Overload Release Date Announced with Trailer

Monday, April 23, 2018 — Revival Productions announced that Overload, the new six-degree-of-freedom tunnel shooter from the original creators of the critically-acclaimed 90s classic Descent, will be available for PC (Windows, Mac, & Linux) beginning May 31, 2018 for $34.99. The PlayStation4 and Xbox One versions will release Q3 2018.  Revival Productions was founded by Matt Toschlog and Mike Kulas, co-founders of legendary Parallax Software.  Revival has created Overload, an FPS that combines the best of classic 6-DOF gameplay found in Descent with the latest in today’s technology to provide intense 3D action on PS, PlayStation4 and Xbox One.

“We started Overload as a nostalgic homage to Descent, but it’s really grown into something more. We were able to create a deep story, add voice acting, create a new challenge mode game and VR support. And all this is on top of graphics and sound we could only dream about 20 years ago,” said Mike Kulas, co-creator, Revival Productions.  Matt Toschlog added, “It’s been a blast creating this game, and we especially value the relationships we’ve formed with our Kickstarter backers and Early Access players.”

Descent, developed by Parallax Software and published by Interplay in 1995, received critical acclaim for its 3D six-degree-of-freedom gameplay that combined the best of space flight simulation with FPS experience. Overload offers a Descent-like style of play, but brings the labyrinthine environments to new and vibrant life with updated features, deeper gameplay, and dramatically enhanced graphics. Overload is current available in Early Access on Steam with a user rating of 97%.

State of Mind Pre-Order Info and Teaser Trailer

Friday, April 20, 2018 — The release of Daedalic’s futuristic 3D thriller State of Mind is now in sight. The game will be available in summer 2018 for PC (incl. Mac/Linux) as well as PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. State of Mind is now available for preorder on Steam and GOG. The MSRP for the PC version is 29,99 Euro/USD and 39,99 Euro/USD on consoles.

Berlin, 2048 – The world is on the brink. Lack of resources, illnesses caused by polluted air and water, crime on the rise, war. Governments and companies promise remedies through technological progress. Drones and humanoid robots replace humans in the public sector, everything is interconnected, surveillance has become omnipresent.

State of Mind lets players dive deep into a futuristic scenario that in many details comes very close to our own possible future. Today’s buzzwords like AI, big data and a fully digitized daily life determine our thoughts, feelings and relationships in 2048.

In the game, main character Richard Nolan is one of the few journalists openly criticizing this development. When he wakes up in hospital after an explosion and finds that his wife and son have mysteriously vanished, Richard realizes: he and his family have become more than just bystanders in a storm of rivaling ideas pertaining humankind’s salvation between dystopian reality and digital utopia. Instead, they find themselves right at the center of it.

This domestic drama evolves into a thriller about a worldwide conspiracy, which at its core aims to determine the fate of humanity: Could a perfect digital utopia be the answer? A virtual paradise not affected by material needs and quarrels? Could a super-AI be our savior – or would it simply declare us as dispensable since it could not be taught the value of philanthropy?

What will the world look like after this storm, what will remain of humanity?

State of Mind offers a thrilling plot around these essential questions. Developed in Unreal, the game provides a unique low-poly visual style, a deep story by author Martin Ganteföhr, several playable characters and about 15 hours of engaging gameplay.

MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries Destruction Trailer

Here’s a new trailer for MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries that shows off the game’s various destruction types that will affect the player during their quest for mercenary glory.

TYPES OF DESTRUCTION:

  • MECH DAMAGE: Mechs will take damage to various parts, including limbs – and depending on what has been damaged on your mech will vastly affect how you can perform in battle. If your leg is destroyed you may not have the stamina or speed to get back to your dropship in time, for example.
  • ENVIRONMENT DAMAGE: Environments can cause damage as much as an environment can absorb damage. If you are on a hot planet and running a larger/quick-to-overhead mech build, you will be able to deal far less damage to your enemies. Additionally, in both urban and natural environments you will have the ability to use buildings, certain rock formations and trees as cover but all of it is destructible – so if getting at enemy mechs means taking down a skyscraper, THEN BY ALL MEANS…
  • ENEMY AI DAMAGE: MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries will feature numerous forms of enemy AI infantry and combat vehicles and helicopters designed to defend and protect bases, forts, mines or resources. Taking them out will require precision aim and a penchant for knowing which types of ammo and weaponry work best to deal with smaller but deadly and hostile units.

MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries launches this December. It is the first single-player MechWarrior game in more than two decades. Featuring co-op, full modding support and a campaign with replayability in mind, you will navigate your band of rogue pilots and crew into one of the more feared, respected and coveted lance’s (unit) in the Inner Sphere.
