Space Hulk: Deathwing Solo Campaign Gameplay Trailer

December 2, 2016 – Space Hulk: Deathwing, the upcoming first-person shooter set in the Warhammer 40,000 universe, just ended its Technical Beta. Tens of thousands of players got their hands on the multiplayer co-op mode of the game – in the span of a few days, several millions of Genestealers were purged though relentless assaults led by players who were enthralled by spectacular co-op gameplay served in an immersive rendering of this much-loved setting.

The Beta has helped settle several gameplay adjustments and technical tweaks that the development team has already started to tackle tirelessly. Feedback from the community and players has proven invaluable for the teams at Streum On studio and Focus Home Interactive, who are now putting all their efforts into offering the best possible experience for players when the game releases.

To make the wait until release more bearable, here are 13 minutes of uncut gameplay footage from the single-player campaign. A new Xenos threat has risen from the depths of the Space Hulk. Your Deathwing squad must purge this newly discovered strain, which resembles the Ymgarl Genestealers. These creatures are even more cunning, tough and lethal than regular Genestealers, and their presence on the Space Hulk Olethros remains a mystery. The Psygate, a psychic bridgehead established by the Librarian, enables the Librarian to change equipment and Psychic powers during missions. This allows them adapt to various encounters while exploring the Space Hulk. Squad mates’ loadouts can be also be swapped using the same ability. For example, equipping them with shields and war hammers will transform your squad into a particularly strong and hard hitting force. But, of course, with this setup, your companions won’t be able to deal damage from a distance or heal teammates.

Pre-order now on Steam to get 15% off and one in-game weapon – the Lost Mace of Corswain. Space Hulk: Deathwing is available for download on PC, December 9 before landing on consoles in early 2017. The Flame in the Flood Coming to PlayStation 4

[LONDON – December 2, 2016] The multi-award-winning The Flame in the Flood will make its PlayStation®4 debut early next year, as The Molasses Flood and Curve Digital announce a very special Complete Edition. The Flame in the Flood: Complete Edition is available exclusively for PlayStation®4 and contains a brand new Directors’ Commentary – which offers incredible insight into the design and development – a wonderful dynamic theme, two new system avatars, plus a host of gameplay enhancements, designed to offer the most complete The Flame in the Flood experience possible.

Released on PC and Xbox One earlier this year, The Flame in the Flood is a real voyage of the unknown through a visually beautifully, yet impossibly harsh wilderness. Taking place in post-societal America, players must traverse through procedurally-generated landscape, foraging for supplies, crafting survival tools and evading predators. It’s a hostile environment, with every fresh discovery providing players with reward or taking them a step closer to death.

The game was created by The Molasses Flood, a team of AAA refugees, with veterans members hailing from the likes of Irrational, Harmonix and Bungie. The team has contributed to massive critical and commercial successes, such as the BiosShock games, Rock Band, Guitar Hero and the Halo series.

“We’ve been huge fans of the game since its Early Access days, so we’re absolutely thrilled to be partnering with The Molasses Flood,” said Jason Perkins, managing director, Curve Digital. “It’s a game which is as deadly as it is beautiful and we’re excited to be bringing it to an even wider audience.”

“We’ve been chatting with the guys at Curve for ages about this,” adds Forrest Dowling, president and lead designer, Molasses Flood, “so it feels good to get this out in the open. We’ve always wanted the game to go as far and as wide as possible, so working with them to get the Complete Edition onto PlayStation was a bit of a no-brainer. The additional content and gameplay enhancements very much make this the definitive version – we can’t wait to get it out there.”

The Flame in the Flood: Complete Edition will be available on PlayStation 4 in January 2017. More details will be announced in due course.

Additionally, it will be playable exclusively at PSX this weekend at booth B1014 and B1015

Ghost Town Mine Ride & Shootin’ Gallery Review (HTC Vive)

Spectral Illusions is a name many of you video gamers out there might not know just yet. However, if you are a part of the haunted house/haunter community, you will no doubt recognize them as a well-known producer of digital projector effects. I had seen them at various Halloween-related trade shows like ScareLA and Midsummer Scream, so I knew that they made quality effects. What I did not know was that this two-person team was working on what might just be the best “on-rails” virtual reality shooter to date: Ghost Town Mine Ride & Shootin’ Gallery. And it’s out now for your gaming enjoyment… If you dare!

Ghost Town Mine Ride & Shootin’ Gallery puts players in the shoes of a person exploring an abandoned thrill ride – a mine ride as the title mentions. The experience starts off in a small office attached to the mine ride and shooting gallery. From there, you will make your way into the ride, with the first stop being the stationary shooting gallery. Armed with a six shooter, players can shoot at the various targets as long as they like. The shooting gallery experience is extremely well-done, with 1:1 aiming and gun manipulation. Thankfully, the game still has some arcade shooter in its genetics as you have unlimited rounds for your pistol, and reloading is just a simple control press.

Speaking of controls, Ghost Town Mine Ride & Shootin’ Gallery uses the HTC Vive motion controllers extremely well. Movement is done in real-time, no teleportation here, and I am very happy for that. I think teleportation takes players out of the VR experience. Now, it is true that some players get motion sickness while using virtual reality headsets. If this is you, I would highly suggest you skip this game unless you pick it up just for the excellent shooting gallery. This is because after you shoot your heart out at the shooting gallery, you venture further into the attraction, boarding the mine ride itself. From there… Well, all Hell breaks loose and you are in for a wild ride.

Visually, Ghost Town Mine Ride & Shootin’ Gallery is a beautiful VR experience. The atmosphere is perfect and I experienced a ton of jump scares on this mine ride gone berserk. The sound is equally immersive and just adds to the creep-factor of the ride. In terms of performance, even when the action was crazy and frenetic, the frame rate kept stable and I experienced very little in the way of juttering when I turned my head. You can stand or sit when you board the mine ride, and I highly suggest you stand at moments when you would be standing in the experience and sit when you are riding the mine ride. Have a chair nearby and just be careful not to trip over it, lol.

Now, there are some bugs that still need to be worked out. For instance – every once in a great while, I would end up getting thrown out of the mine cart due to a glitch. Unfortunately, there is not much you can do at that point except restart. There are no save points or anything like that. In fact, that kind of issue is where the game’s independent development shows through. For the most part, it is an amazing experience that lasts about a half hour.

Overall, Ghost Town Mine Ride & Shootin’ Gallery is one of the best virtual reality-based experiences I have ever played. Finally, Ghost Town Mine Ride & Shootin’ Gallery is only $8.99 on Steam, making it one of the most economical VR experiences I have ever played. If you own an HTC Vive, you owe it to yourself to purchase Ghost Town Mine Ride & Shootin’ Gallery right away. You won’t regret it.
