Larkspur, Calif. – July 25, 2018–Codemasters® has today released the second part in a series of developer diaries for F1® 2018, the official videogame of the 2018 FIA FORMULA ONE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP™, detailing how even greater depth has been added to the Career mode by expanding the player’s research and development options. The changes and additions to the system will now see each F1 team have its own unique technology tree with differing strengths and weaknesses.
The second of the four part series, which is available to watch now at www.youtube.com/formula1game, reveals that F1 2018’s Career will feature significant rule changes between seasons during the Career for the first time. Just like in the real sport, these rule changes can have a great effect on which teams compete for the championship so it is important to react to them as soon as possible.
“We already had an extensive R&D system in last year’s game but wanted to expand this for F1 2018 based both on feedback from our community and where we want to take the Career experience too,” commented Lee Mather, game director, F1 2018. “We have made significant changes to the in-game pricing structure, added ERS upgrades, given each of the Formula 1 Teams their own unique R&D tree, and added a fog of war around the development.
“Probably the most significant addition is the introduction of rule changes, meaning that each season you don’t know where the other teams are going to be performance wise. It makes every year unique and drives you to want to do season after season.” Lee continued. “The player will be notified by their engineer that a rule change could be taking place at the end of the year and they can choose to use R&D points to preserve upgraded items to protect areas that have already been developed. Doing so could see the player starting the following season in a stronger position. However, the other teams will also have to contend with the rules changes, meaning you take to the grid in Melbourne not knowing which teams are the fastest.”
F1 2018 features all the official teams, the drivers and all 21 circuits of the thrilling 2018 season, including Circuit Paul Ricard and the Hockenheimring. As well as the current season’s offerings the game includes 20 iconic cars from the history of the sport allowing you to drive the likes of James Hunt’s legendary 1976 championship winning McLaren M23D and Niki Lauda’s Ferrari 312 T2, both of which featured in the hit movie ‘Rush’ (2013).F1 2018 will release onto PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system, the Xbox One family of devices including the Xbox One X and Windows PC on August 24.
July 25, 2018 – Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment today announced the HITMAN: Sniper Assassin Competition, an all-new challenge for fans to put their marksman skills to the ultimate test, with top scoring Agents across PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Steam each eligible to win the grand prize of getting their name and likeness included in future HITMAN 2 content. Starting today, players can participate by pre-ordering HITMAN 2 and downloading the new standalone Sniper Assassin mode, which is a free early access bonus that is available to play now. Participants can then officially enter the contest by registering for an IOI account and playing Sniper Assassin in “solo” mode as Agent 47. Throughout the competition period, participants can scope out high scores via in-game leaderboards to track personal improvement or to see where they stand amongst other Agents. Cthulhu Tactics in Q4 2018 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. A Nintendo Switch release will follow later this year.
Based on the wildly successful tabletop RPG from Modiphius Entertainment, Achtung! Cthulhu Tactics is set in an alternate World War II where the Nazis have gained a considerable advantage by summoning Lovecraftian monsters that could enable them to destroy the allies. Players take control of Charlie Company, an elite band of allied forces, sent in to do the impossible, foil the Nazi plans and turn the tide of war.

Achtung! Cthulhu Tactics utilizes a mix of turn-based strategy and RPG mechanics as players embark on a globetrotting campaign against the forces of evil. SAN FRANCISCO — July 23, 2018 — Today, Ubisoft revealed that the worlds of Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon®Wildlands and Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six® Siege will be colliding in a free and exclusive crossover mission as part of Special Operation 2, the second major update of the second year of post-launch content for Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands. Players will be able to team up with Valkyrie, Twitch and Caveira in this two-part crossover event available tomorrow, July 24, on all platforms.
Starting July 24 for all players, exclusive Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege–themed content will be introduced to the Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands main campaign and Ghost War PvP mode, including two new Rainbow Six Siege–inspired Ghost War PvP classes and a two-part PvE mission, called Operation Archangel,. The Rainbow Six Siege Operator Caveira has gone missing. Valkyrie, a longtime friend of Karen Bowman, has tracked her down to Bolivia. With the help of Twitch, the Ghosts will follow a trail of clues, to learn more about why Caveira is in Bolivia, and also about her troubled past. This special challenge is playable solo or with up to four players in co-op and can be found in the province of Caimanes.
Upon completing Operation Archangel before August 14, players will be rewarded with Caveira gloves. When equipped, players will be able to perform Caveira’s iconic CQC move and automatically unlock the position of all enemies in the vicinity. In addition to the rewards for completing the challenge, players can further customize and arm their Ghosts with the Rainbow Six Gear Pack, which includes new customization items and weapons such as Caveira’s iconic Luison handgun, a fully customizable HK 416 assault rifle, a head-wrapped shemagh inspired by Valkyrie and a skull balaclava inspired by Twitch.
Special Operation 2 will also bring two new Ghost War PvP classes, Toxic and Surgeon, which were inspired by Smoke and Doc of Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege. Toxic uses his drone to deploy a large cloud of toxic smoke, which allows players to both trap the enemy team and create area denials, while Surgeon uses his stim pistol to revive teammates from a distance, creating new opportunities to deploy support strategies at medium range. In addition to two new classes, this update will also contain two new PvP maps, Factory and Checkpoint, a new spectate feature called Observer mode and Ghost mode, a higher difficulty permadeath PvE game mode.
