Salt and Sacrifice Release Date Trailer

Salt and Sacrifice, the next installment in the million-plus selling soulslike platformer Salt and Sanctuary series from Ska Studios and Devoured Studios, begins hunting mages on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Windows PC via Epic Game Store on Tuesday, May 10, 2022.

A terrible fate awaits the decaying Altarstone Kingdom. Corrupted Mages, terrifying beings capable of controlling elements in chaotic displays, wreak havoc across the realm. To fight the evil beings, the forsaken and condemned find a new purpose, conscripted to fight as Marked Inquisitors as punishment for past crimes. Only by slaying the Mages can Marked Inquisitors begin to purify the kingdom and find some semblance of redemption.

Join the hunt as one of eight character classes before setting out from Pardoner’s Vale and wandering the western frontier. Progress across the dying land, battling with an array of weapons and arcane abilities to support a variety of playstyles. Engage in pitched showdowns against the Mages, employing skill, guile, and evasive tactics to topple the wicked creatures. Destroy their hearts and claim otherworldly flesh and bones to craft new armor sets and weapons before marching onward to find the remaining Mages.

Face untold trials alone or join factions to engage in online multiplayer. Align with PvE-focused outfits and summon player-controlled Inquisitors capable of aiding in battle. Embrace the dark side with PvP-minded sects like the Shroud Alliance, invading other Inquisitor’s worlds and hunting them mercilessly for ill-gotten gains. Input password protection to call upon trusted brothers and sisters-at-arms or let fate decide what allies—or enemies—enter the world.

Salt and Sacrifice’s campaign features challenging combat and RPG systems in a dark fantasy world with a haunting soundtrack by composer Maclaine Diemer (Guild Wars 2). Build the Marked Inquitiror from a condemned criminal into a master Mage hunter capable of facing the secrets of Altarstone. Salt and Sacrifice’s harsh environments reward Inquisitors who face the unknown with aplomb, supporting both single-player and multiplayer progression.

“With Salt and Sacrifice, we wanted to create an experience taking everything players loved about Salt and Sanctuary and building upon it in meaningful ways,” said James Silva, founder, Ska Studios. “Whether you plan to face Mages alone, call on friends for co-op, or stalk through Altarstone Kingdom as a PvP invader, Salt and Sacrifice offers something for everyone, and we can’t wait to bring the game to PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Epic Game Store on May 10!”

Salt and Sacrifice will be available for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC exclusively on via Epic Games Store for USD $19.99 on Tuesday, May 10, 2022, in English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Korean, Chinese (Traditional and Simplified) and Japanese.

The first major expansion for Paradox’s award-winning grand strategy role-playing game is now available.

Decorate your court with works of art created by master craftspeople or with rare artifacts captured or inherited across the generations. Hear the pleas of your subjects as they ask for royal favors or mercy, while maintaining a court grand enough to reflect a reputation appropriate for someone of your stature.

On a less personal note, reshape your society with dynamic and dramatic cultural options. Change your realm’s habits and practices to better suit a large multicultural empire or strike your own path, forging an original culture as old ways prove unsuitable for new circumstances.

  • Hybrid Cultures: Make the most of a multicultural realm, developing a new way of life that is specifically adapted to your varied population and geography.
  • Cultural Divergence: Split from your traditional culture, adapting it into something new that better fits your situation or aspirations.

Conan Chop Chop Gets Official Release Date

Conan Chop Chop was first announced on April 1st three years ago, sending the world into a head-scratching frenzy with reactions ranging from “this can’t be real” to “oh, please be real”. Today, developer Mighty Kingdom and publisher Funcom announced that the biggest gaming event of the year is soon upon us: Conan Chop Chop launches March 1st on PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, and Xbox!

“Conan is a barbarian who has been forged in the flames of battle; his grit and determination, his blood, sweat and tears have made him the formidable warrior we all love,” said Kimbo Forrest, Creative Lead at Mighty Kingdom. “And our blood, sweat and tears have given you this: a Conan adventure unlike any the world has witnessed before. An experience not just for the veteran fans, but one to draw in and delight new audiences.”

With its hilarious take on Conan the Barbarian’s world, Conan Chop Chop puts players into the leathery sandals of some of Hyboria’s greatest heroes as they battle to stop the treacherous wizard Thoth-Amon, evil incarnate and not a very nice guy. Cleverly positioned as a roguelite party game, with special emphasis on party, players get to throw themselves head-first into a 1-4 player multiplayer mayhem in both online and couch co-op. It has magically created maps, trillion of item combinations to loot, and an eclectic cast of curious critters ranging from self-replicating chickens to icky brain-spiders.

If neither the above nor the next gen 2D graphics have convinced you, hopefully the demo will. A chopped-up version of Conan Chop Chop will be available as part of the Steam Next Fest starting February 21st. Nintendo Switch gamers will also get the demo on the same day.

If you finally decide to splurge, the Funcom financial team also announced today – very excitedly – that Conan Chop Chop will be priced at $14.99 on PC and $19.99 on console. The game is available for pre-order starting today on both Xbox and Nintendo Switch.

Despite the barbaric source material, steps have been taken to get the game rated ESRB E and PEGI 7+, making it a great fit for parents looking for an excuse to spend more time with their kids.

Lightyear Official Trailer Released

A new trailer blasts off this morning for Disney and Pixar’s original sci-fi action-adventure “Lightyear.” Releasing June 17, 2022, the definitive origin story of Buzz Lightyear—the hero who inspired the toy—follows the legendary Space Ranger on an intergalactic adventure. “Buzz’s world was always something I was excited about,” said director Angus MacLane. “In ‘Toy Story,’ there seemed to be this incredible backstory to him being a Space Ranger that’s only touched upon, and I always wanted to explore that world further. So my ‘Lighytear’ pitch was, ‘What was the movie that Andy saw that made him want a Buzz Lightyear toy?’ I wanted to see that movie. And now I’m lucky enough to get to make it.”

Joining the previously announced Chris Evans, who lends his voice to Buzz, are Keke Palmer, Dale Soules and Taika Waititi as a group of ambitious recruits. Peter Sohn voices Buzz’s robot companion, Sox, and the cast also includes the voices of Uzo Aduba, James Brolin, Mary McDonald-Lewis, Efren Ramirez and Isiah Whitlock Jr. “The cast for ‘Lightyear’ is truly a dream team,” said MacLane. “Each of the performers immediately inhabited their character, which gave us the opportunity to play a bit during recording sessions. This resulted in a level of specificity that elevated the material and brought additional depth to the characters’ relationships. It has been a privilege to work with such a talented and generous cast.”

Also revealed this morning, award-winning composer Michael Giacchino, who’s behind the scores for the upcoming film “The Batman,” as well as “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” is on board to score “Lightyear.” Giacchino has a long history with Pixar; he won an Oscar, Golden Globe and GRAMMY for the original score in “Up.” His other Pixar credits include “The Incredibles,” “Ratatouille,” “Cars 2,” “Inside Out,” “Coco” and “Incredibles 2,” among others. The Lightyear Original Motion Picture Soundtrack from Walt Disney Records will be available on June 17, 2022.

“Lightyear” is produced by Galyn Susman (“Toy Story That Time Forgot”).
