Reign of Terror Returns Bigger Than Ever for 2026

Southern California’s ultimate haunted house returns this fall. Reign of Terror Haunted House, located at Janss Marketplace in Thousand Oaks, officially opens its 2026 Halloween season on September 25th, bringing guests an expanded 35,000-square-foot attraction featuring 145 rooms across 12 (2 of them brand new) terrifying themes.

For 2026, Reign of Terror is introducing two completely new sections: “The Blue Bayou Hotel” and “Backwoods”. Both areas have been built from the ground up with new environments, props, characters and scares while delivering the elaborate sets, immersive atmosphere and relentless scares Reign of Terror has become known for.

In The Hotel, guests enter a sinister new environment where checking in may be considerably easier than checking out. Backwoods takes visitors into a secluded and decaying world far removed from civilization, where they’ll quickly discover they aren’t alone. Together, the two additions represent a major expansion of the Reign of Terror experience for the 2026 season.

And the changes don’t stop there.

The fan-favorite Fun House has been extensively remodeled for 2026, introducing new scares and surprises throughout the section. Reign of Terror has also significantly expanded its post-haunt photo experience, adding large-scale themed sets and props where guests can capture photos after surviving the attraction.

The expansion brings Reign of Terror to an enormous 35,000 square feet, 145 rooms and 12 interconnected themes, continuing the attraction’s reputation for delivering an unusually long haunted-house experience packed with detailed environments, live performers, special effects and scares around seemingly every corner.

Now entering its 27th year, Reign of Terror has grown from a local Halloween attraction into one of Southern California’s most elaborate haunted-house experiences. When “Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift” opens on Wednesday, September 16 at Universal Studios Hollywood, the theme park’s eagerly awaited first outdoor, high‑speed roller coaster will deliver an unprecedented surge of adrenaline and a new level of intensity to the destination, unlike anything experienced in the park’s decades‑long history.

Universal Pictures’ $7 billion Fast & Furious franchise, which celebrates its 25th anniversary this year, serves as the driving force behind Universal Studios Hollywood’s new, outdoor roller coaster, “Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift.” With speed, adrenaline and street racing at its core, the 11-film franchise is a natural fit for a coaster at a theme park where movie‑themed attractions already take center stage. An all-new film in the saga, Fast Forever, will race into theatres in March 2028.

The ride celebrates the Fast & Furious franchise and captures the spectacle, suspense and meticulous choreography created for the edge-of-your-seat driving sequences the films are renowned for, offering guests a chance to experience the energy and thrill of high-speed action for themselves.

Located on the Upper Lot of Universal Studios Hollywood, “Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift” is situated within an expansive red brick-garage-like structure. Two stationary, photo op prop car reproductions welcome guests just outside the ride as they make their way through the entry archway towards the queue.
In a technological first, a portion of the “Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift” ride track will race through a transparent encased section of the queue, building on the anticipation as guests wait to ride.

A unique dual-launching, split-ride track will alternate trains from dispatch to propel guests on an epic adventure that will take them over and under portions of the multilevel Starway escalator, through four spectacular launches, an exciting inverted dive loop, twisted pretzel loop and inverted stall, among others, at speeds of up to 72 MPH and a force of up to 3.6 Gs along 4,100 feet of elaborate aerial track constructed with sound-reduction technology while drifting at 360-degrees in their individual ride vehicles.

Thrill seekers will begin their journey lap-bar harnessed into one of four iconic Fast Saga ride vehicles—the Dodge Charger, Mazda RX-7, Nissan Skyline GT-R and the Toyota Supra—each modeled after the cars driven by favorite Fast characters in the film series. The arrival platform will be anchored by an all-original, large-scale mural created by world-renowned artist Tristan Eaton, which depicts the finale street racing action scene in the very first Fast film, 2001’s The Fast and the Furious, with a montage of the aerial-bound Dodge Charger and Toyota Supra vehicles racing against a speeding train. Another inspirational Tristan Eaton mural will be featured within the queue in tribute to the entire film franchise.

Equipped with a fully independent audio system, each ride vehicle will surround guests with true‑to‑type engine and sound effects unique to the car they are riding in. And, because each ride vehicle is fully rotational and independently programmed to drift in motion along each train, guests can enjoy four varying experiences depending on which vehicle they are seated.

With real estate at a premium at the Hollywood theme park destination, the visionaries at Universal Creative had the foresight to transform the hillside terrain into the backbone of the coaster, using its natural contours and vista as both the structural base and a defining element of the ride’s imaginative design. The end result delivers breathtaking panoramic views of the San Fernando Valley, the Universal Studio movie studio and the theme park.

Designed to advance the storyline while keeping guests entertained, the queue guides guests through an environment filled with recreated props from the Fast Saga films. Select displays will feature QR codes that guests can scan for additional behind‑the‑scenes insights and context about the displays. The QR code opens to Universal Studios’ fan engagement site, the “Backlot Club.” From there guests can either create a new account or login to their existing account to enjoy the behind-the-scenes information as it pertains to the various displays.

The Last Caretaker Update 5.5: Deck Drop Trailer

Channel37 releases Update 5.5: Deck Drop, the seventh Early Access update for The Last Caretaker, available on Steam and the Epic Games Store. The update adds new quests, memories, storage systems and locations alongside extensive optimization, fixes and polish shaped by player feedback. The Last Caretaker is also 20% off through September 13, and part of Steam PvE Survival Crafting Fest 2026.

Update 5.5: Deck Drop wasn’t originally on the roadmap. With Update 6 already in development, the team had another substantial batch of improvements and content ready ahead of schedule. Players had also been asking for better ways to store and move resources, smoother moment-to-moment play, and more reasons to revisit existing parts of the world. Rather than hold that work for the next major update, Channel37 decided to release it now.

Update 5.5: Deck Drop Highlights

Expanded storage: 11 new container modules, from portable storage to large Bulk Battery, Petrol and Diesel containers.
More history to uncover: Pack of new memories and even more HoloMemories, alongside new questlines MOSES Field Reserve Program and Memory for Aron.

Nerd Street Events, has officially unveiled its full programming lineup ahead of this year’s Long Beach Comic Con 2026, taking place September 5 – 6 at the Long Beach Convention Center.

In its first year under Nerd Street Events, the team behind Twin Cities Con, Des Moines Con, Central Florida Comic Con and more, the event will bring fans together for a welcoming weekend centered of the fun of comics and cosplay, the creativity of artists and creators, special guest appearances and an engaging lineup of programmings.

Attendees can look forward to Main Stage conversations celebrating Five Nights at Freddy’s, Pokémon, Phineas and Ferb, Power Rangers and more, alongside the official costume contest, GeekFest film programming, artists and publishing discussions, cosplay workshops and more.

Long Beach Comic Con will also host the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Shell-A-Bration, a celebration of the original live-action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles films of the 1990s. Fans will have the opportunity to meet the heroes from the original film series, along with characters including Shredder, Keno and the Fellow Chucker. Albion Online Dragonfire Update Out Now

Albion Online, the free-to-play fantasy sandbox MMORPG developed by Sandbox Interactive has launched its latest major content update ‘Dragonfire’ today, unleashing Dragons onto the world of Albion for the first time. Players will contend with the lair of a huge Fire Dragon, face enemies known as The Ashborn, and explore a new realm called the Ancient Lands. The update is available across all platforms; PC, Xbox Series S|X, Android and iOS devices.

About Dragonfire

There’s plenty for players to explore with the launch of ‘Dragonfire’ and one of the biggest new features is The Ancient Lands, a completely new region offering exploration, PvE and PvP combat. Portals will appear throughout Albion, some for solo players and small groups, and some supporting parties of up to twenty players. After entering a portal, players will find themselves on a floating island and must progress by defeating mobs of enemies and unlocking keystones that allow teleporters to be activated.

Traversing the Ancient Lands will eventually lead players to four Drake Islands, where they’ll find rewards including Treasure Chests and Waystone Fragments that will help unlock access to an even deadlier area, the Dragon Sanctuary.

Only the toughest warriors who enter the Dragon Sanctuary will make it through, and those who do will come up against the most intense PvE challenge in Albion’s history; Azaryon, the Fire Dragon. But for those who are daring enough, defeating him can lead to the most valuable reward of them all; a Drake Egg that can be cared for and grown into a Firewing Drake mount to carry players across the world and strike terror into their enemies.

And it’s not just in the Dragon Sanctuary that players can face Dragons. They’ll also attack the open world, offering spontaneous encounters on the Royal Continent for everyone, as well as new high-level objectives for guilds in the Outlands.

The “Royal Hunt” Creator Event

Albion Online will mark the release of the Dragonfire update with a new creator contest, running until October 12. Following the success of their previous Crucible events, the Royal Hunt will see content creators forming guilds and competing to complete missions – including slaying Dragons. By doing so, they can earn giveaways for their communities, and the most successful will get exclusive, real-life Dragon Coins minted from genuine silver. Families can celebrate the funny and heartwarming return of Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Jessie and the rest of the gang at home when Disney and Pixar’s global blockbuster “Toy Story 5” streams exclusively on Disney+ September 23, 2026.

Additionally, an all-new music video for the Piano Version of 14-time GRAMMY® Award-winning artist Taylor Swift’s original song “I Knew It, I Knew You” – featuring footage from “Toy Story 5” – is now available to watch on Disney+, Spotify and Apple Music. The record-breaking number-one hit single is performed by Taylor Swift and written and produced by Swift and Jack Antonoff.

The smash hit feature, which Deadline’s Damon Wise called “a fun, thoughtful, multi-generational family film,” has grossed over $1.1 billion worldwide since its June debut in theaters, a success that’s matched by overwhelming audience and critical acclaim. The film is Certified Fresh™ and Verified Hot by Rotten Tomatoes® and earned an A CinemaScore®.

The all-new adventure reunites iconic characters, introduces families to a new generation of toys and brings the next chapter of “Toy Story” to viewers at home. “Toy Story” is the most-watched film franchise on Disney+ with over 2 billion hours streamed globally, and “Toy Story 5” now joins the “Toy Story” Collection, where fans can stream the Academy Award®-winning franchise.
