Song of Horror Console Launch Trailer

Having kick-started its movement to both refresh and honour the survival-horror genre with Song of Horror on PC, Raiser Games and Protocol Games are utterly spooked to announce that the game will come to both PlayStation and Xbox consoles as one single release on 28th May 2021.

The release will allow console players to follow the same path their PC brethren enjoyed, taking on a thrilling paranormal story where the threat of The Presence, a dark entity that reacts to your way of playing, looms large throughout.

https://youtu.be/zRx6ZefGiH0

Song of Horror sees players set out to investigate the mysterious disappearance of famed but now elusive writer Sebastian P. Husher – a man who, along with his entire family, has vanished without a trace. Taking on any one of 13 different characters, Song of Horror is a Lovecraftian, third person adventure that pays homage to classic masterpieces of the survival-horror genre.

“We,ve always been incredibly humbled by the reception Song of Horror received from PC players, and now’s the time to drag console players into the brooding mystery the game has to offer,” says studio co-founder Carlos Grupeli. “The survival-horror genre has such a long & rich history on both PlayStation and Xbox that it feels like absolutely the right home for our little ode to all that has gone before to an audience that truly appreciates real scares.”

At its heart, Song of Horror is a non-combat adventure where the focus is instead on running and hiding, staying silent in the midst of all the terror to avoid triggering unnerving manifestations, capable of bringing the game’s protagonists to the brink of insanity. With the ever-present threat of The Presence keeping players on their toes from start to finish – powered by an AI that adapts to your gameplay -, Song of Horror’s mission to keep you severely spooked is one it never lets up on.

Song of Horror features: –

  • A truly dynamic terror experience: its antagonist, the supernatural entity known only as The Presence, is controlled by an advanced AI (Artificial Intelligence) that reacts to your actions and decisions.
  • Experience unbearable fear as this otherworldly being responds to your way of playing and hunts you down in unexpected ways, offering a unique experience to every player and gameplay where tension builds up naturally instead of coming from scripted sequences.
  • Live this story through the eyes of a varied set of characters related to the story in their own way. Every character is different, and brings their unique point of view to the investigation, allowing them to approach clues and items differently.
  • Their actions and decisions will shape the world: some of them will know more or less of certain aspects of the story; some will be more effective against supernatural manifestations, but all of them can die if the Presence gets to them – and death can be permanent. If they die, you will have to pick the story up with another one, and continue the investigation so their deaths are not in vain.
  • A mysterious antique shop, a forgotten abbey, an abandoned mental hospital… Each location in Song of Horror is inspired by the classics of the genre. Explore and investigate these haunted places to gather clues and items that will help you solve challenging puzzles while enduring the agonizing tension of the game’s atmosphere.

Song of Horror will launch on PlayStation and Xbox 28th May 2021.

Jay and Silent Bob: Mall Brawl Coming to More Platforms

Interabang Entertainment, in collaboration with Spoony Bard Productions, is stoked to announce that Jay and Silent Bob: Mall Brawl, a side-scrolling 8-bit-inspired beat-em-up previously released on Nintendo Switch and Steam, is coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One/X|S on May 20. The new versions of Mall Brawl will be available digitally and as a special physical release in collaboration with Limited Run Games.

Mall Brawl has been upgraded with higher-quality visuals and a remixed soundtrack for PlayStation and Xbox, and those enhancements will also make their way to Nintendo Switch and Steam via a free update.

Mall Brawl will be available digitally for $14.99 on PlayStation and Xbox consoles. To mark its latest release, the game is being discounted 10 percent at launch week on all platforms, including Nintendo Switch and Steam.

Limited Run Games is also releasing Jay and Silent Bob: Mall Brawl as a physical edition for PlayStation 4. Pre-orders start today and will run for four weeks, ending on May 23. Fans can pick up the Standard version on PlayStation 4 for $29.99. Ultimate Jay and Silent Bob fans can opt to get the Collector’s Edition for $54.99 which includes:

  • A physical version of Jay and Silent Bob: Mall Brawl on PlayStation 4.
  • Retro cartridge sleeve that fits the standard game case
  • 12 Song 8-Bit Mall Brawl Soundtrack
  • 18’ x 24’ Reversible Poster

After sabotaging a public-access TV “Truth or Date” broadcast that was being filmed at the mall, Jay and Silent Bob are pursued by the chief of security LaFours and his low-level goons. The duo will have to battle a path back home to their familiar post outside the Quick Stop. They’ll face countless security guards, aggressive mall rats, bouncing barrels, and a host of other threats that are bound to be familiar to players who grew up in the NES era of 8-bit brawlers.

Mall Brawl stars Kevin Smith’s iconic duo in a game that draws from the entire View Askeweniverse. Players can take on the challenge solo, swapping between characters at will, or bring along a bud for some two-player couch co-op. The pixel art may give you flashbacks to simpler times, but combos, weapons, and other touches provide depth for those who seek it.

In addition to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, Mall Brawl will be available on Xbox Series X|S via backward compatibility. Jay and Silent Bob: Chronic Blunt Punch, Interabang’s follow-up to Mall Brawl, is coming to PC later this year.

Resident Evil Coming to Dead by Daylight

Behaviour Interactive is excited to team up with Capcom to introduce the world of Resident Evil into the dark twisted horror universe of its hit asymmetrical 4v1 game: Dead by Daylight. The partnership was announced today during Capcom’s Resident Evil Showcase livestream.

The Resident Evil Chapter is coming in June to Dead by Daylight. More details will follow.

“We are excited to be working with the legendary studio Capcom to create the next Dead by Daylight chapter”, says Dave Richard, Creative Director for Dead by Daylight. “It is an honor and an absolute joy to welcome the original survival horror game Resident Evil in The Entity’s universe. The result is fantastic and will surprise new players and veterans alike. Players can expect a chapter packed with iconic content and novel ways to sacrifice or survive inspired by the renowned franchise.”

“This is such an awesome new addition to our universe! If you had told us, five years ago when we launched, that one day we would be adding characters from the legendary Resident Evil world into our game, none of us would have believed you”, explains Mathieu Côté, Game Director for Dead by Daylight. “We are so very grateful to Capcom for everything they’ve done over the years to bring horror to the world of video games. And today, we get to bring these icons into Dead by Daylight. It is an incredibly proud moment for us.”

Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness Gets A New Trailer

Known as the gold standard of survival horror games with over 100 million units shipped worldwide, Resident Evil is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year with the upcoming original CG anime series, RESIDENT EVIL: Infinite Darkness, launching exclusively on Netflix in July this year.

Eiichiro Hasumi, the critically-acclaimed director behind some of Japan’s biggest live-action hits including the “Umizaru”- or “Mozu” series, as well as “The Sun Does Not Move” will be directing the upcoming series. As this marks director Hasumi’s first anime work, he spoke about his joy and aspirations in taking on this new challenge: “Being involved in a work with such a long history and so many fans gave me more joy than it did pressure. While this is a full CG anime, I strove to adjust the camerawork and lighting atmosphere to resemble the live-action filming I usually do to instill this work with a sense of realism. I hope that both fans of the “Resident Evil” series and non-fans alike can enjoy watching the series in one go.”

Yugo Kanno will be responsible for the musical score, breathing life into the epic tale. Kanno is a versatile musician active in a wide range of fields and genres, including documentaries and games, with a particular focus on films, TV dramas, and animation. Looking back on the days he spent experimenting and creating the music that expresses the unique atmosphere of the much-loved series, he says: “I inherited the spirit of the many people who worked on the previous “Resident Evil” titles and took on the challenge of creating a new atmosphere through trial-and-error. I was keenly aware that this work would be released on Netflix, so I focused on the scale of a Hollywood film so that overseas viewers could also enjoy this. Since I received the same detailed orders as usual from Director Hasumi, I was not particularly conscious of the fact this was an animation during its production. In fact, it feels like I am only now realizing that this is an animated series (laughs).”

A character trailer focused on Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield has also been revealed. Leon, who is investigating a hacking incident, and Claire, visiting to petition the government to construct a welfare facility, have a chance reunion at the White House. A strange drawing from a little boy and an unexpected power outage in the White House mark the beginning of the infinite darkness.

About Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness

In 2006, there were traces of improper access to secret Presidential files found in the White House’s computer network. American federal agent Leon S. Kennedy is among the group invited to the White House to investigate this incident, but when the lights suddenly go out, Leon and the SWAT team are forced to take down a horde of mysterious zombies. Meanwhile, TerraSave staff member Claire Redfield encounters a mysterious image drawn by a young boy in a country she visited, while providing support to refugees. Haunted by this drawing, which appears to be of a victim of viral infection, Claire starts her own investigation. The next morning, Claire visits the White House to request the construction of a welfare facility. There, she has a chance reunion with Leon and uses the opportunity to show him the boy’s drawing. Leon seems to realize some sort of connection between the zombie outbreak at the White House and the strange drawing, but he tells Claire that there is no relation and leaves. In time, these two zombie outbreaks in distant countries lead to events that shake the nation to its very core.
