The Halloween Update Comes to World of Warships

October 17, 2018 – It’s time to get spooky — Update 0.7.10, AKA, “The Halloween Update” for World of Warships is available today. The Port looks…slightly different; evil forces have gone nautical, so it’s up to players to save the seas from this omnipresent danger.

Operation “Saving Transylvania” is available from today, with operation “Sunray in the Darkness” to follow next week. The former sees players accompanying and escorting the ship Transylvania to safety from the Forces of Darkness and taking down the most sinister seafaring ship, the Rasputin! Following on the theme of banishing threatening forces from our naval world, “Sunray in the Darkness” sees all Commanders teaming up to destroy a sinister portal that’s allowing evil into our world. Work together to protect the magical security towers, as they power up and close down the portal!

Two weeks later a third mission “Terror of the Deep” will unlock — bringing with it one of the most requested and anticipated features in World of Warships history: submarines.

Need more ghoulish fun? The Halloween update also adds a new line of nine British and Royal Navy destroyers that are ready to join your fleet, and if that’s not enough, the game has added a new commander — real-world Hockey great, Alexander Ovechkin!

The hockey legend will be available for US and Soviet vessels but also have two special variants: one will be focused on the Halloween event and the other is the first dual-nation commander in World of Warships, meaning he can freely swap between US and Soviet ships.

Elite Dangerous: Beyond Chapter 4 Reveal Trailer

October 15, 2018 – The final chapter in the Beyond season, and the largest Elite Dangerous update of the year, arrives in 2018 with new, significant additions to exploration, mining, multiplayer and more. Elite Dangerous: Beyond – Chapter Four provides all-new features and upgrades for every Commander, all completely free to every Elite Dangerous and Elite Dangerous: Horizons player on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Beginning October 23, a staged beta for Beyond – Chapter Four will be available to all PC Elite Dangerous and Elite Dangerous: Horizons owners. Over the course of the beta, players can get hands-on with all key aspects of the update, including:

Exploration

A new Analysis Mode, with the improved Exploration Discovery Scanner and Detailed Discovery Scanner, is a game-changing, brand new way for all Commanders to explore the galaxy. After an initial scan of the system, players will then be able to tune their scanners to find stellar bodies and other phenomena. Unidentified Signal Sources and conflict zones will also appear, allowing players to easily track down interesting or important things within the system. Not only is this new system a more realistic, satisfying and engaging exploration experience, but also provides players with the freedom to make more informed decisions on where to look next, and be ultimately better rewarded for time spent exploring. Commanders will now have probes that can be arced onto planetary surfaces, and planetary rings, to map them in detail, locate points of interest and leave their mark on the galaxy in a new way.

Mining

Asteroid belts and planetary rings are about to get very busy. New tools and mechanics will provide a fresh, exciting and lucrative mining experience for all Elite Dangerous Commanders. Using new exploration mechanics, miners can investigate rings to locate the best spots to start their mining sessions. With the right amount of skill and expertise, Commanders can create an awesome asteroid detonation before sweeping up the spoils.

Mad Max Artist Teams Up with World of Tanks Blitz

October 15, 2018 – With the haunting season in full swing, mobile sensation World of Tanks Blitz is pulling out all the stops with seasonal treats – and a few tricks as well. World of Tanks Blitz is happy to present Mad Games, a limited-time Halloween event, created in collaboration with Mad Max: Fury Road’s Principle Vehicle Designer and Concept Artist Peter Pound.

Pound has created two new tanks which will only be unlockable for the duration of the event – the Tier V Scavenger and the Tier VII Gravedigger. In order to obtain the Scavenger tank, players need to earn 50 victories in battle, while the Gravedigger will require them to complete a set of battle missions. These two tanks are part of the Artists’ Signature Series that began with legendary Gundam designer Kunio Okawara’s tank, the O-47.

“Working together with the World of Tanks Blitz team, I was able to create some unique designs and given creative freedom,” said Pound. “With Mad Max: Fury Road, I was focused on car designs but the challenge here was taking tanks and making them even more heavy metal! I enjoy a challenge and it was a cool experience. Now I hope everyone enjoys the hard work put into these steel beasts.”

Alongside these two unlockable powerhouses, Mad Games will feature an exclusive game mode in a brand new post-apocalyptic map. This mode will bring sandstorms to World of Tanks Blitz for the very first time alongside other powerful abilities like invisibility, shields and armor restoring – adding some ghoulish new abilities in honor of Halloween.

To set the mood for this year’s festivities, World of Tanks Blitz created a post-apocalyptic garage, added holiday flair to maps and even added some unique tank customization options that are sure to spook even the most battle-hardened veterans. Famous tanks from past Halloween events, including 2015’s Tankenstein and 2016’s Dracula and Helsing, will also be available during Mad Games.

Players can take part in Mad Games exclusively from October 17 – November 12. They won’t want to miss it!

World of Tanks Blitz is a free-to-play mobile MMO action game built specifically for tablets and smartphones.
