave of undead Freddies for as long as you can.

Arizona Sunshine is a first-person shooter built exclusively for VR that immerses you in a post-apocalyptic southwestern America overrun by zombies. Move around without restraints as you face hordes of zombies in a series of huge southwestern American environments, including treacherous canyons and deep, dark mines. Handle weapons with real-life movements and take on the undead with up to three friends in online co-op multiplayer. Thanks to destructible environments, zombie mutilations and cinematic, compelling experiences, Arizona Sunshine offers unique VR realism. Putting the undead back to rest is more thrilling and satisfying than ever before.
