WBTV Comic-Con 2016 Hotel Key Cards

BURBANK, Calif. (July 7, 2016) — Warner Bros. Television Group’s Super Heroes are back at Comic-Con for 2016, but the only question is which one will you take back to your room? Supergirl? The Flash? The Green Arrow? One of the Waverider’s crew? A resident of Gotham? Or maybe even H.G. Wells!

During Comic-Con 2016, hit DC series Arrow, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, The Flash, Gothamand Supergirl, as well as the upcoming new thriller Time After Time, will be individually featured on limited-edition collectible keycards at top hotels throughout the San Diego area.

Nearly 40,000 branded room keys will be available to fans at nearly 40 participating hotels, courtesy of Warner Bros. Worldwide Television Marketing.

World of Warships Short Dev Cycles Produce Results

July 7, 2016 — The World of Warships team has chartered a new development course—short-term dev cycles. This reorganized process means that development can react and implement community demands quickly, with most updates happening every three weeks. Along with  fine-tuning the overall World of Warships experience, development will continue to enrich gameplay with new features and content at a steady cadence.

This new approach was first used on weather effects that were added stepwise over several updates. The team started by introducing them on one map for tiers 8–10, tested these effects thoroughly and, listening to player feedback, fully polished the feature, then implemented it for vessels of Tier 6 and higher across 11 maps.

Today, short-term dev cycles introduces revamped matchmaking, with the developers having upgraded the algorithm to further balance teams. Now, players will find their battles even more exciting, as the matchmaker will work to make both teams even more equal in force, yet still diverse in gameplay style. Now, neither team has the upper hand and victory hinges even more on player skills and teamwork.

World of Warships will also experiment with new game modes. The team is currently working on several prototypes, and, starting today, the Bastion game mode will only be available for higher-tier battles on the Atlantic map. In it, players will be able to take part in capturing, assaulting or defending onshore installations.

Later in July another game mode will become available for testing—Epicenter—with more details to be disclosed soon. The team will also be working towards releasing the first iteration of integrated voice chat along with many anticipated improvements to the visibility system, mini-map and account leveling.

New Attack on Titan Trailer

Burlingame, Calif. July 6, 2016 KOEI TECMO America today revealed the multiplayer Scout Mode as well as additional gameplay mechanics available in Attack on Titan, the titanic action game based on the worldwide anime hit by the same name, alongside three new character trailers and a new gameplay video highlighting the game’s Decisive Battle Signal system. Attack on Titan will release on August 30 for the PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system, Xbox One, the all-in-one games and entertainment system from Microsoft, and digitally for the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system, PlayStation®Vita handheld system and Windows PC via Steam®.

The high-octane Scout Mode allows players to recruit up to three companions online to venture outside the wall and face the eerily human-like Titans together. Starting at the camp, team members are able to upgrade their gear, change their costumes and prepare resources for an upcoming onslaught. The leader of the group is able to choose from a wide selection of missions taking place across a variety of different stages, including the Forest of Giant Trees, the Ruined Town, a Farm Village and even the Stohess District. These missions, separate from the main campaign, offer further action-packed events to face as a team.

Throughout Attack on Titan players will have the opportunity to upgrade their titan-slaying gear. The Omni-Directional Mobility Gear, blades, and scabbard can be enhanced at the camp with materials found from slaying Titans on single player and multiplayer missions. Enhancements to the Omni-Directional Mobility Gear include improved anchors, allowing them to attach on to Titans from a greater distance and at faster speeds. Blades can be sharpened, as well as improved to become longer and more durable, with scabbard upgrades allowing additional blades and gas canisters to be carried. It is important for players to enhance their equipment to perform more effectively on the battlefield.

KOEI TECMO America released a new gameplay video highlighting the Decisive Battle Signal. Rescuing regiment members in danger and slaying Titans will fill up the Decisive Battle Meter which, once used, calls everyone in the player’s vicinity to their side to deal a great amount of damage. When activated their attack damage will be heightened, with the blunting of blades and depletion of gas momentarily stopped.

In the centerpiece of the weekend, Star Trek: Celebrating 50 Years will take over Hall H on Saturday, July 23 (2p.m. – 3p.m.), when the legendary William Shatner (Star Trek) and Star Trek alumni Scott Bakula (Star Trek: Enterprise), Michael Dorn (Star Trek: The Next GenerationStar Trek: Deep Space Nine), Jeri Ryan (Star Trek: Voyager) and Brent Spiner (Star Trek: The Next Generation) take the stage to reflect on 50 years of Star Trek and its indelible mark on our world, as well as what’s to come as the franchise gets ready to boldly return to the small screen.  The conversation will be moderated by Bryan Fuller, executive producer of the new Star Trek television series coming to CBS All Access, following its network premiere in January 2017.

50 Artists. 50 Years. Art Exhibit

San Diego Comic-Con marks the worldwide debut of the art exhibit 50 Artists. 50 Years. at Michael J. Wolf Fine Arts in San Diego’s Gaslamp District (363 Fifth Ave #102, San Diego, CA 92101).

Created to commemorate Star Trek’s 50th anniversary, 50 Artists. 50 Years. features Star Trek-inspired works by 50 artists from around the globe, including the last piece created by Leonard Nimoy, a renowned photographer in his own right. The exhibit will include original 2D and 3D pieces by the artists, who selected a variety of mediums — illustrations, photographs, sculptures, paintings, graphics and more — to express their love of the franchise and the inspiration gained from it.

Fans are invited to tour the art exhibit Thursday, July 21 through Saturday, July 23 from 11a.m. – 8p.m. and Sunday, July 24 from 10a.m. – 5p.m. The exhibit is free and does not require tickets. MAC Cosmetics

From the cutting-edge labs of the Smithsonian Institution to the front-lines of the digital economy, the promises made in Star Trek are coming true.  This panel gives a glimpse at real Trek technology: the tricorder that may change medicine; laser weapon technology; and an actual tractor beam.  And fans will get a preview of the original Starship Enterprise, fully restored after 50 years and the centerpiece of the National Air & Space Museum.  This panel will be supplemented by exclusive preview clips from Smithsonian Channel’s two-hour special “Building Star Trek,” which will air later this year.

Star Trek has influenced many of us to fall in love with the infinite possibilities of space exploration. The various television series and films have also made an indelible impact to NASA. NASA scientists, engineers and astronauts often cite Star Trek as inspiring them to pursue careers in their fields.  (Nichelle Nichols even helped NASA recruit astronauts in the 1980s.)   How does NASA’s vision of the future mimic the world of Star Trek and where does it differ?  What technologies in the Star Trek world have paved the way for real technologies being developed by NASA?   Robert Picardo, who portrayed The Doctor on Star Trek: Voyager, will moderate a panel which includes Astronaut Kjell Lindgren, NASA Johnson Space Center; Amber Staughn, Astrophysicist, NASA Goddard Space Flight Center; Bobak Ferdowsi, Flight Systems Engineer, NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory; and Jay Falker, Early Stage Portfolio Executive, Space Technology Mission Directorate, NASA Headquarters.

Star Trek celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2016. Born from the mind of Gene Roddenberry, the original Star Trekseries debuted on September 8, 1966 and aired for three seasons — a short run that belied the influence it would have for generations. Launching the careers of William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy, the series also broke new ground in storytelling and cultural mores, providing a progressive look at topics including race relations, global politics, the environment, and more. It spawned five more television series and 13 feature films, spanning the course of half a century.

A new Star Trek television series, produced by CBS Television Studios, will launch with a special preview broadcast on the CBS Television Network in January 2017. The premiere episode and all subsequent first-run episodes will then be available in the United States exclusively on CBS All Access, the Network’s digital subscription video on demand and live streaming service.   The next chapter of the Star Trek franchise will also be distributed concurrently for television and multiple platforms around the world by CBS Studios International. The series will be produced by CBS Television Studios in association with Kurtzman’s Secret Hideout, Fuller’s Living Dead Guy Productions, and Roddenberry Entertainment. The RIG Flex LX headphones are fairly straightforward when it comes to their overall design, but the true genius in the RIG Flex LX is just that. The headphones are simple but very good at what they do. Wearing them is a gamer’s dream come true. The RIG Flex LX headphones are super light and feature very comfortable ear cups that won’t cause any pain after many hours of usage.

The included audio adapter bring the RIG Flex LX headphones to the next level and act as a sort of control unit for the system. The audio adapter plugs into the Xbox One wireless controller, then the headphones are plugged into the adapter. There is even an additional 3.5mm audio input to connect a second audio source! The audio adapter acts a mild audio amplifier for the headphones, and it does a lot for the system’s audio intensity. Explosions and gunfire from your favorite FPS will sound amazing. The most clever feature of the audio adapter is the dual rotary knob volume control. One knob controls the game audio volume while the other controls the chat volume. There is even a simple to use EQ selector that’s controlled by a single button on the top of the adapter.

The noise cancelling boom microphone do a very nice job of cancelling our ambient noise while you are speaking to your teamates and I have no negative things to say about them whatsoever. You can toggle the mute on and off by pressing the volume control knob on the audio adapter.

D23 Expo 2017 Ticket Sale Date

BURBANK, Calif. – July 6, 2016 – On Thursday, July 14, at 10 a.m. PT, D23: The Official Disney Fan Clubwill begin selling tickets for the next D23 Expo, which will take place July 14–16, 2017, at the Anaheim Convention Center. The largest Disney fan event in the world, D23 Expo celebrates all the wonderful worlds of Disney entertainment, uniting all parts of The Walt Disney Company under one roof, including The Walt Disney Studios (including Marvel, Pixar, and Lucasfilm); Walt Disney Parks and Resorts; Disney Consumer Products and Interactive Media; and Media Networks (including ABC, Disney Channel, and Radio Disney). D23 Expo 2017 marks the fifth biennial event held in Anaheim.

Once again the Expo will celebrate the past, present, and future of Disney with live events, celebrity appearances, panels, presentations, sneak peeks, and immersive experiences. Ash vs Evil Dead Season Two Teaser Trailer

Beverly Hills, Calif., July 6, 2016 – STARZ released a new teaser trailer and photo today for the highly anticipated10-episode second season of the half-hour series executive produced by Sam Raimi, Rob Tapert, Bruce Campbell, Ivan Raimi, and Craig DiGregorio who serves as executive producer and showrunner.

The second season roars back into action with Ash leaving his beloved Jacksonville and returning to his hometown of Elk Grove. There, he confronts Ruby. The former enemies have to form an uneasy alliance as Elk Grove soon becomes the nucleus of evil.

The cast is led by Bruce Campbell (Evil Dead, “Burn Notice”) in the role of Ash Williams; Lucy Lawless (“Salem,” “Spartacus”) as Ruby, who now possesses the powerful Necronomicon; Ray Santiago (“Touch,” Meet the Fockers) as Pablo Simon Bolivar, Ash’s loyal sidekick dealing with the trauma he suffered in the cabin; and Dana DeLorenzo (A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas) as Kelly Maxwell, who, grief-stricken after the death of her parents, plots revenge against The Evil Dead.

Star Trek Online Agents of Yesterday Launches

Razer Announces Sponsorship of Denial eSports

IRVINE, Calif. – Razer, a world leader in connected devices and software for gamers and a pioneering supporter of competitive gaming, today announced its title sponsorship of North America-based Denial eSports. The eSports organization is known for teams competing in “Call of “Duty®,” “Halo™,” “League of Legends™,” and “Smite™.”

Among other considerations, the Razer and Denial deal provides the eSports team with gaming mice, keyboards, headsets, mouse mats and Razer’s professional-grade Wildcat Xbox One controller. Marc Summers Returning for Double Dare Live Event

NEW YORK – July 6, 2016 – Nickelodeon’s The Splat–the network’s programming block dedicated to Nick’s legendary library of hits from the ‘90s and 2000s–will salute the 30th anniversary of Double Dare by bringing back original host Marc Summers for the first time in 16 years for a special live edition of the iconic game show on Friday, July 22, during Comic-Con International: San Diego 2016.

Streamed on Facebook Live from the The Splat’s Facebook page beginning at 9:30 p.m. (PT), fans can watch the red and blue teams test their trivia knowledge and compete in a host of physical challenges including the Wringer, Down the Hatch, the Human Hamster Wheel and the Double Dare Nose from the legendary obstacle course. The Splat will also feature behind-the-scenes photos and Q&As with Summers on its social media platforms including Twitter and Snapchat throughout the night.

The Splat will keep the celebration going on air with Double Dare Week, hosted by Summers, beginning Monday, July 25, on TeenNick at 10 p.m. (ET/PT). The programming lineup will feature brand-new Double Dare game interstitials, exclusive Snapchat photos from the live event, the most memorable moments from the game show and episodes from the original series, Family Double Dare, and Double Dare 2000.
