Raw Fury Unveils Post Trauma Horror Experience

At The Game Awards pre-show, Raw Fury announced a new partnership to publish indie developer RED SOUL GAMES’ debut project, Post Trauma, an original horror experience with fixed camera angles and modern visuals inspired by the retro classics of the genre. The title’s new gameplay trailer, revealed to the world [earlier tonight], showcases its unique designs, unsettling atmosphere, creative puzzles and immersive audiovisual direction.

Post Trauma follows Roman, a middle-aged man who awakens in a strange and hostile place and must find a way back home to his family. Venture through the world with fixed camera perspectives which underscore the haunting sense that you’re being watched.

Explore your surroundings and gather information to solve puzzles and survive (you may want to keep a notepad handy for this journey). Discover ways to kill or avoid the monsters lurking in the darkness, but beware: not every creature you encounter may be hostile…

Post Trauma is the first title from RED SOUL GAMES, the new studio founded by indie developer Roberto Serra Gascón. The game began as a one-man passion project, with Gascón leaving his job in 2021 to work fulltime on its development, sharing regular updates with the community on Twitter and steadily building a devoted following among fans and content creators. The establishment of RED SOUL GAMES will allow the project to bring on additional personnel as needed to make Gascón’s ultimate vision a reality.

Post Trauma is in development for PC and consoles and is available to wishlist now on Steam. Follow the latest updates from the game on Twitter.

Dead Cells: Return to Castlevania Announcement Trailer

Just revealed on The Game Awards, fans are invited to embark on an incredible and unprecedented collaborative crossover adventure between Dead Cells and Castlevania in an epic brand-new mashup DLC for the genre-defining roguelike. Honoring the franchise that inspired the very beginnings of Dead Cells, players will be able to explore Dracula’s castle (and more) along with all of its delightful evil within. Joined by Castlevania’s Richter Belmont and Alucard and chock full of incredible and surprising new crossover content, Dead Cells: Return to Castlevania is the biggest DLC for Dead Cells to date, launching early next year on PC and Consoles.

This unparalleled collaboration sees Motion Twin and Evil Empire going back to their roots, paying tribute to the franchise that inspired the very beginnings of Dead Cells.

Ben Laulan, co-founder of Evil Empire and COO said, “Like so many millions of players around the world, we are huge fans of Castlevania and remember vividly what playing it for the first time felt like. It opened up a world of possibilities and potential for so many games to come, including Dead Cells. The original inspiration – the roots of Dead Cells – was born from a shared passion for the Castlevania franchise. We are so excited to bring this DLC to fans of Dead Cells and Castlevania early next year. It means so much to us to be bringing this to fans of both franchises.”

The coming DLC unfolds a new storyline in which The Beheaded is approached by Richter Belmont following the appearance of a strange, malevolent castle. Drawn by the promise of new loot more so than an ethical sense of duty, players will need to harness their utmost undead fighting skills to defeat the evil within. Packed with new loot, creative-but-deadly new weapons, loads of enemies begging for a stake through the heart and more, this is the largest and most ambitious DLC for Dead Cells yet.

Dead Cells: Return to Castlevania introduces a jaw-dropping 14 iconic weapons and items from one of gaming’s most venerable franchises to assist you in your undead-slaying needs in Dead Cells, including Castlevania favorites the Vampire Killer, the Cross and, of course, the Holy Water. Tweaked from original renditions in the Castlevania franchise, the Dead Cells versions of these weapons will reflect the fast-paced, frantic style of combat that players have come to love, hate and love to hate.

The real piece de resistance in the upcoming Dead Cells: Return to Castlevania are two entirely new biomes, one of them being the iconic Dracula’s Castle. Packed with deadly werewolves, haunted armors and food stuffed into the walls, players will attempt to defeat terrifying and dangerous creatures that comprise Dracula’s army and bop along to an alternative soundtrack of 51 original Castlevania tunes, as well as 12 truly iconic tracks that have been reimagined in the style of Dead Cells.

But uncovering the secrets of Dracula’s castle and yet-to-be-revealed biomes won’t be a walk in the park. Three epic boss fights await in the haunted corridors of the estate, including battles with Death and Dracula himself. If these battles can be survived, you’ll need to prepare yourself for Dead Cells’ most epic and ambitious boss battle yet.

With skill, luck, hard work and a determination for extinguishing the undead, you may just be able to survive the night. Dead Cells: Return to Castlevania launches early next year and stay tuned for more reveals in early 2023 for this incredible crossover.

Hogwarts Legacy New Trailer – Making the Music for Overture to the Unwritten

Warner Bros. Games and Avalanche Software released today a behind the scenes video, “Making the Music,” for “Overture to the Unwritten” and other compositions featured in the upcoming Hogwarts Legacy game which is scheduled to be released on February 10, 2023.

In “Making the Music,” the team of composers and audio producers for Hogwarts Legacy take fans behind the scenes into some of their decision-making process and the complexity of creating new orchestral pieces set in the 1800s wizarding world. Composer chuck e. myers “sea” describes his experience working on Hogwarts Legacy over the last four years as a project that was truly a once in a lifetime. Audio Producer Nathan Ayoubi discusses how the music in Hogwarts Legacy enhances the overall experience for the player, being simultaneously new and fresh while also nostalgic. Composer Peter Murray shares how the team balanced this new original composition with the music of the films, while composer J. Scott Rakozy describes the music as childlike awe and wonder.

To create the ancient melody of Hogwarts, the team brought in unique instruments such as the “thunder sheet”—a giant piece of sheet metal—and a waterphone to make the sounds of magic. Since music accounts for every movement the player makes in the game, the composers were challenged to balance the darker side of the game with slow emotional strings to help guide the player and enhance the overall experience. Exploring the common rooms in each of the Hogwarts houses, the team infused different dynamic personalities through their use of music. The original score serves as an additional character in the game, immersing the player in the complex 1800s wizarding world.

Choir and orchestral members for “Overture to the Unwritten” were comprised of students from the University of Utah, BYU and the Salt Lake Symphony Orchestra, as well as featuring renowned recording artists Nicole Pinnell, Nicole Klossner, Ryan Shupe, Abe Kaelin, Bart Olson, John Knudsen and Dune Moss. Filmed on location at big idea music studios in Sandy, Utah and Media Grabbers in North Salt Lake City, Utah, the behind-the-scenes video features “Overture to the Unwritten,” the original composition by composers chuck e. myers “sea”, J. Scott Rakozy and Peter Murray, performed by a 54-piece orchestra conducted by Nathan Hofheins.

As of today, fans are now able to stream or digitally purchase “Overture to the Unwritten.” All of the additional music from Hogwarts Legacy will be available on launch day on the Hogwarts Legacy (Original Video Game Soundtrack). Additionally, songs from Hogwarts Legacy will be featured on a second album titled, Hogwarts Legacy (Study Themes From the Original Video Game Soundtrack), an album focusing on more ambient, chill, relaxing music that is ideal to listen to while studying for classes at Hogwarts or any school. Both albums will be released by WaterTower Music and will be available at all digital streaming services.

Hogwarts Legacy is available for pre-order on PlayStation®5 and PlayStation®4 via the PlayStation Store, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One consoles via the Microsoft Store, and PC via the Steam and Epic Games Store. The Nintendo Switch pre-order date will be revealed soon.
