EA Sports NHL 12 Cover Athlete Revealed

EA Sports has revealed that Steve Stamko of the Tampa Bay Lightning will be featured as the cover athlete of upcoming hockey title EA Sports NHL 12. The game is due out in September, and will feature a new full-contact physics engine.

“I’ve grown up playing EA SPORTS NHL videogames so it’s an honor to be chosen for the cover this year,” said Stamkos. “I love how authentic the game is and thought it was great when I scored a one-knee, one-timer goal as myself in NHL12!”

Antec Teams with Staples for Monitor Backlighting

According to a recent press release, Antec has teamed up with Staples to feature the new Soundscience HALO 6 backlighting system in Staples stores , nationwide. The backlighting system is said to reduce eye fatigue and increase image clarity. The LED system retails for $12.95 and is available now.

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has released a brand new gameplay trailer for their upcoming The Lord of the Rings: War in the North, featuring gameplay footage of Beleram in action. War in the North is due out on July 12.

FIFA 12 on PC to Mirror FIFA 12 on Consoles

EA Sports has announced that their upcoming soccer title, FIFA 12, will have the same features on both the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Windows PC versions of the game. This means that PC soccer gamers can experience their highly-touted “Player Impact Engine”, when the game is released on September 27.

“This is the moment all PC gamers have been waiting for, as they are finally going to fully experience the award-winning FIFA gameplay on their preferred platform,” said Kaz Makita, Executive Producer of FIFA Soccer 12. “PC fans are going to enjoy the highest quality gameplay, deepest game modes and truest graphics ever developed for the platform, including our new live service* EA SPORTS Football Club.”

This means that the PC version will also include their new online service, EA Sports Football Club.

Cars 2: The Video Game Launch Screenshots and Trailer

Disney Interactive has announced the release of Cars 2: The Video Game, as well as sending out a couple new launch day screenshots  and trailer – enjoy!

Crytek Outlines Crysis 2 Patch 1.9 (DirectX 11)

Crytek has sent out the official update list for Crysis 2 patch version 1.9. This is the highly-anticipated patch that will add in DirectX 11 support as well as a ton of other MP fixes. The path is due out sometime next week – we will keep you updated as we find out more.

Sniper: Ghost Warriors PS3 Multiplayer Screens

City Interactive has released some new multiplayer screenshots from their upcoming Sniper: Ghost Warrior on the PlayStation 3 platform. Due out on June 28, the game is enhanced over its Xbox 360 and PC versions with five additional multiplayer maps, including Capture the Flag, Death Match, Team Death Match, VIP and a special hardcore mode.
