Kalypso Media and B.Alive have announced the launch of the official website for the upcoming airline sim, Airline Tycoon 2. The website features character bios, screenshots, videos, and more. The game is scheduled to launch this October on Windows PCs and will allow players to get the thrill of running their own airline and all the decisions required of that position.

Jump Games working on iOS and Android games for the upcoming film, Real Steel, starring Hugh Jackman. They will be fighting games featuring gigantic robots duking it out across various venues. The games will also feature single and multiplayer modes. Real Steel is due out on October 7, 2011 while the exact release dates for the mobile game are as yet unknown.

Bohemia Interactive has released a new blog post over at the official site for their upcoming helicopter simulation, Take On Helicopters, talking about the game’s animations. Take On Helicopters is due out on Windows PCs come October 27, 2011.
For Take On’s animations, we decided to create a long list, prioritised by the must have, should have, and the awesome-but-unlikely-to-have, given what happened to the horse last time (we’re just kidding, the horse was actually very professional). Animations were also divided up into those taking place inside a helicopter (such as using a video camera) and those taking place outside (such as inspecting a tail rotor). Within each category we identified those which are very specific (such as a complicated ‘get in’ animation’) and those which are more generic, like signalling to a helicopter in the air.

Namco Bandai Games has announced that its upcoming RPG, Dark Souls, will be released on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 platforms come October 4, 2011 – with a European released just three days later, on October 7.

EA Sports has announced that its newest hockey game, EA Sports NHL 12, has exceeded sales records in its first week of release on the market by selling over 450,000 copies and making over $27 million dollars. The company also stated that this makes NHL12 the highest-grossing entry, to-date, in the hockey game franchise.
