Stalker Trails Free Update for Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden

OSLO, Norway – February 28th, 2019 – Publisher Funcom and the developers at The Bearded Ladies announced today that a free update has been released for the PC version of Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden, the critically acclaimed XCOM–meets-Fallout tactical adventure game that launched in December. The most requested feature from players after release has been replayable gameplay, and the free update aims to introduce exactly that. Stalker Trials brings with a challenge mode that allows players to take on new challenges in the zone, racking up points based on skill and performance, and competing with friends and strangers on leaderboards while also unlocking more powerful weapons and items.

The Stalker Trials give access to all characters, with all mutations and skills unlocked, but you will have to buy and upgrade your weapons and armor before heading out. Once you’re satisfied with your loadout you can journey into the Zone and link up with Pripp, the bartender. He’s the brains behind the Stalker Trials, and will score you on your progress as you fight your way through an area. Your rewards will be more powerful items and equipment. Your progress will be noted down on the in-game leaderboards and the weekly and all-time top Stalkers will have an NPC named after them for other players to take down. Pripp will also reward you with extra points if you clear a map in certain ways.

Funcom also announced today that a demo version is now available on Steam. The demo version features the starting experience and give gamers a sample of Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden for them to base their purchase decision on.

Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden combines XCOM-like tactical, turn-based combat with real-time stealth and exploration of a post-human Earth. It is developed by The Bearded Ladies, a team made up of former HITMAN and PAYDAY developers among others. The game has received several “Best of Show” awards at both E3 and GamesCom. Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden is available on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation.

Stern Pro Circuit Championship Announced for Chicago

CHICAGO, IL – February 5, 2019  — Stern Pinball, Inc., a global lifestyle brand based on the iconic and outrageously fun modern American game of pinball, today announced the location of the 2018/2019 Stern Pro Circuit Championship.  Partnering with eBay, the International Flipper Pinball Association (IFPA), and the Replay Foundation, the Stern Pro Circuit Championship is the premiere competitive pinball event of the year.

This year’s Championship will feature the 40 highest ranked pinball players in the world competing for the coveted Stern Pro Circuit Championship Belt at the Bottom Lounge in Chicago, Illinois on Saturday, March 9, 2019.

The event will be hosted by Brian “Q” Quinn from Impractical Jokers and will feature a live performance by Ed Robertson of Barenaked Ladies.  The pinball tournament will be hosted by Twitch.com celebrity, Jack Danger, host of the Dead Flip pinball channel.

Deponia Doomsday Out Now on Xbox One and PlayStation 4

Dungeons & Dragons Ghosts of Saltmarsh Adventure Book Announced

Renton, WA – February 25, 2019 – Dungeons & Dragons is excited to announce a new adventure book called Ghosts of Saltmarsh, which takes classic sea-faring adventures and updates and expands upon them for use with D&D fifth edition. The book details the port town of Saltmarsh and the surrounding lands players can explore using their own ship and the vehicle mechanics included in the 256-page book. Unravel sinister secrets of the sea with Ghosts of Saltmarsh releasing in game stores, digitally and everywhere on May 21, 2019. An alternate art cover with a distinctive design and soft-touch finish is available exclusively in game stores on May 21.

“The Saltmarsh series consistently ranks as one of the most popular classic D&D adventures,” said Mike Mearls, franchise creative director of D&D. “With its ties to ocean-based adventuring, it was an obvious step to augment it with additional sea-based adventures and a robust set of rules for managing a nautical campaign.”

The book includes details on the port town of Saltmarsh, as well as plenty of adventure hooks for each chapter. Fans can play through the whole story in a seafaring campaign leading characters from level 1 through level 12, while Dungeon Masters can easily pull out sections to place in ongoing campaigns in any setting. The appendices cover mechanics for ship-to-ship combat, new magic items, monsters and more!

Ghosts of Saltmarsh will be available both in game stores and everywhere else on the same date – May 21st. Fans are encouraged to pick up the adventure in the way that’s most convenient for them, but there is an alternate art soft-touch cover that will only be available in game stores. The alternate cover image was created by N. C. Winters and features a snarling sahuagin.
