Phantasy Star Online 2 Episode 4 Coming this August

Tokyo, June 13, 2020 – SEGA has announced that their massively popular online action RPG, Phantasy Star Online 2, will receive its first big content update, Episode 4, in August. The saga continues on PC and Xbox One. Watch as the interstellar battle between good and evil enters a familiar new dimension in the new trailer:

“The game’s first major content update, Episode 4, is coming this summer and we’re super excited to continue growing along with our player community,” said Fred White, PSO2 TEAM North America’s Head of Marketing. “Episode 4 takes place several years after the end of Episodes 1-3, which are included in the base game of Phantasy Star Online 2. This is the first of more content updates to come in the future.”

Players wake from a long sleep to find that there has been an internal invasion of fake ARKS members, a mysterious enemy called “The Phantom” appears, and a new planet has been discovered in another dimension – Earth. And that’s just the beginning of the adventures. ARKS will be able to unlock a new level cap and travel to new locations like Tokyo and Las Vegas in the pursuit of solving the mystery of the mysterious black shadow and purge the planet of the most powerful enemies encountered yet, including the mysterious organization called Mother Cluster. The popular free-to-play game is currently available on Xbox One and PC from Microsoft, and will be launching on more PC platforms soon.

Phantasy Star Online 2 players are invited to join together online to explore numerous worlds with friends and experience PSO2’s unparalleled action combat and character customization. Choosing from four unique races and nine classes, players can join forces with up to eleven other operatives at a time to experience unforgettable battles and boss fights.

The North American version of Phantasy Star Online 2 includes fully localized text and character voices in English, spanning three years of content. In addition to the immersive original PSO2 story, the NA version also features the most-up-to-date balancing and quality-of-life improvements from the Japanese service. Players can choose from four races and nine classes while tackling various missions. They can also take a break from questing by playing one of the many Casino mini-games, chilling in the Alliance Quarters, competing in the new ARKS League or attending all-new live stage events. And they will be able to do all of this with friends on both PC and Xbox One thanks to cross-platform play.

ODDWORLD: SOULSTORM PlayStation 5 Reveal Trailer

Oddworld, CA – June 11, 2020 — Oddworld Inhabitants announced that ODDWORLD: SOULSTORM is coming to both the PlayStation 5 (PS5) System and the PlayStation 4 (PS4) System.

“We are using the power of PS5 to push Oddworld: Soulstorm toward a cinematic visual and storytelling leap over our previous titles. The game’s scope and scale are larger than we’ve tackled before,” said Lorne Lanning, Co-Founder, Oddworld Inhabitants. “Its technical achievements are capable of delivering stunning graphic fidelity and advanced 3D audio, and combined with its advanced DUALSENSE Wireless Controller, PS5 will enhance our storytelling and artistic abilities to create a deeper emotional connection to the Oddworld experience for fans to enjoy.”

PlayStation Blog: https://blog.playstation.com/2020/06/11/oddworld-soulstorm-is-coming-to-playstation-5/

SOULSTORM is the second game in Abe’s heroic epic. Taking up where New ‘N’ Tasty ended, Abe has undergone a transformation from being a clueless Mudokon cog, literally about to be chewed up by the Glukkons’ mega-corporate machines, into an unlikely hero that rises to become a beacon of hope.

Revolutions start small but can gain traction quickly and Abe’s actions have not gone unnoticed. The well-funded and powerful opposition is increasingly rising against him albeit in devious and disinforming ways. In SOULSTORM, Abe will uncover a terrifying machination, one that threatens to annihilate any hope of his people’s potential freedom. If Abe fails to conquer this challenge his people will never have a chance to be free.

“The story arc of Abe’s transformation, and how that transformation effects change in large and small ways, and how his ripple effects can touch others and inspire them to take action in ways that will aid his journey. SOULSTORM is the true sequel we have always wanted to make that would put that struggle into a more devious and dangerous construct for Abe and the player to decrypt. While it would be a wonderful world if the common consensus could decide some justice that needed to take place and that it would happen overnight, but when does life actually unfold like that?”

“Changes start small and grow out of desperation as well as naivety, for if we understood how powerful and sneaky the forces against change can truly be and how they will fight every possible form of uprising in every inconceivable way…we would probably never have the courage to join the fight in the first place. And this is certainly true for Abe, for had he any idea how intense things would become, how much is truly at stake, and the horrible secrets he would learn…he likely would never have found the courage to escape in the first place. But now that he is in too deep with nowhere else to go, he must find the power within himself to achieve the impossible,” said Lanning.

SOULSTORM retains the core game play that fans have loved, while expanding with smart new features such as Scavenger’s Economy System and Crafting in a way that is relevant to Abe as a character. The game will feature leaderboards, trophies, and badges to extend the game’s possibilities and challenges. The game will be 10+ hours, but achievement hunters and leaderboard climbers will spend dozens more hours enjoying the game.

ODDWORLD: SOULSTORM will be exclusive on PS5 and PS4 for consoles and Epic Games Store for PC.
