Going Medieval Enters Early Access on June 1

Frantic base builders The Irregular Corporation and multi-skilled settlers Foxy Voxel are thrilled to announce that their long-awaited colony building sim Going Medieval has locked in its Early Access release for June 1 on Epic Games Store, Steam and GOG.com.

The game will be available for $24.99 with a 10% launch discount, and a copy of the game’s atmospheric soundtrack will also be available to buy. Promising a uniquely enjoyable blend of building, management and survival, Going Medieval will be shaped by a passionate community of dedicated players throughout the Early Access period.

Ahead of release, Foxy Voxel and The Irregular Corporation have also announced a final beta phase for the game taking place from May 21-24, giving would-be settlers one more opportunity to brandish their survival credentials and prepare for launch day. Players can access the Beta by visiting the Epic Games Store during this period, or by signing up for the Beta on Steam – either now or during the beta.

Going Medieval transports players back to the Dark Ages, as the known world recovers from a calamitous plague. Survivors have emerged from society’s ashes, and it’s up to you to help them settle in a dangerous land reclaimed by nature. Build your people a home, help shape their lives, and protect them from animals, bandits, and other dangers in a lawless post-calamity age.

Plan, create and build your settlement using a variety of materials at your disposal. Protect your settlers from the elements, including hunger, enemies and even the weather, and defend your colony from rival factions by building impenetrable, multistory fortresses or strategically placed archers and traps. Observe your settlers, all with unique histories and agendas, to figure out how to best serve them – happy people are productive people, after all.

V Rising Reveal Trailer

Stunlock Studios today revealed their new project, an open-world vampire survival game, V Rising, coming to PC on Steam with the Beta planned later this year. Awaken as a weakened vampire from centuries of slumber and survive a world full of peril. In anticipation of the upcoming launch of Mass Effect Legendary Edition, BioWare has released several fun pieces of content for fans to enjoy, including a Mass Effect soundtrack mega-cut, a unique custom key art creator experience, and a free Mass Effect Bonus Content Download.

BioWare put together a web experience allowing players to customize their own Mass Effect Legendary Edition key art. New and veteran Shepards alike can choose their squadmates, morality, and even key location to create their own personalized key art to share with friends or social media, or use the randomizer to create one of the billions of permutations. Images can then be downloaded in several formats, including 4K and slip cover sizing for players who want to personalize their physical copies! The web experience is available here.

For fans looking for some space-age beats to pilot the Normandy to, BioWare has compiled a lengthy, 88-track soundtrack video with music from all three games in the trilogy, which includes three pieces of custom art made exclusively for the occasion. Finally, BioWare has published a sizable amount of bonus content previously available through the Deluxe Editions of Mass Effect 2 and 3, which fans can now download for free. The God of Mischief strikes again! Watch Tom Hiddleston’s video message announcing the new premiere date and weekly release day for Marvel Studios’ “Loki,” a brand-new, original series exclusively on Disney+.

MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries Unveils Cross-Platform Gameplay

Developer Piranha Games is excited to announce that MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries will feature cross-platform play for the first time in franchise history. Players can look forward to joining forces with fellow MechWarriors for co-op on Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam and GOG.com on May 27. A free, major update will be available at launch including over 30 new and enhanced features. The team is also pleased to confirm that players will be able to join a friend to experience the entirety of the Heroes of the Inner Sphere DLC Career Mode campaign.

To celebrate the upcoming features in MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries and the Heroes of the Inner Sphere DLC, the base game price has been dropped to $29.99 USD. Broken Veil Coming to KickStarter

Experience a dark and mysterious post-Soviet Russian town through the eyes of a small child as he searches for his lost mother in Broken Veil, announced today by Russian developer Sinsitrum Games. This 3D puzzle-platformer will keep players on the edge of their gaming chairs with its horror and survival gameplay when it heads onto crowd-funding platform KickStarter in late Q2 ahead of its Steam release later this year.

Broken Veil tells the story of a scared young boy searching for his mother following the collapse of the Soviet Union. Highlighting the struggles of those with Prosopagnosia (face blindness), Broken Veil’s young protagonist cannot easily recognize and distinguish facial features. His condition ensures that Broken Veil is no ordinary horror game, as Sinsitrum Games uses the uncertainty of his condition to pack its platform puzzles with terror in an ever-evolving gameplay experience. Gameplay will also be enhanced by offering players help in the form of cats that can solve puzzles, traverse unreachable spaces and calm players down when the atmosphere gets too tense. Players must learn not to let their fears get the best of them as they run, hide and solve problems within the unfamiliar locations they find themselves in.

The uncomfortable and terrifying surroundings of Broken Veil focus on a small provincial Russian town in the middle of nowhere. Sinsitrum Games has drawn upon its familiarity with the era to create an authentically stylised landscape that will pay homage to the distinctive post-Soviet feel of a small rural town in the world’s largest country.
