The final closed beta for YAGER’s high-stakes first-person shooter The Cycle: Frontier kicks off today on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. You’ll find new features and content added since last year’s closed beta, which was experienced by nearly 350,000 players, helping to make The Cycle: Frontier the most wishlisted free-to-play game currently on Steam.
Discover a unique blend of PvE, PvP and co-op multiplayer gameplay in persistent matches with seamless matchmaking on a beautiful sci-fi world where every action can have massive consequences. The Cycle: Frontier’s new closed beta runs today through April 4, featuring:
New In-Match Activities: Fortuna III is getting even more dangerous! Call down laser drills and oil pumps (teased in today’s new trailer) to mine for resources, but be ready to defend your big payday from all those coming to steal it out from under you.
New Faction Campaigns: Three new faction campaigns will guide you through your first steps on the surface, all while unlocking valuable new gear and insight into the lore of The Cycle: Frontier.
New Monster Variations: Familiar fauna return with a few (deadly) surprises. New creature variations provide even greater challenges and rewards for those bold enough to take them on.
New Map Design: Both Bright Sands and Crescent Falls have been revamped for better traversal, with improved visuals to strike the perfect balance between Fortuna III’s danger and beauty.
New Enhancements: Experience improved combat balance, enemy AI, loot, and tutorials, as well as visual and audio optimizations, bug fixes and more, all driven by community feedback.
Welcome to Fortuna III, a treacherous world of alien beauty where the stakes are high and the rewards even higher. Drop down to the surface and fill your pockets with spoils, but beware: only those who evac alive keep their prizes. Mistakes will be punished quickly and cost you dearly, but every loss is a lesson learned that will make you better.
Be on the lookout for bloodthirsty beasts, a deadly radioactive storm, and other greedy players armed to the teeth. Prospect for riches alone, squad up with friends, and make temporary alliances with strangers – or go on the hunt and steal their hard-fought loot for yourself. You make the decisions: which path to take, which objective to tackle, which fight to pick or avoid, and when to evac.
At your home base on Prospect Station, you can use your newfound resources to upgrade your gear and buy new equipment. Increase your reputation with a variety of factions to unlock new combat options, and customize your loadout with the perfect tools. Your next drop to the surface is always just a couple of clicks away, and thanks to persistent maps and near-instant matchmaking, there’s always time for just one more game. Prospecting is a risky venture, but fortune favors the bold in the eye of the storm.

Powerful new role upgrades and daring new schemes, such as bank robberies, are now possible in City of Gangsters via the Criminal Record DLC, available to buy now.
To coincide with the DLC launch, a new video has been released which shows all the additions to City of Gangsters made since release which further improve the gameplay experience:
In Criminal Record, you can give your mob its own distinct hierarchy and feel by assigning new roles based on their specific experience to gain access to a variety of new abilities. Have a crew member that is adept at knocking heads? ‘The Enforcer’ will see them gain abilities that no other role can have.
These special roles also unlock actions called ‘schemes’, which range from blackmailing a local cop to taking on a risky bank robbery of one of the cities banks.
A brand-new Philadelphia map also provides additional resource production as well as a unique starting condition with potentially lucrative outcomes for those not averse to the odd bank robbery.
Bosses of a certain standing will also be able to set up their own office in a secluded country lodge or stylish downtown penthouse, filling them up with spoils of victory and mementos of their criminal escapades.
As with the previous Atlantic City DLC, a taste of these new mechanics will also be available for free to base game players via Update 1.3 which is also available to download now.

Vaulted Sky Games and Coffee Stain, publisher of Valheim, Deep Rock Galactic and Satisfactory, today revealed an explainer trailer for its hauntingly chaotic 4v4 title Midnight Ghost Hunt at the prestigious SXSW Gaming Awards ceremony, ahead of its release into Steam Early Access this Spring.
Narrated by lead developer Sam Malone, the trailer explains the core aspects and mechanics of the game, one in which prop haunt gets a surprising twist. As ghosts battle ghost hunters in a hijinks-heavy tussle between the living and the dead, spirits must possess objects in order to evade the hunters’ DIY gadgets and gizmos designed to detect and dispose of them.
But when the clock strikes midnight, the tables turn and the hunters become the hunted! As the supernatural becomes superpowered, the Hunters have to do all they can to survive the night in one piece.
Ahead of the trailer’s premiere, the stream also featured a never-before-seen music video performance of a song from the game by the soundtrack’s own composers, Swedish duo Ghostwood Empire, who have also composed the music for other Coffee Stain titles Valheim and Satisfactory.

Developer, ByteRockers’ Games, alongside fresh publisher support from Daedalic Entertainment, are pleased to reveal that roguelike adventure title, Insurmountable, will receive a major update when version 2.0 launches on April 14th. In Insurmountable, players strive to scale huge mountains with the threat of permadeath always looming in the worst-case scenarios, and with version 2.0 the stakes are even higher. Adding a completely new metagame with side missions and new skills, version 2.0 also adds a brand new story for players to conquer.
In Insurmountable, players choose one of three climbers, each with different backgrounds. During the climb, they secure their character’s survival by always making sure that their vitals don’t drop into the critical range. This task is made more difficult by a dynamic weather system, day/night cycles and a multitude of randomly generated events, where the outcome is not known. Players’ decisions matter – each and every one.
The new “metagame”
Before 2.0, a single run consisted of players consecutively climbing three mountains in a row with the transition between them being seamless – players always kept items and upgrades. Once all three were conquered, the game was over.
In the 2.0 update, players can now complete the three mountains as “main missions” plus 10 to 12 “side missions”, returning to base after every single one – without the now mission-specific items and levels. Each mission carries rewards that strengthen the climber for the whole run. The base not only allows players to upgrade permanently, choose the next mission and prepare accordingly, it also offers dialogue that carries the narrative of the story. Since the side missions need to be completed to become strong enough to take on the main missions, the game length has also been increased.
Key Features of Version 2.0:
A Brand New Story – Gone are the individual stories. Now, the three characters find themselves in a time loop, caused by the research station which is now their base. They have to free themselves and find out more about the mysteries looming in the mountain range.
Base Camp – The baseis an almost entirely abandoned research facility in the mountain range. Here, players can choose their next mission, upgrade kit and skills, and decide on which items to bring.
Mountaineering Map – Found in the base camp, the map indicates which missions are available, which ones are completed, and which ones are not yet unlocked.
Prepare Accordingly – Upgrades and preparing for missionsinclude collecting knowledge in different areas such as items, characters, terrain, and the environment. How much knowledge is received depends on the mission. Knowledge is essential to level up their respective areas (items, character skill trees, team upgrades).
Procedurally generated maps are a big part of the 2.0 update as side missions will rely heavily on this feature, allowing players to climb a wider variety of mountains.
New Feature – Tracking is a new goal that players have to find and reach in order to clear a mission.
The new and improved tutorial will be context-based and offer new players information according to their progress.
Balancing & In-Game Skills have been completely reworked.
Insurmountable is currently available on Steam, with the 2.0 update going live on April 14th. At the same time, the game will also be available on GOG and the Epic Game Store.
Retail publisher GS2 Games announced the highly anticipated Daymare: 1994 Sandcastle from Invader Studios will be available at retail across North America in October 2022 for Nintendo Switch®, PlayStation® 4 and PlayStation® 5, and Xbox® One and Xbox® Series X|S. Daymare 1994: Sandcastle draws inspiration from horror and action films of the 1990s and delves into the events behind the best-selling Daymare 1998, with a revamped user interface, meticulously designed setting, and hair-raising enemy encounters.
Sandcastle follows Dalila Reyes, a special agent in the Hexacore Advanced Division for Extraction and Search (H.A.D.E.S.) unit as she investigates a sprawling, sinister military research facility buried deep underground. Dalila’s goal is uncovering the truth behind the horrors in the labyrinthine facility, if she can survive long enough to complete her mission. Along with mind-bending environmental puzzles around every turn, she’ll face blood-curdling monstrosities with only death on their mind – and who aren’t willing to stay dead.
No matter how effective her methods are, Dalila’s foes will continue to pursue her even after their last breath, often in forms far more gruesome than she first encountered. Being a H.A.D.E.S. agent has its perks, though, including guns aplenty and the powerful Frost Grip weapon that can freeze enemies where they stand (or crawl, slink, and slither).
Key Features:
● Uncover the dark events behind the story of Daymare 1998 and piece together the untold events that shaped its heroes.
● Test your wits against a horde of frightful – and frightfully intelligent – enemies
● Fight for your life, as the monsters you put down refuse to give up their own
● Scour every inch of the facility with your Scanner to find puzzle solutions, valuable resources for survival, and more
● Tweak the difficulty to suit your experience with horror and action gameplay
