Skylanders Trap Team Pre-Order Bonus

SANTA MONICA, Calif. – June 5, 2014 – Skylanders Trap TeamTM will get a heavy dose of girl power when Activision Publishing, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Activision Blizzard, Inc. (NASDAQ: ATVI) brings Gearshift to Portal Masters via a special pre-order program starting today. Gearshift is the latest character to be unveiled in the Skylanders Trap Team lineup and will be offered to Skylanders fans for pre-order at all major North American retailers while supplies last. This marks the first time fans will be able to get their hands on the Tech element character, months in advance of her official arrival at retail in 2015. Only a limited supply of Gearshift will be available for the October 5, 2014 launch of Skylanders Trap Team in North America, so fans are encouraged to pre-order her today to guarantee they can get this highly collectible character at launch!

Skylanders Trap Team brings a ground-breaking innovation to the Skylanders franchise by reversing the magic of its signature Toys-To-Life™ play pattern to let kids bring life-to-toys for the first time. In the game, Gearshift was created on the Tech island of Metallana by King Mercurus, who considered the young robot to be his own daughter. But rather than performing royal duties, Gearshift preferred to spend her time in the oily depths of the kingdom among its workers, secretly tending to the huge subterranean machines. When her father discovered this, he was furious – but then a squadron of Undead Stormriders suddenly attacked. Learning that these marauders wanted to capture her father, Gearshift used her knowledge of the labyrinth below to hide him. Seizing the emblem of her people – The Great Gear – she used it to fight the Stormriders, inspiring the workers to rise up. Together, they drove the Stormriders out of Metallana and saved the kingdom. For this, Gearshift was made part of the Trap Team, using her new awesome Traptanium-forged gear to help defend Skylands.

Skylanders Trap Team allows Portal Masters to seek out the most wanted villains in all of Skylands, capture them and pull them out of the game into their living rooms by securing them in a Trap. Fans can then use Traps to play as both heroes and villains who join the forces of good for the first time in an all-new adventure. The game will come with the Traptanium PortalTM, a new device that will enable kids to hear the villain speaking to them from inside the physical Trap.

Kids will be able to place the Trap in a special slot on the Portal, next to their Skylanders figures, to defeat and capture villains, as well as play as villains. Players also have the option to switch between playing as a Skylander and a villain at any time, creating fun and unique “tag team” gameplay. They can even take their Traps and their Skylanders characters to their friends’ houses for fun, co-operative adventures across console game systems. Skylanders Trap Team will be available on Nintendo Wii™, Wii U™, 3DS™, PlayStation®3 and PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system as well as the Xbox 360™ and Xbox One™ video game and entertainment system from Microsoft.

Additionally, Skylanders fans attending E3 2014 will get an exclusive first glimpse of this new hero at the Activision booth, which is located in South Hall #1647.

Denver, CO — June 4, 2014 — New World Interactive (NWI) announced today that the tactical, team-based shooter INSURGENCY now has full Steam Workshop integration. Gamers are able to easily create and share their own custom game theaters, maps, weapons skins, audio packs, and more, truly enhancing and diversifying the game experience.

To commemorate this milestone update, INSURGENCY is available on Steam’s week long promotional deal for only $9.99 (a 33% discount from the SRP of $14.99).

“We are committed to expanding upon the INSURGENCY experience, which to us means the continued release of new content as well as providing our community with the ability to add replayability to the game by creating new content of their own,” said Jeremy Blum, Founder and Game Director at NWI.

“Since INSURGENCY was originally a mod itself, allowing the community to create custom content for the game is synonymous with our team’s culture. We are excited to see what our community is able to create, and to be able to utilize such a powerful tool as Workshop to ensure that quality content will be easily recognized and accessed by players.”

In addition to Steam Workshop integration, INSURGENCY is also receiving a content update today that includes a new map called Sinjar, which is a remastering of one of the most popular maps in Insurgency: Modern Infantry Combat mod, the prequel to INSURGENCY. There is also a new weapon for the Security team – the M14 EBR.

In addition to new content, there are various bug fixes and gameplay tweaks. Matchmaking is extended to all game modes and custom maps, which has been requested by the community.

Built on Valve’s Source Engine, INSURGENCY supports up to 32-person multiplayer and six-player cooperative, and showcases a training level as well as offline practice against AI to ease the learning curve for newcomers. The game is built for Windows PC and Mac OS X with Linux support in development.

More on INSURGENCY can be found on New World Interactive’s website www.playinsurgency.com. “Like” the game on Facebook, follow on Twitter, and watch it on Twitch.

The Walking Dead Pinball Game Announced

ZP2-The-Walking-Dead-logo

Los Angeles, CA – June 4, 2014 – The pinball masters at Zen Studios have partnered with leading developer of digital entertainment Telltale Games and Robert Kirkman, the Eisner Award-winning creator and writer of The Walking Dead for his Skybound imprint at Image Comics, to create an all-new digital pinball table based on the award-winning The Walking Dead game series, continuing an age-old tradition in celebrating some of the biggest icons in entertainment on the classic pinball playfield.

A true collaborative effort, both Zen and Telltale have worked together on each detail of the table design, sharing ideas and fusing their passion to bring the story and choice-driven gameplay of The Walking Dead: Season One journey to the playfield. Touring locations from Clementine’s treehouse and Everett’s pharmacy in Macon, all the way down the tracks to the walker-infested streets of Savannah, players will find an authentic tour of Season One capturing the peril and drama of Lee and Clementine’s story.

“Zen Studios is a huge admirer of Telltale Games, and we truly cherish the opportunity to work with such amazing visionaries,” said Mel Kirk, Vice President of Publishing at Zen Studios. “Working with Telltale’s The Walking Dead is a hallmark moment as we continue our quest to create the most memorable and authentic pinball experiences.”

The Walking Dead Pinball table features choice-driven gameplay across each of Season One’s five episodes, along with original story dialogue from the award-winning cast.  Scenarios include choosing who to save and who to leave behind in a walker attack, solving problems and keeping up morale within the group, searching for food and supplies, acquiring important tools, and navigating through the herd amidst an oncoming walker breach.

“Zen knocked it out of the park with their interpretation Telltale’s first season of The Walking Dead as a pinball table,” said Steve Allison, SVP of Publishing at Telltale Games. “Players once again get to step into the shoes of Lee Everett and protect Clementine as all the major events of season one play a role in the first ever pinball game that features choice and consequence gameplay.”

The Walking Dead Pinball table will be demonstrated at this year’s E3 Electronic Entertainment Expo, and those in attendance can get a sneak peek hands on at Telltale’s booth in the Concourse Hall.

The Walking Dead Pinball table will be available for download later this summer on Zen Studios pinball platforms across console, PC, and mobile stores.
