RIDGEWOOD, NJ (August 16, 2018) — People of the world, rejoice! El Presidente, beloved leader of Tropico, has today announced that Tropico 6, the next instalment of the critically acclaimed dictator sim, will release worldwide for PC in January 2019, with the console versions planned for a summer 2019 launch.
In a statement made directly from the palace balcony, it was confirmed that Kalypso Media and El Presidente want Tropico 6 to be the biggest and greatest Tropico yet. To achieve this, the hard-working citizens at Limbic Studios are working tirelessly and making the most of the extra development time afforded by a 2019 release to deliver the most complete and balanced experience ever seen in a Tropico game. By using the Unreal engine for the first time in the series’ history, the world of Tropico has never looked more stunning, whether zoomed out for a full view of far-reaching archipelagos or watching each individual citizen go about their daily routines at street level.
To further excite his beloved fans, our bearded leader has approved a new gameplay video showcasing the beautiful archipelagos, breath taking world wonders and intricate transport systems to connect his citizens together. Not to mention the many ways El Presidente can now customize his humble abode to watch over his people.
If that’s not enough to get fans champing at the bit, Kalypso can also confirm that there will be a closed Steam beta coming this autumn, giving dedicated fans early hands-on access to the game and the opportunity to help shape the final gameplay experience with their feedback. More details will be announced soon.
Tropico 6 will be making a return to gamescom in Cologne next week with hands-on gameplay available in the consumer hall (Hall 8, B43) and by appointment with the development team in the business area (Hall 2.1, C10/D13). To secure your demo slot with the team, please contact the PR team with your availability.

Burlingame, Calif. – August 16, 2018 – KOEI TECMO America revealed an array of new characters today for Warriors Orochi 4, the latest installment in the popular one-versus-thousands action game series. Fan-favorite characters from across the DYNASTY WARRIORS and SAMURAI WARRIORS franchises return to the battlefield when they are threatened by an unknown force; but as they uncover the mystery surrounding their fate, they discover that they are not alone.
Four new gods, each equipped with powerful mystic weaponry known as Sacred Treasures, join Warriors Orochi 4’s extensive roster; including: Perseus, Ares, Athena, and Odin. Perseus – the hero of Olympus and demigod son of Zeus – hearing news that his father is meddling in the human world, decides to rise to fight alongside them. Meanwhile, Athena – the wise and powerful goddess of wisdom – learning of Perseus’ plans descends to earth to capture him. She uses magic powers to manipulate the size of her Sacred Treasure, the shield Aegis, which she throws at her opponents to turn them to stone. At the same time, Ares – the god of war – fights passionately to fulfill his own beliefs – that the gods should dominate humanity. Wielding his twin spears to transform into a vigorous dragon, Typhon unleashes a stream of fire on those unfortunate enough to cross its path. The ruler of Asgard, Odin, also joins the fray using Gungnir, a unique spear which summons magical blades to its tip to become a powerful drill that can quickly eliminate any who stand in his way.
In addition to the four new gods, a number of pre-order bonuses for both physical and digital versions were also announced. Those who pre-order the physical version, through select retailers, will receive alternative costumes for Xu Shu, Mitsunari Ishida, Da Ji, Wang Yuanji, Wang Yi, Lady Hayakawa, Xingcai, Guo Jia, Takatora Todo, and Yoshitsugu Otani. Fight in a Post-Apocalyptic World of Embers!
View Official Launch Trailer:
Sneak, aim for body parts, use a varied set of weapons and ammo, trick and flank your enemies, set or disarm traps, drive and repair vehicles. Take some caution to avoid blowing up all of your teammates! Seriously, don´t take that bazooka into close quarters combat.
“Dustwind is all about real-time tactical combat in a grim post-apocalyptic setting, creating uniquely balanced characters, and making your opponent´s heads explode in so many hilarious ways. Have you ever seen someone being shot with a plunger to the face or kicked off a sniper tower by an armored dog? You will in Dustwind! Happens every day…
You can play various MP game modes with or against your friends, or play Solo missions against the environment. Which will eat you alive if you aren´t careful and coordinated. This is where it gets REALLY tactical. But don´t worry, you can always come back with another character build & strategy (or more plungers) and eventually, you will prevail against the 100 or so computer-controlled Raiders.
Oh, and if you´re a mapper, the built-in map editor will be just your thing. So gear up and let the clusterfunbegin!” – Dimitri Zaitsev, Creative Director
A typical game session is anywhere between 10 minutes and 1.5 hours, strongly depending on which game mode and map you play. Large cooperative maps take longer (if you don´t die), while competitive matches are usually timed at 10-20 minutes.
Core Features & Gameplay Descriptions:
Tactical action combat.
You will need your tactical thinking and just a bit of reflex as you lead your character(s) into battle. Sneak, aim for body parts, use varied weapons and ammo, drive vehicles, deploy turrets and barricades, use the environment to your advantage, trick and flank your enemies, set or disarm traps, and try not to blow up all of your teammates!
Create and tweak your custom characters.
No fixed classes, no pay-to-win. Experiment with various character builds without wasting your time. But you only get 10.000 points to spend on each character you make, so spend them wisely to find the coolest combination of skills and gear that suits you personally. Don´t worry though, you can re-stat or make a new character at any time! And as you gain ranks as a player, you unlock cool new items to give to your warriors!
Play as a DOG.
Dogs are great support units who can throw grenades, drive cars, deploy turrets, fire mounted car guns, heal people (bring your DOGtor!), repair stuff, bite enemies in the butt, and more.. The only thing they can´t do is use (the most) human weapons. But so what? Show those humans how tactical fighting is done! Wuff!
CLUSTERFUN!
A typical game session in Dustwind is almost guaranteed to generate some interesting situations where people are flying around with their limbs torn off after some dumb incident, such as being kicked into a mine, bouncing a grenade off a wall back into your own face, or being shot by your minigun-wielding pal who was just trying to protect you from the raiders… The world of Dustwind is full of chaos, and the way it manifests itself is blood & hilarity.
Make your own maps and rulesets with ease.
Dustwind is meant to be played the way YOU want to play it! Stay with the default maps and rules, or create house rules with just a few clicks. Enjoy cool maps created by others, or enjoy the ability to create your own maps. Our user-friendly, Steam Workshop integrated map editor allows you to leave your mark on the game by expressing your creativity and sharing your work proudly and easily with the entire community. August 15, 2018 – Next week, on August 21st, the Shenmue saga begins… Again. We’ve been teaming up with the English voice of Ryo Hazuki, Corey Marshall, to create deep-dive videos ahead of the Shenmue I & II release. If you missed our previous episodes, you can catch up on the first one detailing the saga’s story, and the second video looking at the different key characters in Shenmue. Today, Corey walks us through combat systems and the different mini-games players can spend time with in the world:
Ryo Hazuki is a Jiu Jitsu master-in-training, spending his spare time busting up the bad guys or sparring with his friends. In Shenmue I & II, you’ll use and unlock real Jiu Jitsu moves that you can level up throughout and transfer between both games – which will come in useful as the enemies become tougher throughout the saga. Beyond stunning Jiu Jitsu moves, you will need great reflexes to progress through Ryo’s quest of retribution. Players will be able to experience first-hand the very first Quick Time Events, which Shenmue introduced to the gaming world.
But it’s not all about street fights and martial arts practice for Ryo – he must unwind as well. Shenmue’s arcades have fully working versions of all-time classic games, so you can try your hand at Space Harrier – and if outside activities are more your thing, enter a forklift (or duck) race.
Players can bust out their best Jiu Jitsu moves in Shenmue I & II on August 21st on PC, PS4 and Xbox One. Shenmue I & II is now available for pre-order digitally on Steam, Xbox Marketplace and PSN with a 10% discount, and from SEGA approved digital retailers*. The physical edition is available to pre-order from US and EMEA retailers. For all the latest information on Shenmue I & II, go to: https://shenmue.sega.com/
August 15, 2018 – Telling the tale of two worlds – one real, and one virtual – on the brink in the near future, Daedalic Entertainment is excited to announce that State of Mind will today launch on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, GOG and Steam for PC, Mac, and Linux.
Created in Unreal Engine, State of Mind casts a cold eye over the colossal technological advances currently gripping the globe, jumping forward to Berlin in 2048 to see just how said ‘progress’ has impacted our lives. Needless to say, all is not what it seems. Players take on the role of Richard Nolan, a journalist whose life is starting to fall apart. His wife and child have disappeared and his memories are fading away.
State of Mind boasts a unique low-poly visual style – designed to represent the fragmented nature of Richard’s world – as well as several playable characters and about 15 hours of engaging gameplay.
The world is on the edge. Lack of resources, polluted air and water, rising crime and rampant wars have left the world’s population detached from reality and disenchanted with pillars of power. Drones and humanoid robots have replaced people in the public sector, all adding to a sense of mistrust in a world where everything is interconnected and surveillance has become omnipresent.
As a result, Richard sets out to get to the truth, both in his own life and in the world around him. It’s a search that unearths secrets behind the new and supposedly perfect virtual world “City 5” – a ‘utopia’ more and more of the globe’s depressed populations are being drawn to. What happens when he discovers that his life in the real world is somehow linked to that of a complete stranger living out their days in this new virtual one?
Indeed, those questions are something the brand new trailer debates head on, casting a creative light on ‘Breakpoint’, a rebellious terrorist group looking to fight against the technology that’s numbing humanity in any way it can.
“What happens when people are promised a better world thanks to technology, but what they actually get is a life full of division? That’s the question we look to answer with State of Mind,” adds the game’s author, Martin Ganteföhr. “Part of the reason the game is set in the very near future is because a lot of the problems the world in State of Mind encounters are problems we could well face in the real world in the years ahead. This is a game about transhumanism and its all-in bet on the future, and that’s a theme I think many players will find disturbingly familiar.”
One of State of Mind’s leads, Richard Nolan, is one of the few journalists openly criticizing the world’s headlong charge towards transhumanism. When he wakes up in hospital after an explosion and finds that his wife and son have mysteriously vanished, Richard realizes: he and his family have become more than just bystanders in a storm of rivaling ideas pertaining humankind’s salvation between dystopian reality and digital utopia. Instead, they find themselves right at the center of it.
Ganteföhr concludes: “Richard has to sort out his life, to rearrange things in a way he can understand. He has to overcome issues in his personal life, and technological issues plaguing the whole world. These fragments are a motif we’ve carried throughout the game – from the plot and dialogue to the visuals themselves – all reinforcing the core concept behind everything: one of ‘Reconstruction’.”
State of Mind features:
An unsettling vision of the near future players can throw themselves into
Dive into a multi-layered Sci-Fi thriller, where dystopian reality and digital utopia are intertwined
Unravel a global conspiracy in a society of ubiquitous digitalism, surveillance and transhumanism
Explore a world with a rich and unique visual style, combining realistic environments with low-poly characters
Take on the role of journalist Richard Nolan, as well as five additional playable characters
Use dexterity, deductional skill and research to reconstruct Richard‘s past
State of Mind is now available on Steam and GOG at 29.99 Euro/USD and 25.99 British Pound. The console version is available at 39.99 Euro/USD and 34.99 pound.
