Nuclear Outrun Announced for iOS

nuclear-outrun-06

SAN JOSE, Calif. – May 29, 2013 – Gamenauts, in conjunction with developers Nerdook Productions and Nightspade, today revealed their upcoming iOS remake of Nerdook’s Flash hit, Nuclear Outrun, enhanced with world-ending Weapons of Mass Destruction (yes, we found them)!

The second in a series of games to be released under Gamenauts’ Asian indie mobile publishing initiative, Nuclear Outrun is set to explode on the App Store in July 2013 for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch.

Through some unforeseen (yet totally avoidable) world crisis, a nuclear missile is about to hit the city and it’s up to players to arm themselves and drive as far as they can before the explosion. Luckily, players can unleash those elusive Weapons of Mass Destruction such as George the cyborg T-Rex to gobble up zombies and the Teddy Bear Bomber that rains down terrors of cuddliness from the sky.

Along the way, players need to rescue survivors such as Cheerleaders, Mimes, and Hipsters, each with their own special abilities. Players can also mow down zombies using an arsenal of weapons such as the Shark Gun, the Fart Bazooka, and the Twitgun that shoots out little hash-tag spewing bluebirds. Vehicles with different power-ups will also be available, from the Catmobile to the am-I-in-hell-yet Demonbike.

The game also features a soundtrack by San Diego-based ska/punk band, The Skank Agents, to help lighten up the otherwise depressing setting.

Nuclear Outrun features:

  • Unleash devastating Weapons of Mass Destruction such as George the laser-spewing T-Rex and the Teddy Bear Bomber.
  • Rescue & collect 30 different survivor types, including Hipsters, Nurses, and Lawyers, each with their own unique perks! The further the player progresses, the more rare and powerful the allies.
  • Escape in 18 vehicles from the cavity-inducing Ice Cream Truck, to the passive-aggressive Catmobile, to the overcompensating Terminatus X.
  • Annihilate zombies with 25 wacky weapons, including the nefarious Squid Launcher, the room-clearing Fart Bazooka, and the bloodthirsty Shark Gun.
  • Activate Power-Ups such as the terrifying Chicken Rain and the Coins Unicorn.
  • Compete with jealous friends and boast high scores on Game Center & Twitter.
  • Rock out to a soundtrack from ska/punk band The Skank Agents!

Nuclear winter is coming to the App Store in July 2013!

Snail Games Announces E3 2013 Line Up

UBISOFT Unveils E3 2013 Line Up

SAN FRANCISCO —May 29, 2013 — Today, Ubisoft revealed its lineup of titles for what the company expects to be one of the most significant editions of the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in years. At 3 p.m. PDT on June 10, Ubisoft leads off with an invitation-only media briefing at the Los Angeles Theatre that will feature first looks at Ubisoft’s upcoming lineup, including exclusive next-generation games, innovative editions of popular franchises and new brands and titles.

Following the press conference, E3 attendees can visit Ubisoft’s booth (#1023 situated in the South Hall at the Los Angeles Convention Center) to check out a number of highly anticipated games, including Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag, Rayman Legends, South Park™: The Stick of Truth™, Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Blacklist, Watch Dogs and more. Throughout the week, there also will be a number of special guests and live performances at the booth.

“This is a pivotal moment for the video game industry, and E3 is the opportunity for us to share our vision for the future,” said Yves Guillemot, co-founder and CEO, Ubisoft, “We have many incredible games in development, and we’re especially excited to share more on our next-gen titles, which will deliver more connected, immersive and interactive experiences to our fans.”

As the industry transitions to a new console cycle, past market trends and Ubisoft’s internal estimates indicate that within two years the next-gen consoles’ installed base could double that of the previous generation over a comparable period. Ubisoft’s cross-studio collaboration structure allowed the company’s creative teams to get an early start on the transition, with next-gen games like Watch Dogs already scheduled for release this year and more next-gen titles to be announced during E3.

In addition to its E3 activities, Ubisoft is creating the Uplay Lounge, a space near the Los Angeles Convention Center designed to give select Uplay members hands-on experience with Ubisoft’s E3 lineup and the opportunity to discuss their favorite titles with members of Ubisoft’s development teams. More details on how Uplay members can sign up for an invitation to the Uplay Lounge can be found here.  Uplay® (http://uplay.com) will have pre-show coverage and a live broadcast of Ubisoft’s media briefing.

Ubisoft’s media briefing will also be available to watch live or on demand on Ubisoft’s YouTube channel (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=29uRvifupqQ) and press partners are welcome to embed the YouTube live video feed on their site using the embed link. All of Ubisoft’s videos and trailers will be available on YouTube (http://www.YouTube/user/ubisoft).

To interact live with Ubisoft during E3, visit the company’s Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/ubisoft), follow Ubisoft on Twitter (http://twitter.com/ubisoft) and tweet using #UbiE3.

The UbiBlog (www.ubiblog.com) will have the company’s latest news, previews and features on Ubisoft’s games during E3.

Video Games: The Movie Surpasses Kickstarter Goal

VideoGames_64314_640screen

(DALLAS, TX) May 28, 2013 – Mediajuice Studios announced today that the Kickstarter campaign for its indie documentary film Video Games: The Movie has eclipsed its funding goal and will be able to complete post-production before its planned theatrical release. Mediajuice reached its initial Kickstarter target of $60,000 in less than two weeks, and the money raised will be used to fund post-production on the film, to include editing, a musical score, motion graphics and the acquisition of licensed archival clips.

In addition to securing funding, Mediajuice has announced several new stretch goals including:

  • $80k: A celebrity voice over narration
  • $100k: Purchasing rights to use popular songs in the film
  • $120k: A musical score created by a famous band and/or composer

“Video Games: The Movie is about an industry that I grew up with and love, the video game industry. We want people to gain an understanding of our industry and we want to dispel many of the outlandish fallacies that currently plague it,” said Jeremy Snead, director of Video Games: The Movie and president of Mediajuice Studios. “The crowd funding route allowed us to go out to a community of like-minded people, who are as passionate about this industry as we are. We are eternally grateful to them for helping to bring this movie to the silver screen. Thank you.”

Directed by Jeremy Snead, Video Games: The Movie will tackle many of today’s hot button topics, including the questionable correlation between video games and violence, the exploration and elevation of video games as an art form, next-generation and future-generation gaming and the negative stereotypes that continue to plague the industry despite its popularity and commercial success.

Video Games: The Movie will future incisive interviews with the people who helped shaped the interactive entertainment industry, including Nolan Bushnell (founder of ATARI), Randy Pitchford, Cliff Bleszinski, and many others. At E3 2013, the Mediajuice team plans to capture additional industry interviews with a focus on international developers and next generation platforms.
