Nexon America invites players to rediscover the world of classic MapleStory with today’s official launch of Global MapleStory Classic World. Designed to capture the nostalgia and community-driven spirit of the original MMORPG experience, Classic World invites longtime fans and new players alike to explore Maple World, build their characters, team up with friends and take on challenging monsters and bosses.

Players can experience familiar MapleStory gameplay, including classic character progression, job advancements, party quest and social activities, alongside features designed for this new iteration of the game. Following Founder’s Access, the Grand Launch marks the next chapter for players looking to revisit the world or experience its classic adventure for the first time.

Looking ahead, Hanbyeol Oh, CPO (Chief Product Officer) at Nexon America, better known to MapleStory players as “Inkwell”, outlined his vision for Global MapleStory and Global MapleStory Classic World in a recent post. He described how the two games will complement one another, with Classic World “intended to offer a more relaxed and social experience, with a greater emphasis on enjoying the world and the people around you at your own pace.”

With this key difference at the heart of the vision for Global MapleStory Classic World, development paths for the games would progress in different ways as well, with Classic World’s future not beholden to mirroring the original game’s history. “Classic World may begin with nostalgia, but it is not a project that ends with nostalgia.”
