Wargame: European Escalation Delayed – New Screens

Focus Home Interactive and Eugen Systems have announced that their forthcoming strategy title, Wargame: European Escalation, has been delayed until sometime in 2012 for the Windows PC platform. They delay was made “to ensure Wargame: European Escalation offers the best possible experience both in single player and in multiplayer”. Additionally, they put out some new screenshots to soften the blow.

Eliza Dushku Named Entertainment Matters Ambassador for 2012 CES

Those of you keeping up on 2012 CES news (it is right around the corner) should note that actress Eliza Dusku (Dollhouse, Buffy the Vampire Slayer) has been named the event’s official Entertainment Matters ambassador. As a part of her ambassadorship, Dushku will contribute to Spike TV’s “CES All Access Live” broadcast coverage throughout CES and will also host the network’s exclusive VIP CES party at Tryst Nightclub in the Wynn Las Vegas.

“I’m honored to be the first Ambassador to the Entertainment Matters program at CES and special contributor to Spike TV’s ‘CES All Access Live’ coverage programming,” said Dushku.  “I’m incredibly fortunate to have great, tech savvy fans who constantly push me to stay ahead of the curve in consumer technology, which I’m very passionate about.  I love going to CES, and I’m excited to now have a real platform to encourage more of my film and television industry colleagues to experience CES.”

The 2012 CES takes place in Las Vegas and runs from January 10 through January 13, 2012.

SOE Announces Trick or Treat Celebration Across Multiple Titles

Sony Online Entertainment has announced a full trick-or-treat celebration across many of its game titles, which will run from October 23-31, 2011. Checkout the full press release below for details on specific games and events.

SAN DIEGO – Oct. 25, 2011 – Sony Online Entertainment LLC (SOE) will feature Halloween events and promotions when players log into online titles including DC Universe™ Online, EverQuest®, EverQuest II, Free Realms®, Magic: The Gathering – Tactics™, PoxNora® and Star Wars®: Clone Wars Adventures™. During the SOE Trick-Or-Treat event, from Oct. 28 – 31, 2011, players will have a chance to collect festive Halloween loot from their favorite games. Players are encouraged to login daily to not miss any of the tricks and treats given.

Additionally, each game will also feature its own, separate in-game events:

DC Universe™ Online: October 24 – November 7
Fly into DCUO‘s frightfully fun Halloween event to defeat the scariest Bosses and earn in-game tricks and treats! All players will be auto-granted a new mission to enter the Gotham City Sewers and defeat Scarecrow, a Group Boss Fight for four players of any level. Take down the fearsome villain for a chance to earn wicked rewards, including rare loot and Spooky Tokens, which can be used to purchase ghoulish items in Skeets’ Boo-tique. The Boo-tique is haunted with Halloween items such as the Jute shirt or pants (chillingly reminiscent of the Scarecrow’s own) or a Pumpkin Head. EverQuest: October 28 – 31

Arkham City Sells Over 4.6 Million Worldwide

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has announced that their new Batman: Arkham City has topped over 4.6 million units sold in its first week at retail. These figures are for worldwide sales, not just in North America! This is not counting the Windows PC version of the game, which is due out next month.

“Batman: Arkham City is one of the best action adventure games, proven by the tremendous reviews, and it further establishes the Batman brand as a marquee franchise for our growing business,” said Martin Tremblay, President, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. “Rocksteady Studios went above and beyond in delivering an incredible game and the support of the entire team at Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and DC Entertainment drove the excellent campaign a game like this deserves.”
