Blue Estate Unveiled with Screenshots

blue_estate-03

April 9, 2014 — HESAW and Focus Home Interactive are proud to present Blue Estate, the darkly funny rail shooter based on the Eisner Award-nominated Blue Estate comic books from Viktor Kalvachev. Designed from the ground up to exploit the unprecedented accuracy and precision of Kinect for Xbox One®, the all-in-one games and entertainment system from Microsoft and the gyroscopic featuresof the new PlayStation®4 controller, Blue Estate offers slick wit and punishing violence through a genuinely fun and intuitive control system, all set in an eye-popping technicolor mob world.

In Blue Estate, the players will play as Tony Luciano, the homicidal maniac son of LA’s crime boss Don Luciano, and Clarence, a broke ex-navy seal who has been hired to clean up Tony’s mess. While Tony wages war with the Sik gang in an attempt to get back his kidnapped “Helen of Troy”, Clarence has to try to end that war against increasing odds.

While experiencing the smoothness of motion control in a rail shooter, using the unique motion sensor capabilities of the PlayStation®4 and Xbox One®, the player will enter a fight for his life against the most absurd and dangerous enemies, such as scar covered champions that fight-to-the-death, Tony’s own hair and Chihuahuas that are too happy to see you. Players are given a series of primary and secondary weapons to help make their way through the hilariously perilous missions which will come in handy defeating the bosses who’ll try to end your game and your life. But sometimes firepower isn’t enough, so think before shooting and use cover to prepare your strategy, reload often, and try not to get turned into grated cheese.

A killing spree is always better when shared, and that’s why Blue Estate offers the opportunity for a second player to join the fun, through a cooperative mode where every headshot counts to show who’s the best trigger in da house!

More information, screenshots and videos of Blue Estate will be revealed during the coming months!

Logitech Unveils G502 Tunable Gaming Mouse

white

NEWARK, Calif. — April 8, 2014 — Logitech (SIX: LOGN) (NASDAQ: LOGI), a leading innovator of gaming peripherals, today introduced its newest Logitech G mouse, the Logitech® G502 Proteus Core Tunable Gaming Mouse. This extremely customizable mouse combines the world’s first 12,000 DPI sensor with advanced surface and weight tuning to help you maximize your victory potential.

“I’ve been super excited to use this mouse in public, I got to test it and it felt great! Was super comfortable and just fit perfectly to my hand,” said Hai Lam, team captain for Cloud 9. “Adjusting the DPI is super easy and very flexible. This is probably my favorite mouse to date!”

As with every product in the Logitech G lineup, Proteus Core reflects Logitech’s commitment to putting science to work to help you win.

“With the world’s best sensor technology, complete surface, weight and balance tuning and mechanical switches, we have made a mouse that dominates,” said Ehtisham Rabbani, general manager of the Logitech gaming business. “The Logitech G team believes that when hype fades, Science Wins!”

Superior Tracking

Proteus Core features the Logitech G exclusive Delta Zero™ technology in the world’s most powerful and accurate sensor. Combining a huge DPI range of 200 all the way up to 12,000 with zero sensor acceleration, zero smoothing or filtering, and zero pixel rounding, the mouse is designed to deliver unparalleled tracking performance and responsiveness, and can track movement at 300 inches per second.

Superior Tuning

Proteus Core allows you to calibrate the sensor against a gaming surface’s unique physical and reflective characteristics, reconfiguring itself for optimal performance. This means you can achieve peak tracking speed and minimal lift-off distance on whatever gaming surface you use. So whether you prefer your mouse pads hard or soft, light or dark, you can get the best-possible tracking response.

To maximize physical feel and performance, Proteus Core lets you adjust its weight and center of balance through the placement of up to five 3.6g weights in the mouse. For complete control over your game you can use Logitech Gaming Software to reassign any command or macro to one of the 11 programmable buttons thanks to the 32-bit ARM processor controlling Proteus Core’s onboard memory.

Superior Controls

While most gaming mice feature a monolithic key-plate that can flex and warp, Proteus Core has individual left and right keys that provide a rigid and stable platform, resulting in more precise, durable, and satisfying clicks. To further enhance feel, speed, and accuracy, we use mechanical micro-switches under every key. And our exclusive dual-mode hyper-fast scroll wheel has been improved to offer enhanced click-to-click precision and lightning-fast scrolling for the Web.

Pricing and Availability

The Logitech G502 Proteus Core Tunable Gaming Mouse is expected to be available in the U.S. and Europe beginning in April 2014, for a suggested retail price of $79.99. For more information please visit gaming.logitech.com or our blog.

Planets3 Reaches Kickstarter Milestone

ConceptTree_planets-3

April 7, 2014 — The French independent video game studio Cubical Drift is delighted to announce the success of the KickStarter campaign for Planets3, its voxel-based RPG video game. With an exact amount of $310,708 that were pledged by the community, the studio has reached his second stretchgoal, meaning that the game will be available for both PC and Mac.

The adventure proved both intense and full of twists and turns, thus maintaining the suspense at its utmost level right up until the end! To raise such an amount on KickStarter remains extremely rare for a French video game studio and is even rarer for an independent studio lacking notoriety. That’s why Michel Thomazeau, founder of Cubical Drift, gets enthusiastic:

The campaign – facts and figures

  • $310,708 raised 31 days
  • 10,357 backers,
  • A $30 average pledge by people: 6,003 people pledged $20, 2 people pledged $5,000
  • A peak was registered on March 14th with $33,303 pledged by 1,219 backers
  • 273,000 clicks on the trailer displayed on Planets3 KickStarter webpage

Next steps

Cubical Drift’s first priority is to launch their online store so that all those who couldn’t help on KickStarter (particularly because Paypal was not available as a payment method) can now support the project under almost identical conditions as the ones on KickStarter (some rewards were exclusive to KickStarter). This “special” preiod will last 1 month, then the studio will implement a more traditional pre-order system.

Will then come a phase of integration and tests for the “account” part of their website, leading to the launch of a forum. Michel Thomazeau comments: “I hope that before the end of May all backers will have the possibility to gather on our forum to continue the interesting conversations they started on KickStarter.”

And last, the team will need a few months to regroup in the office in Cannes and start being fully operational as soon as late June.

The release of the first opus Planets3 : Race to Space is to be expected in fall 2015 for PC and Mac.
