Worms Crazy Golf Announced

Team17 Software have announced that they will be combining the beloved Worms franchise with the sport of golf in the upcoming Worms Crazy Golf. The game is to be released later this year for PlayStation®3 from PlayStation®Network, for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad, and also for PC via Steam™. The game will feature power-ups, varied course design, and multiplayer gameplay.

“Who could have known that two of our favourite things would work so well together?” says Team 17 Head of Design John Dennis, in his finest chequered trousers and snazzy sweater. “While probably not an obvious combination, Worms™ Crazy Golf is an irreverent mash-up of our own turn-based strategy game “Worms” and everyone’s favourite turn-based game of ‘hitting little balls with sticks’.”

No, Arnold is not returning as Mr. Freeze in the upcoming Batman: Arkham City game. We just love to reminise about bad movie-making decisions. Regardless, the CHARACTER of Freeze will be in the game (just not with Arnold). Enjoy the reveal trailer and stay frosty!!! (doh…We know that was bad…)

Batman: Arkham City will be available beginning Oct. 18 in North America for Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, Games for Windows PC and the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system.

Naval War: Arctic Circle Gamescom Trailer

Paradox Interactive and Turbo Tape Games have released the official 2011 Gamescom trailer for their upcoming naval strategy title, Naval War: Arctic Circle. Due out in 2012 on the Windows PC platform, the game promises a return to “real” naval strategy titles such as the classic Harpoon series.

SEGA Announces Playable PAX Prime Lineup, Includes Colonial Marines

SEGA has revealed its playable games list for the upcoming PAX Prime gaming expo, which runs from  August 26 through August 28, 2011. Their lineup claims that not only with attendees be able to get their hands on titles like Binary Domain and Rise of Nightmares, but ALSO Aliens: Colonial Marines!

The list of games playable at SEGA’s booth at PAX includes:

Gretzky, Chelios, and More to Join NHL 12

EA Sports has announced that twelve NHL greats the likes of Wayne Gretzky and Chris Chelios, to name two, will be featured in their upcoming EA Sports NHL 12. The players will be accessible as “legends” in the game, playable in “virtually” every game mode – including the new “Be A Legend” mode. In this mode, the player will basically be playing the “Be A Pro” game mode – just as one of the hockey greats throughout their career.

Wayne Gretzky, Ray Bourque and recent U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame inductee and perennial all-star, Chris Chelios, will all be featured as Legends in NHL® 12, along with six additional former NHL greats who will be announced over the course of the next week. Fall Out Boy and Deep Purple Hit Rock Band this Week

Harmonix has announced that new tracks from both Fall Out Boy and Deep Purple will hit the Rock Band Music Store this week, on August 16.

Available on Xbox 360, Wii and PlayStation®3 system (August 16th, 2011):

  • Fall Out Boy – “Dance, Dance”
  • Fall Out Boy – “Sugar, We’re Goin’ Down”X
  • Fall Out Boy – “Thnks fr th Mmrs”
  • Deep Purple – “Child in Time”

(These tracks will be available in Europe on PlayStation®3 system August 17th)
The 3 available Fall Out Boy tracks will be available as “Fall Out Boy Pack 01”, and all tracks will be available for purchase as individually on Xbox 360, PlayStation®3 system and Wii. Tracks marked with “X” will include Pro Guitar and Pro Bass expansions for $0.99 per song.
