Fear the Wolves E3 2018 Trailer

June 7, 2018 – Focus Home Interactive and the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. veterans at Vostok Games challenge you to survive in the new Fear the Wolves E3 trailer. Get your first glimpse at the dark setting, player vs environment elements, and endgame extraction of this unique Battle Royale FPS.

Drop into a radioactive wasteland with nothing but your wits, fists, and whatever you can find to protect you. Deadly mutated wildlife, the organic spread of radiation, unexplainable anomalies, and 99 other players stand in your way on your long march to the extraction helicopter inside the final zone.

To defend yourself you have an arsenal of scavenged weaponry. The trusty fire-axe is a silent killer but won’t do much good as the knife in a gunfight. Abandoned weaponry is scattered around the map, but you will need to scavenge from air drops, caches and radioactive areas to find the most powerful gear. Every other player will be after them too, bringing the wolves with them.

Wolves are the first of our mutants to be revealed. Roaming in packs and picking off stragglers, they have adapted to the radioactive environment and evolved into savage, decaying beasts. While on their own they pose a mere inconvenience, a pack will drain your ammo and leave you injured – or worse – if you aren’t careful. They’re just as deadly and hostile to your enemies, and how you use that will determine your survival.

As the radioactivity of an area worsens, reality begins to break down. Dangerous areas distort and enter flux as they pulse with radiation. In the early stages, the adrenaline from sprinting will stop you taking damage, but after that only gas masks and hazard suits will keep the poisonous air and deadly rays out. You are never safe, but you can be more protected than your enemies, using this advantage to access areas they can’t, to loot more and flank them.

Extraction is your ultimate goal. Rather than a slow that acalemate, Fear the Wolves challenges players to get out how they came in, with a final dash to an extraction helicopter that accepts just one occupant. The location of the extraction zone will vary game to game, forcing adaptation and rewarding intricate map knowledge. If you manage to wipe out every other player, you still take home the victory – so choose your path wisely.

Fear the Wolves comes to PC in 2018, later on consoles. Early Access begins this summer on PC.

Paradox Interactive to Acquire BATTLETECH Dev Harebrained Schemes

STOCKHOLM and SEATTLE – June 5, 2018 – Paradox Interactive, a publisher and developer of interactive entertainment, today announced it has entered into an agreement to acquire Harebrained Schemes, LLC, a Seattle-based developer of award-winning games set within genre-defining universes. Harebrained Schemes will now act as an internal studio and division within the Paradox organization, led by its own internal management and creative teams, designing and developing the games that have earned them their outstanding reputation.

Harebrained Schemes was founded in 2011 by industry veterans Jordan Weisman and Mitch Gitelman. Weisman is the creator of many acclaimed game universes including Shadowrun, Crimson Skies, and BattleTech/MechWarrior, and has founded several previous entertainment companies including FASA Corp, Virtual World Entertainment, FASA Interactive, 42 Entertainment, and Wizkids. At Harebrained Schemes, the partners-in-crime assembled a scrappy, talented team and shipped eight titles in seven years including the award-winning Shadowrun Returns series of CRPGs and the recently released turn-based strategy title BATTLETECH, published by Paradox.

“Harebrained Schemes have proven themselves as a world-class studio with a very talented team within a genre where Paradox wants to be present,” said Fredrik Wester, CEO of Paradox Interactive. “In addition, we really like the studio, the people who run it, and their games; these are all absolute hard criteria for us in any acquisition. Our recent successful launch of BATTLETECH, our first project together, has been a fantastic collaboration, but the possibilities of what we can do together in the long term now that we’ve joined forces — that’s what has us truly excited.”

“Mitch and I started Harebrained to create the kind of story-rich tactical games we loved,” said Jordan Weisman, CEO of Harebrained Schemes, “and for the last seven years, our studio has been fueled by our team’s passion and by the generous support of our fans. As the scale of our games has grown and the marketplace has gotten extremely noisy we felt that HBS needed to team up with a company that could provide us the financial stability and marketing expertise that would allow us focus on what we love doing – making great games and stories.”

Mitch Gitelman, Harebrained Schemes’ President, added, “Our experience working with Paradox on BATTLETECH was the best of our careers and proved to us that this was a company we would be proud to be a part of. What’s more, we’ve gotten to experience the incredible audience that Paradox has firsthand: the fans who we met at PDXCON in May after having launched our game were so full of enthusiasm and appreciation. We share a deep respect for our audiences, for healthy and collaborative teams, and for the creative process itself — the fit just works.”

As a token to welcome all fans of Harebrained Schemes to the Paradox family, Paradox will give a complimentary copy of Stellaris, the sci-fi grand strategy game from Paradox Development Studio, to every player who backed BATTLETECH on Kickstarter. For further details on this new arrangement, Wester and Weisman will appear on a live-streamed presentation and Q&A session in the near future on the Paradox Interactive Twitch channel, found at https://www.twitch.tv/paradoxinteractive.

Bus Simulator 18 Features

Moenchengladbach/Germany, June 05, 2018 – Just a few days left until the release of the highly anticipated Bus Simulator 18 – the perfect time for astragon Entertainment GmbH and the developers of stillalive studios to grant players a deeper insight into a wide range of exciting features to be found in their new bus simulation game for PC – some of implementations of requests by the Bus Simulator community itself. The new features include such important gameplay elements as a synchronous multiplayer mode, the company management, the progression system, special in-bus events, day and night drives, weather conditions, the support of alternative control systems such as TrackIR and Tobii Eye Tracker as well as an expanded modding support. All of these will offer countless new and advanced gameplay opportunities to bus and simulation fans alike.

In Bus Simulator 18 players will get the opportunity to create their very own bus company either solo in single player mode or together with up to three friends in multiplayer mode and lead it to success in the fictional European city of Seaside Valley. During the course of the game they will be able to access and drive eight officially licensed and lovingly recreated bus models by worldwide renowned brands. Right at the start of the game the players will be able to take a seat in the cockpit of a maneuverable city bus with which they will create their first bus lines in the outskirts of the sprawling metropolis. By successfully completing routes and missions they will be able to increase their company’s reputation, earn experience and money which will in turn enable them to unlock more city districts and buses.

In comparison to Bus Simulator 16, Bus Simulator 18, which has been developed using Unreal® Engine 4, will come with a map that is 2.5 times bigger than that of its predecessor and also show considerably improved graphics and many new gameplay features.

These include driving during different daytimes (also at night) and under various weather conditions as well as a wide range of new special events. These can be roadworks blocking off routes, traffic accidents, passengers blocking the doors, listening to loud music or leaving trash or valuables behind requiring prompt intervention by the driver and many more.

The city of Seaside Valley consists of 12 different districts. In addition to the Old Town, various city areas and suburbs, this also includes remote villages, a business park as well as an industrial zone with affiliated harbor district. In Bus Simulator 18 players can therefore look forward to overland tours, drives along highways, roundabouts and railway crossings for the first time in the history of the Bus Simulator series.

The expansion of the bus company’s route network will be possible with the help of a route editor that has seen significant enhancements in comparison with the one present in Bus Simulator 16. The new editor will offer players more freedom when it comes to planning their routes and will give them even more opportunities to create routes that encompass the whole city. It will also be possible to freely change already finished routes anytime.

While driving, players should however not only keep a sharp eye on their time schedule and current traffic conditions. Next to observing traffic rules and the timely transport of their passengers, bus drivers will also have to pay close attention to speed bumps and potholes so that their customers will arrive at their destination safely and comfortably. This will of course be beneficial to the reputation of their bus company and career.

Next to the public image of the bus company, all bus stops of Bus Simulator 18 will be included in a progression system. This means that frequently used stops will increase by and by in rank and gain popularity, which in turn will lead to an increase in passengers who like to use them as the starting point of their journey. In addition to their own tours players will also be able to take care of expanding their bus fleet and manage employed drivers. The salaries of the employees differs depending on their qualifications, whereby experienced bus drivers will be able to complete their routes significantly safer and therefore earn higher revenues. Beginners for their part keep steadily improving their skills by gaining more experience trip per trip. Players should consider carefully which driver they want to hire, and which routes to assign to that driver.

Should bus company owners cross paths with their staff during the game they will of course be able to see each other’s buses and flash their headlights as a greeting. It is also possible to enter the buses of other drivers and hitch a ride.

Players who enjoy giving their buses a personal touch can look forward to the extensive customization options in Bus Simulator 18. They will be able to choose not only from different color bases but also from a wide range of patterns, decals and even complete all-over skins.

Even more creative freedom will be offered by the modding support feature of Bus Simulator 18. With the help of the game’s modding kit, available in the Steam Workshop at launch, players will not only get the opportunity to create new buses but also completely new maps and cities, which they will be able to share with other bus fans via the Steam workshop.

All players, who would like to use more than their mouse and keyboard to control their buses, will be happy to know that Bus Simulator 18 will support most common steering wheels and gamepads as well as tracking systems such as TrackIR und Tobii Eye Tracker. Another first for the popular simulation series. There will also be a wide range of options for the individual setup of their control devices. Players will in addition be able to choose between a simplified or realistic game mode.

Bus Simulator 18 for PC will become available on June 13, 2018 in retail and digital stores. The recommended sales price will be 29.99 Euro, 34.99 USD, 26.99 GBP.

Universal Studios Celebrates Christmas in Spring Event

It was Christmas in Spring for hundreds of families this past Saturday at the M.E.N.D. Facility in Pacoima where, once again, they hosted Universal Studios’ Christmas in Spring charity event. Christmas in Spring was created by Universal Studios in order to help out impoverished families living in Southern California. The event, now in its 27th year, has helped over 16,000 people since its inception. This year, the event allowed these families to enjoy an afternoon of custom-prepared food and interactive festivities, from carnival games and face painters to a live DJ. The best part about Christmas in Spring, aside from those it helps of course, is that it is manned by volunteer Universal Studios employees!
