Elea Story Trailer

Rotterdam, The Netherlands – August 13, 2018 – The first episode of surreal sci-fi adventure Elea will launch into the galaxy on the 6th of September. Elea is coming to Xbox One and Steam® and is already available for pre-order on Xbox One.

Inspired by the classics

Kyodai, the developer of Elea, got the inspiration for the game’s narrative from the books of classic sci-fi writers such as Stanislaw Lem, Arthur C. Clarke and Frank Herbert. Being big fans of story-driven first person games, they asked themselves at the early stages of development what innovation Elea could offer to the genre besides its unique and touching story.

They noticed that many first person adventures offer just one main distinct location, with one specific visual style. Inspired by their love of old-school platformer games, they decided to take a completely different approach for Elea. In classic platformer games the environments can vary from a lava level to a snow level, followed by a jungle level for example. The developers wanted to give Elea this same incredible variety in surroundings, to make it feel like an enormous journey through time and space.

A rising star

Elea already launched into Early Access on Steam® at the end of April. SOEDESCO’s Community Manager Marten Buijsse states: ‘’Thanks to the community’s enthusiasm and help, we have been able to finish and fine-tune the game based on their wishes and good advice. We are now confident that we can present Elea in its best form for the full release on Xbox One and Steam’’.

Fishing: Barents Sea – Line and Net Ships DLC Launch Trailer

Moenchengladbach/Germany, August 10, 2018 – Since the beginning of the year, fearless sea dogs have been able to go on lucrative fishing expeditions off the rough North Norwegian coast with astragon’s new fishing and ship simulation game Fishing: Barents Sea for PC. Today, virtual fishermen can be looking forward to even more, exciting content: With the release of the new Fishing: Barents Sea – Line and Net Ships DLC, the Norwegian developer team of Misc Games is happy to launch five brand new ships which will bring even more variety to line and net fishing.

Each of the five new fishing boats comes with its own individual and authentic attributes, as well as individual fishing quotas.

The smallest boat among the new fishing vessels is the Tobie. With just 7 meters (23 feet) in length, it is a very compact vessel, which moves swiftly but steadily across the wild waves of the Barents Sea. With a length of little more than 10 meters (35 feet) another small but very modern fishing ship named Sharky will be ready to cast off from the harbor of Hammerfest to go on exciting fishing adventures. The Snarset is the third new ship of the DLC and boasts some top modern equipment inside a light aluminum hull. With a length of 14 meters (49 feet), the Snarset is one of the largest new fishing boats – only to be surpassed by the aptly named Moby D. The Moby D. is 20 meters (66 feet) long and inspired by a traditional, very popular Norwegian boat design from the 1970s. Its hull of wood and steel offers strength and durability against the rough elements of the sea.

Last but not least, Fishing: Barents Sea welcomes a special highlight of the Norwegian fishing industry in form of the Fix: The 10 meters (33 feet) long vessel has its origin in the 1920s and is today the oldest, still active fishing boat in Norway.

All five new ships will delight players with realistic designs and detailed interiors. The additional boats will allow ambitious fishermen to catch even more maritime prey and increase the yield of their fishing business.

The Fishing: Barents Sea – Line and Net Ships DLC is available now on Steam™ for 5.99 Euro/6.99 USD/5.49 GBP. The main game Fishing: Barents Sea for PC is required to make use of the additional content. It is available in retail or as a digital download for 19.99 Euro/19.99 USD/16.99 GBP (RRP).

F1 2018 Third Developer Diary

Larkspur, Calif. – Aug. 9, 2018 – Codemasters® has today released the third part in a series of developer diaries for F1 2018, the official videogame of the 2018 FIA FORMULA ONE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP™, detailing how the new game boasts the most authentic F1 car handling simulation ever seen in the franchise.

The third of the four part series, which is available to watch now at www.youtube.com/formula1game, reveals that F1 2018’s car simulation and handling has significantly advanced this year, with revamped suspension and chassis physics, the addition of real world F1 data for unprecedented accuracy, new “tire carcass” temperature for the first time, as well as manual deployment of the ERS system. The ultimate result of these enhancements is that the gamer can experience the pure sensation of the tire tearing into the track surface, and therefore giving a realistic and relatable feeling of grip, under all wear, compounds and weather conditions.

“I believe F1 2018 is a massive step up, because we’ve introduced so many more simulation aspects that I believe will be very well received by all the players,” commented David Greco, senior car handling designer on F1 2018. “To choose which one is the most important and advanced is quite hard, but I would probably say it is the expanded system which enables us to simulate the tire temperature more realistically than we have ever done before.”

He continued: “This year, the way the car feels, with the ‘Force Feedback,’ and how it all works together, we are very close to what I want from a simulator. In over 20 years of my career between sim racing and real motorsport, I have always come across questions like: ‘one title is more simulator than another title, because it’s very difficult to drive?’ With my real motorsport experience, I can say that real racing cars are made to have a lot of grip. To me, a simulator is not how easy it is to drive or how easy to make it spin. To me, a simulation is how many real-life, physical components we simulate, and especially this year, there are not many features that I can think of that we don’t simulate. To just call it a game to me is not enough anymore.”

F1 2018 features all the official teams, the drivers and all 21 circuits of the thrilling 2018 season, including Circuit Paul Ricard and the Hockenheimring. As well as the current season’s offerings the game includes 20 iconic cars from the history of the sport. F1 2018 will release onto PlayStation® 4 computer entertainment system, the Xbox One family of devices including the Xbox One X and Windows PC on Aug. 24, 2018.
