Deadline Hollywood is reporting that the sequel to J.J. Abrams Star Trek will be shot in 3D and is set to be released on May 17th, 2013. This puts the film a couple weeks away from the opening of Iron Man 3, which is due out on May 3rd, 2013, giving time for the hype and fanfare of the gold and red Avenger to die down a bit.
20th Century Fox has released the first images from Ridley Scott’s Alien prequel, Prometheus, by way of Entertainment Weekly (and via Bloody D). The film is set to open on June 8, 2012 and is said to explore the origins of humankind. Some of the images are very indicative of the “Space Jockey Derelict” which was found on LV-426 by the crew of the Nostromo in the original Alien. It is not an unsafe assumption that the Space Jockey race had something to do with the human race’s evolution as well. Of course, that is speculation at this point – but, fun speculation to say the least!
