BloodRayne Betrayal: Fresh Bites Anounced

Today, publisher of retro-and-modern games, Ziggurat Interactive, announced a summer 2021 release for their remastered, high definition edition of BloodRayne Betrayal: Fresh Bites, coming to PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox, and Switch. In development by WayForward, the game’s original creators, this updated version of the hit 2D hack ‘n’ slash platformer will feature all-new voice acting performed by the original BloodRayne cast — Laura Bailey (Rayne) and Troy Baker (Kagan). This digital release is coming to Windows PC, PlayStation, Switch, and Xbox as well as an exclusive, multiplatform physical release through Limited Run Games.

“It has been a phenomenal experience working with WayForward to revisit and revamp BloodRayne Betrayal for a new generation of Rayne fans,” said Michael Devine, SVP of Business Development. “We were very fortunate to work with Laura Bailey and Troy Baker to lend their voices to their iconic characters.”

Released in 2011, the original BloodRayne Betrayal was met with passionate reviews for its gorgeous graphics and punishing difficulty. As Rayne, players will battle through 15 levels as they wend their way through a hidden castle where a sinister gathering is taking place. It’s Rayne’s last job — will she “clean house” or find herself six feet under?

BloodRayne Betrayal: Fresh Bites Features:

  • All-New Voice Acting: Originally released without any spoken dialog, the new BloodRayne Betrayal will feature AAA-quality voice acting by Laura Bailey and Troy Baker reprising their roles as Rayne and Kagan. Patrick Seitz and Todd Haberkorn are also featured as voice actors in the game, bringing more of its characters to life.
  • Enhanced Edition: Cleaned-up visuals, squashed bugs, and support for HD displays (up to 4K) are just a few new details added to the game that help Rayne strut her stuff on modern PCs and consoles
  • Advanced Controller Support: Improved support for haptic features on modern console controllers
  • Modern Console Release: Rayne returns to console including a first-ever release on Nintendo Switch
  • Physical Edition: Collectors rejoice! Fresh Bites will receive an exclusive physical edition release for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch through Limited Run Games

Razer Unveils All-New Blade 14 Gaming Laptop

Razer™, the leading global lifestyle brand for gamers (Hong Kong Stock Code: 1337), today announced during their E3 keynote the return of a gaming legend: The Razer Blade 14. After a three-year hiatus, the Blade 14 is back to shake up the scene as the first Razer Blade to ever feature an AMD processor, the 8-core AMD Ryzen™ 9 5900HX, offering the fastest gaming performance in its classi.

The new Razer Blade 14 will also feature up to the NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 3080 Laptop GPU, and up to a Quad HD 165Hz display, all packaged into the world’s most compact 14-inch gaming chassis. Rounding out the 14-inch powerhouse are the signature Razer trappings that have established Razer Blade laptops as one of a kind, including per-key Razer Chroma RGB backlighting, immersive THX® Spatial Audio for dynamic sound, and an abundant offering of ports to make everyday life easier.

“When we introduced the Blade 14 in 2013, Razer challenged the industry to think bigger, yet smaller. The original Blade 14 revolutionized the mobile gaming landscape, earned laptop of the decade, and brought us to where we are today,” said Brad Wildes, Senior Vice President & General Manager of Razer’s Systems Business Unit. “The new Blade 14 aims to shake up the industry once again by combining Razer’s decade worth of experience in crafting ultra-compact and high-end gaming machines with the power and efficiency of AMD Ryzen Mobile Processors. We are thrilled to bring the ultimate mobile gaming experience to gamers with the Razer Blade 14.”

“As gamers demand lighter and more powerful form factors in gaming laptops, we have remained committed to our goal of delivering best-in-class mobile processors for premium OEM designs,” said Saeid Moshkelani, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Client Business Unit, AMD. “We are excited to collaborate with Razer, for the first time ever, by powering the Razer Blade 14 with the best mobile processors we have developed for gaming, the Ryzen 5000 H-Series Mobile Processors.”

Ultra-Powerful

With the revival of the Blade 14 comes the birth of an entirely new partnership between Razer and AMD, culminating in the first Razer Blade ever to run on an AMD processor. The AMD Ryzen™ 9 5900HX 8-core, 16-thread processor features a max boost clock of up to 4.6GHz, enabling it to quickly dispatch dense workloads, reduce latency when gaming, and chew through demanding workloads at breakneck speeds. The new Blade 14 with AMD Ryzen™ doesn’t just offer the highest raw computational power in its class, but does it with a cool, quiet efficiency, providing users with up to 12 hours of battery life so they can spend less time near an outlet and more time on the move.

The Blade 14 features the latest NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30 Series Laptop GPUs, up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Laptop GPU. Built with NVIDIA’s Ampere architecture, the RTX™ 30 Series offers improved ray tracing and advanced AI features to create more visually immersive worlds. In addition to the improved graphical performance, the GeForce RTX 30 Series features a suite of Max-Q technologies such as Dynamic Boost, Whisper Mode 2.0 and a resizable BAR that allow the Blade 14 to remain silent but deadly.

Ultra-Fast

Matching power with visual fidelity, the Blade 14 offers the fastest 14-inch gaming displays in the market. Ranging from Full HD 144Hz up to Quad HD 165Hz, both IPS-grade panels offer excellent color coverage, reaching up to 100% SRGB on the Full HD panel and up to 100% DCI-P3 on the Quad HD panel. The high refresh rate of both panels, paired with the integrated AMD FreeSync™ Premium technologyii, delivers a crisp and fluid visual gaming experience. To ensure a consistent and vibrant experience for every user, each panel is custom calibrated at the factory for color accuracy.

Ultra-Thin

Continuing a legacy of industry-leading compact design, the Blade 14 features an all-aluminum chassis, precision milled to reduce any excess waste in the frame and anodized with a matte black coating to ensure a consistent finish that is unique to the touch and resistant to scratches. To make the Blade 14 not just thin but overall compact, the chassis dimensions have been trimmed down to a mere 0.66” x 8.66” x 12.59” – making it the world’s smallest 14-inch gaming laptop. To achieve this technical feat, the Blade 14 utilizes Razer’s unique vapor chamber cooling solution instead of the bulky and inefficient heat pipe systems that other gaming laptops rely on.

The vacuum-sealed chamber within the Blade 14 uses vaporized liquid to dissipate heat away from integral components, while working in tandem with two ultra-low-profile fans, each of which features 88 fan blades at a mere .1 mm thin, equivalent to the thinness of a human hair, to pull cool air in and push hot air out, ensuring both the CPU and GPU can operate at maximum capacity while remaining cool.

The Ultimate Experience

Designed to be a versatile tool, the Blade 14 boasts an abundance of user-friendly features that go beyond gaming to improve the day-to-day experience. Lining the top bezel of the display is a sharp 720p webcam for taking web calls when working away from the office, with an IR sensor for a safe and seamless login via Windows Hello. The punchy keyboard is accented with per-key Razer Chroma RGB that can be customized to match any of the 16.8 million colors available within Razer Synapse.

Flanking the keyboard are booming speakers that can be tuned via built-in THX Spatial Audio technology for gaming, movies, or music. Lining the sides of the Blade 14 is a plethora of ports including two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C ports with power delivery for charging when in a bind, two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports for connecting legacy items, HDMI 2.1 for easily hooking into board room media sets, and a 3.5mm jack for listening to immersive 3D audio with THX Spatial Audio.

Back to revolutionize the gaming world again, the Blade 14 is the premiere 14-inch gaming laptop, offering the best-of-the-best in every category from processing power, to visuals, to mobility, to versatility. It is the Ultimate AMD Gaming Laptop.

Turtle Beach Unveils New Xbox and Flight Sim Control System at E3

Leading gaming accessory maker Turtle Beach Corporation (Nasdaq: HEAR) today announced its entry into two large and rapidly growing gaming accessory markets – game controllers and gaming simulation hardware. At E3 2021, the Company revealed two groundbreaking products developed under its best-selling Turtle Beach brand and provided details for the all-new Designed for Xbox Recon™ Controller and VelocityOne™ Flight simulation control system. Turtle Beach’s entrance into the controller and gaming simulation hardware markets present two major opportunities for the Company to expand its reach by leveraging its strong brand and reputation for creating high-quality gaming hardware. These new products will provide gamers and simulation fans with first-to-market features and innovations designed to elevate their experiences. The Recon Controller is the first to pair Turtle Beach’s signature audio technology with game-winning controls. VelocityOne Flight is the complete flight control system, developed in collaboration with aeronautical engineers and pilots to deliver the most immersive, authentic, and modern PC and Xbox flying experience on the market.

“We’re putting the same expertise and energy that’s made us the best-selling gaming headset maker for the past decade-plus into creating controllers and simulation hardware that benefits gamers with a better experience as we continue expanding our business to deliver on our long-term growth objectives,” said Juergen Stark, Chairman and CEO, Turtle Beach Corporation. “These two new accessory segments add another $1 billion of global addressable market, with third-party gamepad controllers at roughly $600 million, and PC/console flight simulation hardware adding roughly $400 million in global market. Both of these markets are growing rapidly, and our entrance with these first products will be the start of an expanding portfolio into other adjacent PC simulation hardware categories.”

Stark continued, “We’ve grown our award-winning ROCCAT PC accessory portfolio and revenues significantly since expanding into the PC category with that acquisition roughly two years ago. Given that success, the exciting portfolio of Neat Microphones launching this year, and this expansion into the large game controller and gaming simulation hardware markets, I expect we could approach – or even be over – $100 million in revenues outside our historical core console headset business next year.”

“The Recon Controller lets gamers connect any wired 3.5mm gaming headset and provides exclusive Turtle Beach audio technology like our custom-tuned audio presets, and Superhuman Hearing™ which is our patented audio setting that helps you hear enemy players before they hear you, among other features. The Recon Controller is sleek, feels great in your hands, and is the perfect companion to the millions of Turtle Beach headsets being used by our fans playing on Xbox.”

Stark added, “Microsoft’s Flight Sim 2020 astonished gamers and flight sim fans alike with its stunning visual quality when it debuted on PC last year, and with the game coming to Xbox Series X|S this summer we believe it will fuel a wider audience of gamers to explore flight simulation. As a pilot and flight sim enthusiast myself, after seeing the incredible visual realism of the game early last year and being very familiar with the existing hardware in the market, I knew we could design a better, more integrated and modern flight control product that flight sim enthusiasts would want. We hired a team with deep experience in flight sim hardware and developed a fully integrated system that works with Xbox and PC and provides everything a new flier needs, along with the capability and features that hardcore flight simmers want. For the great price of $349.95, there’s nothing else like it.”

Life is Strange: True Colors Power and Consequence Trailer

Today Life is Strange fans across the globe were given a deep dive look at the supernatural power that players will control in the award-winning series’ next major entry, Life is Strange: True Colors. The details were shared in the company’s SQUARE ENIX PRESENTS show, which aired during E3 2021. Developed by Deck Nine Games, the studio behind Life is Strange: Before the Storm, in collaboration with Square Enix External Studios, Life is Strange: True Colors introduces players to Alex Chen, an all-new protagonist who will use her psychic power of empathy to solve a mystery that will make her question everyone and everything she’s come to know in the quaint small town of Haven Springs.

In March, the latest entry in the Life is Strange series was revealed: Life is Strange: True Colors, a small-town supernatural mystery.

Brought to life through full performance capture by rising talent Erika Mori, players will navigate Haven Springs as Alex Chen, a young woman who has long suppressed her ‘curse’: the psychic power of Empathy, a supernatural ability that allows her to experience, absorb and influence the strong emotions of others – which she sees as blazing, colored auras.

When her brother dies, in a suspicious accident, Alex must at last embrace her volatile power to find the truth, and uncover the dark secrets buried by a small town. Alex Chen’s journey, power and future are all fully under the player’s control.

The presentation gave more insight into the visuals, gameplay, and narrative impact of Alex’s psychic power of Empathy, showing how she and the player will make choices and interact with the citizens of Haven Springs, both through use of the power during exploration, and in memorable story-driven moments that present the player with complex decisions only they – using Alex’s power – can resolve.

The psychic power of Empathy affects every interaction and relationship Alex has in the game and is fully under the players control. Use it to reveal the secrets of Haven Springs, the hidden facets of Alex’s past, and the future of her journey to find a place to call home.
