Toy Soldiers HD Gets An Official Launch Trailer

Toy Soldiers HD is now digitally available on Xbox One (playable on Xbox Series X I S), Steam, and PlayStation 4 (playable on PS5). Our Nintendo Switch version is close to release but needs additional polish. Our small team pushed hard to achieve a simultaneous release on all platforms. We apologize to Nintendo fans, we assure you that we are getting very close and will have a release date soon.

In the meantime, we are very excited to release Toy Soldiers HD on PS, Xbox, and Steam platforms. Toy Soldiers HD is the digital embodiment of our childhood imagination mixed with strategy and military action. WWI era toy soldiers and military vehicles locked in strategic combat filled with authentic sights and sounds.

Toy Soldiers HD is a diorama of military action set in a child’s bedroom, a library, lounge, and more. At your command are toy army soldiers, tanks, biplanes, bombers, machine guns, mortars, fixed upgradeable emplacements to defend your base from waves of increasingly challenging attacks. These ingredients make Toy Soldiers HD a lot of fun to play.

Like many strategy games, you carefully build your defenses and plot your offensive moves, but one of the things that makes Toy Soldiers HD unique is the ability to instantly pop in and out of the battlefield from both third-person top-down strategic perspective and first-person POV shooter perspective in both single and multiplayer. Watch the battle play out as you build, upgrade, and repair your defenses or jump feet first into it and wage war against your opponent. Don’t worry, when you go full first-person POV, AI takes over your units.

Authentic sights and sounds of WWI create an immersive experience. Toy Soldiers HD will include never-before played content, enhanced HD graphics (hence the name), and improved camera and sound. All previously released DLC will be included in the campaign flow.

The Dark Pictures Anthology: House of Ashes Brings Halloween Spooks Today

Leading video game publisher and developer BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment America Inc. today released the latest cinematic horror experience in The Dark Pictures Anthology series, The Dark Pictures Anthology: House of Ashes. Alongside the game, a new trailer was released, wherein the game’s narrator–the Curator–welcomes players back to the Anthology and teases some of the horrific discoveries and life-or-death situations players will encounter.

The story of The Dark Pictures Anthology: House of Ashes takes place in Iraq, circa 2003. In the shadows of the Zagros mountains, Special Forces are hunting for weapons of mass destruction when they are attacked. The resulting firefight causes an earth tremor where both sides fall into the ruins of a buried Sumerian temple. With all communication severed, the game’s protagonists are trapped in a terrifying underworld they must navigate to escape, unaware that something ancient and evil has awakened in the shadows and has found a new prey to hunt. The story follows the five members of the cast as they are compelled to team up with their enemies from the world above to survive the monsters from the world below.

The Dark Pictures Anthology is a series of stand-alone, branching cinematic horror games designed to present a new terrifying experience on a regular basis. Each game will feature a brand-new story, setting, and new cast of characters. Experience moments of tension and terror alone in single player mode, with your friends through two player online shared story, or with up to five players in the couch-friendly movie night mode. The Dark Pictures Anthology: House of Ashes is the third game in the The Dark Pictures Anthology series which features stand-alone, cinematic branching horror games where the decisions players make determine the story they experience.

“The Dark Pictures Anthology has immersed players in a bone-chilling narrative adventure brimming with suspense,” said Kristeen Laut, Brand Manager at BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment America Inc. “With House of Ashes the next horrifically heart-pounding tale in The Dark Pictures Anthology we can’t wait for players to experience the latest story and invite them to get together with their loved ones to experience all the frights together either on the couch and through online co-op.”

Synapse Films Demons & Demons 2 Blu-ray Two-disc Limited Edition Review

What do you get when you combine the masters of Italian horror, twin tales of cursed movies, pre-reunification Germany and a heaping dose of 1980’s charm? Demons and Demons 2, of course! Widely regarded as two of Italy’s finest horror movies, Synapse Films is bringing Dario Argento and Lamberto Bava’s masterpieces to 4K blu ray just in time for Halloween. Is a ticket to this double feature of the damned worth it? Read on and find out!

FEATURE

By the 1980s, there was only one name to know when it came to the world of Italian horror: Dario Argento. Having long since established himself as a master of the slasher proto-genre Giallo, Argento found himself taking a break from directing to write a pair of screenplays for Lamberto Bava, the son of Argento’s contemporary and occasional collaborator, Mario Bava. The end result? Demons and Demons II, two of the most insane horror movies to come out of the ‘80s.

In Demons, a masked mystery man gives out free movie tickets to unsuspecting pedestrians on the streets of Germany. When a prostitute foolishly puts on a mask on display in the cinema lobby, she finds herself cursed to become an infectiously demonic beast, mirroring the plot of the movie showing in the theater. What follows is a night full of blood, gore, cocaine, and switchblade-wielding pimps as the theater-goers band together to fight off a growing number of demons before they get attacked and become demons themselves.

In Demons II, the cursed movie airs on broadcast TV and spreads the demon infection through an apartment building. What follows is a night full of blood, gore, birthday cake, and tiny child demons as the tenants band together to, um… fight off a growing number of demons before they get attacked and become demons themselves.

Italian pulp horror was never known for plot and the Demons duology is no exception. A cursed movie causing an outbreak of zombies demons is little more than a plot device designed to get us to as much horror and 80s heavy metal as we can stomach. The set pieces are bonkers and the gore is plenty and that’s all we need from these films, especially with each barely clocking in at 90 minutes. These movies have it all- Demon hookers, samurai swords, 80s punks, motorcycle chases, rebar impalements, demons bursting from the corpses of demons, and all the bile, blood, and more pus than you can shake a squib at proving that sometimes all a movie needs to be good is to be a whole hell of a lot of fun.

PICTURE AND AUDIO

Both features are presented in all new restorations from their original 35mm negatives by L’Immagine Ritrovata. Images are clear and the color pops, especially in the neon soaked streets of mid-80s Germany. Black ares hang together well with no noise and there are only a few faults in the image for Demons II owing to technical difficulties in the original filming process.

Demons also features Arrow Film’s recreation of the US cut from the new 4K remaster and both films feature English 2.0 tracks remastered by Synapse Films.

EXTRAS AND PACKAGING

Demons 1 & 2 comes in a standard clear two disc case with all new artwork on both a limited edition slipcover and a reversible sleeve that can be flipped around to showcase the films’ original art. Inside the package you’ll find reproductions of the movie ticket from Demons and a birthday invitation from Demons 2, each featuring technical information about the transfers, as well as a fold-out poster featuring art from Demons by heavy metal airbrush artist Wes Benscoter.

Moving on to the discs’ bonus features, this release is packed, apparently licensing and maintaining the majority of features from Arrow Films’ stunning UK releases for the benefit of American audiences while adding new content of their own.

You’ll find three audio commentaries across the two discs in this set. Commentary by the hosts of the Hells Belles podcast on Demons and the track by film critic Travis Crawford on Demons II are definitely worth a listen but its Demons’ commentary track by director Lamberto Bava and other choice crew members that stands apart. In his commentary, Bava dives deep into the meanings and metaphors in his film, often talking about it in the same reverance you’d expect if Fellini ever had a chance to record commentary for La Dolce Vita. To hear Bava speak about the meaning behind the aforementioned samurai sword, lining up the film-within-the-film with plot twists in the main narrative, or why the choice to feature demons and not the then-popular Italian zombie is a thing of beauty and highly recommended. In addition to the commentaries are a pair of lengthy visual essays. “Produced by Dario Argento” by critic Michael Mackenzie places Demons I and II within the larger scope of Argentos work. “Together and Apart” by critic Alexandra Heller-Nicholas explores the themes of technology in the Demons films. Rounding it all out you’ll find the typical archival interviews, trailers, and festival appearances that tend to get collected for boutique releases like this. All in all, a meaty collection of extras that will satisfy anyone interested in these films.

VERDICT

Demons and Demons II are widely regarded as some of the best that Italian horror has to offer. While the films may not always make sense and lack what most people would call a story, its hard to argue against them. There’s something special in Italy’s answer to The Evil Dead and the passion these movies were made with is evident from the start. While these films have already been released on 4K UHD overseas by Arrow Video, Synapse’s new transfers give American audiences the chance to experience the best versions of these movies without paying extra to get them through customs. Add in hours worth of bonus content and you’re left with one of the stand out boutique horror releases of 2021 and an easy recommendation for any horror hound.

Farming Simulator 22 to Introduce Beekeeping and Greenhouses

Farming will be as sweet and delicious as ever: Developer and publisher GIANTS Software introduces new beekeeping features to produce honey, and greenhouses to grow juicy strawberries, healthy lettuce and tomatoes in Farming Simulator 22. A new trailer also shines light on the livestock animals, even cuter than before, as well as the new wildlife whirling around through fields and forests.

In combination with the new production chains, farmers can extend their operation significantly through more options and produce way more than just the usual crops. This way of direct and local distribution allows for more complexity, especially in multiplayer mode with multiple farmers working together.

https://youtu.be/Nkwgr_JIDqE

Let’s make some money, with honey!
The irrefutable importance of bees shows itself in Farming Simulator 22 through various effects on the farm: by placing beehives in proximity to canola, potatoes, and sunflowers, the yield of said crops will rise thanks to pollinating. Of course, the bees also do what bees do best: produce a sweet, golden and viscous substance.

Stored on generated pallets, beekeepers (preferably wearing the new protective beekeeping suit) can either sell honey directly or deliver it to the cereal factory, where it’s used among other ingredients to produce a crunchy breakfast product. While the beehives in varying sizes are productive during warm seasons, they will only serve as a place for a buzzing slumber party when it gets cold.

Greenhouses to secure income during winter
With seasonal cycles coming to Farming Simulator 22, virtual farmers need to prepare for winter. While plowing snow and tending to livestock, additional income can be generated by building greenhouses in varying sizes. With plants and trees withered during the cold months, growing strawberries, lettuce and tomatoes will still provide a green sight – as long as fresh water is provided. And the profitability of the farm during winter is guaranteed.

Farming Simulator 22 releases on November 22nd for PC, Mac, PlayStation®5 (PS5™), Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation®4, Xbox One, and Stadia.

Conan Exiles People of the Dragon DLC Gets Official Launch Trailer

Released today on PC, PlayStation and Xbox, People of the Dragon Pack introduces 110 new items ranging from medieval building pieces to weapons, armor and placeables. The newest Conan Exiles DLC is themed around the proud kingdom of Nemedia, Aquilonia’s longtime rival and neighbor to the east.

While Nemedia is perhaps most famed for fostering the leading philosophers and historians in Hyboria, the old kingdom can also boast a powerful army and have held the Aquilonians at bay for millennia. The People of the Dragon Pack allows you to create your own version of a Nemedian stronghold, taking this history into account.

Among the new placeables you will find journals, scrolls and a bookshelf, representing the learned women and men of Nemedia, whereas the new weapons and armor pieces allow you to charge into battle donning the fierce dragon emblem. And as a counterweight to the Roman inspired Aquilonian architecture, Nemedian building pieces have a distinct Germanic touch. Most of the new items are displayed in the brand-new People of the Dragon Pack trailer.

All the new content in People of the Dragon Pack is exclusive to this DLC and adds a host of new visual options but does not give any in-game advantage in power. All the new items have comparable stats to existing items.

Conan Exiles is an open world survival game set in the savage lands of Conan the Barbarian. Launched in full on PC, Xbox, and PlayStation in 2018, it quickly became one of Funcom’s best-selling and fastest-selling games and has since been continually updated with improvements and new content. The game’s first massive expansion, Isle of Siptah, was launched earlier this year, and featured a vast new island to explore.

Endzone – A World Apart: Prosperity Brings Comfort to the Post-Apocalypse

Today, Publisher Assemble Entertainment and developer Gentlymad Studios announced the launch of Endzone – A World Apart: Prosperity, now available on Steam and GOG. The release is paired with a fresh trailer showcasing the expansion’s new features, as well as some of the luxuries in which the survivors can now partake. Prosperity isn’t just a title — after carving out a home in this ruined world, surviving through toxic rain, sandstorms, and even attacks from their fellow man, settlers can finally enjoy some of the finer things in life…like soap!

With over 350,000 units sold on Steam and GOG and 4,000 positive Steam reviews, Assemble and Gentlymad Studios are proud to release this highly anticipated expansion. With new freedoms come new challenges, as players now not only have to tend to a resident’s needs but also their wants. The new generation isn’t simply content with surviving, they want to thrive. Adding to the game’s realism, this expansion will have players strategize in different and demanding ways, planning out community decisions with more than just survival in mind. Citizens will want their Town Center upgraded into a proper City Hall and ultimately, the residents will eventually request the construction of a long-lasting building as a shining example of all the progression and accomplishments: The Beacon.

With the Prosperity expansion bringing fresh luxuries like beer, cake, coffee, and soap, players might forget that the previous threats haven’t just disappeared. Along with the comfort items, the expansion also brings new resources like sand, concrete, metal, and cement for upgraded building construction. Utilize the new supplies to protect the community from the still present threats of toxic rain, violent sandstorms, savage raiders, and the ever-looming threat of radiation. Though, once the outpost has been fortified, they’ll be free to put up their feet with a nice cup of coffee — they’ve earned it.

Brook Unveils Two New Pokemon Go Auto Catch Devices

Gaming accessory brand Brook today announced the official release of the next iterations of their wildly popular Pocket Series of wearables – the Auto Catch Reviver Plus and the Auto Catch Reviver Dia Plus. Popular with Pokémon Go players around the world, both new models of the Auto Catch Reviver come packed with community-requested and game supporting features designed to make every trainer successful. Both models are now available at retailers worldwide at the MSRP of $60 and $67, respectively.

Listening directly to Pokémon trainers around the world, the new and improved Auto Catch Reviver units come packed with handy features designed to make every Pokémon collection session a breeze. One major issue trainers had with previous models was that there was no warning if their wearable was disconnecting from the game, often resulting in missing rare Pokémon or items from special events. The new Disconnection Reminder feature will now alert players with haptic vibration to alert them that the device is about to disconnect from the game and prompt them to take action. The Auto Catch Reviver Plus and Dia Plus will also feature a battery capacity display on-screen, which was absent in earlier models, so that no trainer will have to struggle with battery levels during their collecting sessions.

To manage both function and settings, each unit will come pre-installed with Brook’s exclusive Pocket Center app. Using the app, trainers can manage their auto-catch features, offline push notifications (Android only), and, most importantly, automatic firmware updates. All future products in the Pocket Series line of wearables will also ship with Pocket Center pre-installed.

For the fashion forward trainer, Brook has also released the stylish Pocket Auto Catch Reviver Case, an exclusive leather case designed specifically for the Reviver and Revier Dia line. Besides offering additional protection from the elements, the case also adds an extra degree of portability and can be clipped to a backpack or belt.

Since the launch of the first Pocket Series Auto Catch in 2017, more than 350,000 trainers have taken their game to the next level with Brook’s Pocket series. The core features of the line is to allow players to automatically catch Pokémon and collect items while playing Pokémon Go. Various models with differing functionality appeal to trainers of all levels, as well as providing both fun and practical features such as waterproofing, shock and drop resistance, different color schemes, and even a color screen on the high-end Pocket Series Auto Catch Watchic model.
